In the process all four wheels for the snow tires were scuffed and slightly damaged. At the time, I didn't consider it bad enough to post a comment but did contact the service manager to mention the issue. He was apologetic and even offered to "fix" the damage but I did not accept the offer since it was only cosmetic damage. Fast forward to yesterday April 12, 2026. I wanted to remove the snow tires/wheels and install the summer tires/wheels on the vehicle. The lug nuts are supposed to be torqued to 100 ft -lbs but most of the lug nuts were so difficult to remove that I had to use a breaker bar on them. This was on a Sunday or I would have taken the car to Butler Tires for Less and have them swap the tires/wheels. Now I have concern that my rotors may be warped. Obviously, I won't be going back to this business. On April 15, 2026 in response to Tony K's request, I provided my contact information. It is now April 26 and, so far, no reply from Tony so i will consider this matter closed.

The shop was the only place I had taken it to since I bought it off the lot, when it had a catalytic converter. Since it had been months since I had taken my vehicle here I couldn't report it to the district attorneys office for theft but I wanted to let everybody know be very careful taking your vehicle to the shop because they stole my catalytic converter.

They did a fantastic job and saved me a ton of money and one HUGE headache. There were issues, with the car being 65 years old and original, but nothing unexpectedly wrong with the car. However the paperwork was screwed up, no one saw it, not the dealer and not me. Had it shipped to California with that paperwork it is likely I could never have registered the car in this state or if I could it would have cost a lot of time and money to do so. Because I used PPI the paperwork mistake was found before shipment and is being fixed by the dealer. Once I receive the corrected paperwork and the car I should have no troubles. PPI did an excellent job taking numerous photographs as well as checking and documenting everything and follow up conversation discussing all the issues and findings. Had I have gone to a nationally known brand it would have cost more and I doubt I could have gotten better or more professional and personalized service. PPI is a great value for the money. Today I had the windshield replaced my insurance paid for the windshield replacement. I go into Midas in butler to explain I need a new inspection sticker on the windshield the guy at the desk threatened to call the cops on me. I told him Midas is the one inspection my car couple months ago and I have proof the windshield was just been replaced today it's the same VIN number. My car is legally inspection.

After some discussion with the district manager, they agreed to service our car. This was a huge mistake. They intentionally put the bolt of the tires on so tight that our mechanic spent two hours trying to remove them to change our brakes. He said most places put the bolts on too tight to either break them or strip them causing the owner to ultimately pay more. Rude. Dishonest. Intentionally malicious. Poor service. That is this Midas. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

hows this for a warranty ? april 2022 needed front brakes…read more@38,221 miles-paid $603.13 for new rotors & lifetime warranty pads december 2024 "needed front brakes ?" @77,021 miles- they would replace pads "free" but needed front rotors again ! needed calipers! total charge to replace "free pads" $834.22. two days later they refused to give me new pads unless i authorized the $800 repair--took vehicle to a pa. certified inspection station, aaa recommended - front rotors passed state inspection, calipers were operating properly, but needed front pads-- the rear (which monroe never checked) needed pads - rotors passed but were near minimum ( @79,000 miles) i had them replace anyway-- paid $506.00 for front brake pads-rear brake pads -rear rotors + got state inspection- substantially less money for more service kind of obvious how the monroe warranty works ! would be prudent to get another opinion on price & diagnosis before authorizing any service by this monroe location.
