I rarely leave any reviews for a company but someone higher up as a boss in Midas needs to know this. I got my car state inspection done at Midas in February at the butler pa. Today I had the windshield replaced my insurance paid for the windshield replacement. I go into Midas in butler to explain I need a new inspection sticker on the windshield the guy at the desk threatened to call the cops on me. I told him Midas is the one inspection my car couple months ago and I have proof the windshield was just been replaced today it's the same VIN number. My car is legally inspection. read more

They had a promotion that they'd match prices. We went in and asked them to honor that promotion but they refused and told us to go to the place we got the quote if we wanted that price. After some discussion with the district manager, they agreed to service our car. This was a huge mistake. They intentionally put the bolt of the tires on so tight that our mechanic spent two hours trying to remove them to change our brakes. He said most places put the bolts on too tight to either break them or strip them causing the owner to ultimately pay more. Rude. Dishonest. Intentionally malicious. Poor service. That is this Midas. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. read more

Midas worked on my vehicle in November of 18. They did work that was not required to pass it on inspection. They did the work incorrectly. In the course of doing the work they smashed my car into a garage door doing further damage. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a garage. They refuse to make it right. I had my vehicle inspected, which included a wheel alignment and new tires. After a few months, I noticed my vehicle not handling well. Then it started to pull to the right side when I braked. I had a local mechanic look at it and alignment cam bolts had all become loose and caused excessive ware on the inside of my new tire. Midas refused to do anything about it and said it was not their fault and some other issue cause the bolts to become loose but after my mechanic tightened the bolts back up, the vehicle drove with no issue. I still needed to get the vehicle aligned and a new tire but I will be going to other places. Very disappointed in their service. read more

My family has recently had two less than satisfactory experiences with this Midas (to say the least). First off, my state inspection (which was by appointment) took over 4.5 hours. And all that my car needed was a new tail light. This was after they informed me that they would call me in an hour or two. In addition, they did not rotate or balance my tires as I asked. Second, my brother's car failed inspection for having the wrong sized tire...the tires that Midas installed the previous year. The worst part, management argued with him about the tire situation even though he had a receipt. Not to mention that one of he tired they installed a year ago already needed replaced. We used to be loyal to Midas in Butler, however, I am sorry to say that they have lost my family's business for good. read more

Never have I been ripped off so bad. You're better off going to a dealer. I took my son's car there because it had a miss in the spark plugs and left it overnight for them to fix the next day. They called my at work and told me all six plugs were bad and the ignition coils were also bad and needed replaced. He told me they were $130 a piece and they all had to be replaced. With labor the cost to fix it would over $1000. I was busy at work and said go ahead. My mistake I know. I got a break at work and looked up the part on my phone. The cheapest I could find was $8.00 and the most expensive was $25. I called back less than an hour later and told the guy to stop. He said he was almost done. So I assumed that meant at most I would be charged an hour and a half of labor. When I went to pick up the car the bill was over $1300. For spark plugs, the rubber things that go over them and labor. I confronted the guy about the cost of the parts and showed him what I found online. He said his parts were better even though the $25 ones were original parts. He also said that they would charge for shipping. True but c'mon. They also charged me 4 hours labor which was $405. So I said take them out and put the old ones back in. He said if he did that he would have to charge me the labor again. Which would bring it to $810 for labor and my car wouldn't be fixed. So he gave me $150 and told me that was the best he could do. So I had to pay for it at that point as the alternative didn't make sense. So in the end they not only charged me 6 times what the parts were worth but also charged double the labor. I understand that garages upcharge for parts and labor costs are high to cover overhead and all. I could have bought the parts myself for anywhere from $48-$150 plus shipping. Instead I paid $775 for them. That is one hell of an upcharge. Not to mention the labor. Which is what it is. I will never be back and will tell everyone I know for the rest of my life how much of a rip-off that Midas is. I feel better now. Thanks for reading read more

Possibly one of my top 5 worst experiences. I made an online appointment for a Friday at 5:30, which per the website was available. I got a call the morning of the appointment advising me that I needed to cancel said appointment and make an earlier one. No specific reason was given though I asked multiple times and was given some crap line about how they aim to please. Miraculously I was able to get my originally scheduled appointment time only after I asked for employee names and the customer service number. Employees are rude and make you feel like your business is an annoyance. I do not recommend going here for any mechanical needs. It's my understanding this particular branch is a franchise. I hope the owner makes themselves aware of the horrible service as this was not the first, but will be my last bad experience at Midas. read more

Left my car there for an inspection and then got a call saying my windshield wipers/sprayers weren't working, and they'd take a look for $70 + their hourly fee to fix it. I told them I'd just come get the car and fix it myself, and when I got there the wipers worked fine! I showed them and finally they gave it a pass. Obviously a scam to take advantage of people who don't feel like driving back out and just want their car ready to go. Just go somewhere else, don't waste your time and money. read more

i have had my oil changed at Midas for the past twenty years, give or take. Always went there for the price, it's hard to beat a $20 oil change. My most recent dealing with Midas of Butler had me calling them on Wednesday, June 14, at 1:05 PM to set up an appointment of Monday, June 19, at 2PM. (Date of my call is taken directly from log of my cell phone). When I arrive on Monday for my appointment the manager, ROB, tells me that my appointment was for the previous Monday, June 12 and that I had missed it. Also said there is absolutely NO WAY it could have been entered incorrectly into his computer system as it will not allow appointments to be made for a date already passed. ROB tried to make me look foolish in front of the two other customers in the waiting room. Being the better man, I chilled and just made a new appointment for that Friday, the 23rd, at 8AM. When I arrived at that appointment ROB was not behind the counter and I got the oil changed, no problem. As I was paying for the service, since no one else was in the waiting room, I asked the man I charge if it was true that their computer would not make appointments for a previous date and he said NO, it certainly could be entered incorrectly. So ROB obviously lied to me, making it sound as if I was the one at fault for the missed appointment. Sounds like he has a prob like Fonzie, the guy on Happy Days who could never admit he was WWWWWWRONG. Bad trait for a manager. . read more

I had a 2pm appointment I showed up 15 minutes early for. I say there until 2:50 while the crew mostly stood around and talked and joked with each other. When I said something about the wait the guy told me there were no empty bays. There was empty bays when I got there and in the 50 minutes I sat there waiting. If I made an appointment why wouldn't there be a bay waiting for me when I got there? Isn't that what appointments are for? When I go to a hair appointment they are ready for me at my appointment time, that's how it's supposed to work. He seemed annoyed I even said something about it. I then waited an additional 45 minutes for them to inspect my car. This should be a 30 minute job at most. The waiting room had AC but it didn't work properly and it was very warm in there. How can a multimillion dollar company not have good working AC for their customers they make wait almost 2 hours? They didn't fill my washer fluid as they say they will as part of the service either. The only positive thing is it's pretty cheap to get your car inspected and they seem to do a thorough job of it. read more

I will never use Midas again! Back in June, I brought my car in to be serviced and have my brakes changed. Ended up being close to $1300 after all was said and done! Now, I here I am, sitting here, getting NEW BRAKES because they didn't change my back brakes, with an additional cost of close to $700! You are better off going to a dealer than coming here! even if you have an appointment, they can call you and cancel. so you reschedule and then drop your car off an hour early. you tell them you'll pick it up at closing. he is grateful because he was jammed up at the moment and he even jokes about a discount for being flexible. never mentioned that there was a possibility that it wouldn't be inspected. fast forward to 5 hours later. we call to see if it is done and they tell us that it was impossible to have it inspected that day. when we show up to get out car the shopmen are in the back chanting f*ck them over and over again when we walk in. he tells us appointments are nothing. coincedense, I think not. so I recommend any place but here. read more

Made an appointment for an oil change Saturday 2/16 for an appointment after work on Monday 2/19 for 5:30pm-6:00pm. I came in and the guy was already closing. Very upset. I drove all the way from Grove City to Butler and didn't get my oil changed. I saw the reviews online and I guess I should have known. Midas does not care about the bad reviews either. There are so many on Yelp and google and they have just done the "copy and paste" reply. Do something about this place! Going to try and make an appointment somewhere else. Ridiculous. read more

Britt quickly entered the information in the computer, let me know about special offers, got my car in the garage quickly, kept me updated on progress and helped me get my oil service for free. I have had two experiences with Midas of Butler. First, was for a state inspection. No issues what so ever and a great price. I called this morning and made an appointment for 1pm- I called at 9:47 am. I arrived 10 minutes early for the appointment and walked in with my documents. I tried to check in and the manager said,"you know it was 8am?" Hello, I called at 9:45. No apology for their mistake other than my next available is Wednesday.... well if you leave it I could look at it between jobs... I set an appointment for a reason. I would recommend that if you do make an appointment with this establishment double and triple check that whoever answers the phone has input your request in their appointment book correctly. read more

Do not take your car to this Midas. Sunday morning my car broke down (something to do with the front axel) and I had my car towed to then around 930 that same morning. Knowing that they were closed I planned to let them know right away so they could at least get started on Monday. It is now Wednesday and they brought my car into the garage for the first time at around 430pm and they still claim they did not have time to fix my car! And say they will finish up Thursday afternoon. This is outrageous to me. They claim it's taking so long because they were "having trouble getting it into the garage" but should it really take 3 days?? Telling me "oh we will get definitely get to it tomorrow" twice. Ive had problems in the past where I had to take my car back to them 3 times to fix their mistake on replacing my brake light switch. Very poor customer service in my opinion. Don't really prioritize they're time and it shows. Also very expensive. read more

I called ahead of time to schedule an appointment, attended the appointment, promptly, and was treated like a stupid woman that doesn't know anything about cars (they wouldn't even tend to my car).
