I would give it a 9 out of 10! No salt just full of flavor. And the Fried Calamari was outstanding! With creamy sauce. I wish they were more! The ambiance is attractive.

The woman taking our order at the counter was very nice and helpful. We ordered the krab kingz loaded platter that came with 1.5lbs of snow crab, 1/2 lb of shrimp, sausages, corn, eggs, and potatoes. It was the perfect amount to split between two people (we each had 2 crab hands, 2 sausages, a corn, an egg, and a few potatoes). You could choose two sauces to mix in, we did the cajun butter and lemon pepper. It was very tasty, but we wish it had more of a flavor/spicy kick to it. We had to keep dipping our food back in the bucket to collect more sauce/ flavor. We also shared an order of lobster bites (deep fried pieces of lobster). Very good and not too much batter. the lobster tasted fresh. we picked tartar and yum yum sauce to dip in. A very fun/delicious dinner and would definitely recommend checking it out.

We got a sampler platter that included some croquetas, plantain chips, tamal, fried pork chunks, and fried shrimp. Zero complaints about anything! So so good. My main was the Sopa de Res, which was a hearty soup. The serving size was gigantic. I actually took most of it back with me and it made two more meals. There were lots of root vegetables, slow cooked beef still on the bone, a side of rice and corn. My dad got a huge Cuban sandwich that he also ate on for days and my mom had empanadas, which I finished off for a third meal. We also went back for pie. That was ok - it was extremely rich and kind of pricy at $13 a slice. I also tried their Cortadito and took it to go. Great coffee as well. Highly, highly recommend eating here. The decor is fun and the wait staff super nice and patient with all our questions. They also have a separate ice cream shop across the parking lot.

My husband ordered a Cuban sandwich with French fries cooked to perfection in clean oil, and I had grilled chicken (pechuga à la Blanche) with beans, rice, and sweet plantain, along with cilantro sauce. The portion sizes are very generous and we each had leftovers for another whole meal. We will definitely be back! I also appreciated that the suggested tip amount started at 15%. We left more, but too many restaurants have the suggested tip amounts much too high. Do look at the menu item pricing, as some dishes were $75+. It may have been due to portion size as well as ingredients.

After two days of driving through snow storms and heavy rain and spending a night sleeping in the truck at a Cracker Barrel just outside Chattanooga, TN, we finally made it to South Florida. We had just arrived to the area and it was a bit late. We were driving through Homestead, FL. We were hungry looking for something to eat. We saw an open food stand serving Venezuelan food. My wife being Venezuelan, and my favorite food being a Cachapa, we hooked a u-turn and headed back to the food stand. I ordered the Venezuelan hamburger (Burger La Tuyera) and my wife ordered the Barrilla (mixed BBQ). This was the first time I have had a Venezuelan hamburger. It was a huge hamburger (see the pics). It had sausage, an egg, cheese (queso de mano), corn... it was awesome. My wife loved her order. She had been saying she could not wait to get down to Miami to get some delicious arepas. The selection of meats in mixed BBQ tasted great and were cooked perfectly. The arepitas tasted awesome. The food here at this food stand was definitely worth doing a u-turn for. The couple running the food stand were very friendly and welcoming. We will be returning another day to try out their cachapas!!

I have to return and try their burgers or carne en vara!!! 100 recommended!

The Search for the Perfect Whole Fish is Over If you live in…read moreSouth Dade or Homestead, you know the struggle: finding a restaurant that serves a high-quality, perfectly fried whole fish at a fair price feels almost impossible. I've been on the hunt for a while, and I'm happy to report that the search officially ends here. The Star of the Show I ordered the Fried Yellowtail, and it was exactly what I was craving. It was fried perfectly--crispy on the outside while staying tender and flaky on the inside. Honestly, it was so good I was tempted to order a second one just for the road. The Sides The meal came with rice, salad, and a side of fish soup. * Fish Soup: A great starter that set the tone for the meal. * The Salad: This deserves a special shout-out. It came topped with pickled onions, which added a bright, tangy crunch that cut through the richness of the fried fish beautifully. The Verdict This is a no-nonsense spot where the quality of the seafood speaks for itself. If you're tired of overpriced tourist traps or mediocre frying techniques, South Dade Fish Market is a breath of fresh air. Pro Tip: Don't skip the salad--those pickled onions are a game changer!
