Skilled, honest, and friendly auto mechanics. Highly recommended!…read more The "check engine light" on my Passat has been intermittently on and off for the past few months due to low fuel pressure warning. I took it to a VW dealer and was told that the fuel pressure sensor was faulty. A few hours after the sensor was replaced, the same problem came back again. I took the car back to the dealer and was told this time that the whole fuel delivery unit has to be replaced, for over $1000. I hesitated, and took the car to another auto repair shop for a second opinion, and after some diagnosis, the mechanic impatiently gave up and said such intermittent problems were very hard to catch and I should take the car back to the VW dealer as they have better diagnosis equipment. I was glad that I then made the decision to take my car to Great Savvy Services for help. A mechanic named Rick welcomed me and promised to do a thorough examination. He hooked a fuel pressure reader to my car and really took the time to patiently diagnose any potential problem. Eventually, he believed that it was still due to a faulty low fuel pressure sensor. I was at beginning in disbelief as the VW dealer had supposedly replaced it, and asked him to double check the fuel pump to see if it works properly. But Rick told me that my fuel pump was definitely good and affirmed it's the fuel pressure sensor. Rick was right: After he ordered a new sensor and installed it, the "check engine light" never came back on again! And while working on the diagnosis, he also replaced one of the faulty front parking lights on my car for free.

Nav and his crew are extremely knowledgeable and extremely honest. Definitely one of the best…read moremechanics I've ever been to. Just this week, I took my car to the dealership to have a check engine light and car acceleration problem inspected. The dealer located 2 issues that caused the check engine light, an engine issue and a transmission issue. They wanted $3000 for the former issue, and $5500 for the latter. This would've cost me more than my car was worth. I paid the dealership $170 for checking out the car (!), and left. Nav's crew fixed the engine issue for $190, and the check engine light went away. Turns out, the dealership wanted to replace the entire engine because of a small tear in an engine harness wire. Nav's crew fixed the wire and were happy to save me the unnecessary expense. The dealership also misdiagnosed an issue with the sensor as having been caused by the transmission. Nav knew that the acceleration issue I was experiencing had nothing to do with the transmission. All this was just this week. A while back, the check engine light had turned on for a different issue. Nav fixed the issue for a small fee, and the light went off. When the light went on a few weeks later, he took the car backed and fixed the issue for FREE (turns out it was a senor issue), because he didn't want to charge me twice. This happened several more times, and Nav didn't charge me ANOTHER PENNY. That is what an honest mechanic looks like. Unlike the dealership, who charged $170 just for checking and diagnosing the car, Nav never charged me unless he actually fixes my car. This is a mechanic you can trust.
