He said he gave me the best oil (Mobile1) and charged me 14.50 each quart but I went into the store and asked the clerk for oil used for my car which was in front , the clerk said he put in the oil and showed me what he used which was a lesser brand that cost $10. Not only that, the owner charged me for the filter, replaced the cap ($16) and said he replaced the air filter ($39.00) and the bill included maintenance ????? What maintenance? I never asked for maintenance. I was charged $190 for materials and $185 for labor. All for an oil change. He also charges the highest gas !!!!! Don't go there !!!!!! He is dishonest!

The car needed a complete assessment of the engine cylinder heads and a question of whether the challenges, length of time, repairs needed and expense would be worth the money. In the end, I decided it was all worth it, largely because I trusted Ralph and his team. I found Farrow's to be thorough, knowledgeable, honest, and communicative. Not so from a local dealer's Subaru service department which may have actually contributed to the problems with the engine (but I'll never know that for sure). My car was with Ralph and team for almost two months. Ralph never sugar coated anything -- was forthcoming about the time it would take for parts, repairs, etc, and the costs. They were diligent in working to diagnose the root cause, not just symptoms, to get it right. I picked up my car yesterday and needless to say: it's running great -- like having a completely new car (at 120k miles in). I would highly recommend Farrow's to anyone and will continue to bring my car there. A huge thank you to Ralph and master technician Bernie; can't say enough good things about them.
