We love the style of scandinavian design furniture. I usually do not post reviews. Here is our experience. We purchased the Holfred dining set and side board for our dining room. After 6 mo the tables showed signs of warping in the wood. We also had weird spots start showing up on the top of the sideboard (it was always covered with a piece of custom glass). Mike the store manager was so understanding and helpful and let me exchange it for a different piece (we did have the extended warranty). Then, we went back and bought another table for our kitchen.We purchased the Oliver. Once it was delivered, it just didn't look right in our kitchen. And when we fully extended it with the leaf, there was large gap in the middle and it was very noticeable.We went into this store within two days and stated we would like to exchange it for something else. Sam was obliged to do so, although we were told we had to pay a 20% stocking fee. We did end up exchanging for a different table at scandinavian design, but we did end up having to pay a $300 restocking fee. Seems excessive especially if you're exchanging becuase of a product your not satisfied with. So my advice is to make sure you ask them to open it if there's a leaf and really, really pay attention to the quality before you bring it home. We will still continue to buy from there.Although I will pay more attention to those aspects. read more

After a major kitchen remodel, we knew our dining furniture needed a refresh to match the new modern vibe of the space. I found some beautiful leather-like low profile dining chairs at Scandinavian Designs. The price was surprisingly reasonable for the quality - we have received quite a few comments from guests about how comfortable they are! This will definitely be our first stop the next time we need to shop for new furniture. One star off because there was no one around to assist me in lifting chairs down from a rack so I could test them out. Being pregnant at the time, it was something I would have appreciated help with! read more

Don't let them waste your time or money. We ordered 2 Arren bookshelves on June 16 and they were delivered today, December 19. We initially came here because we were tired of waiting for the IKEA BILLY units we wanted to be in stock. When we ordered our shelves, we were told there would be a little bit of a wait, as there was supposed to be another shipment coming in a couple months. We could expect them around August, but they could come in as late as September. Okay, not the most convenient but workable, we had already waited a few months for the IKEA shelves and these seemed really nice. We bought them and paid extra for assembly and delivery. In August, we stopped back at the store and asked about the delivery status. It was delayed until October... We called in October, and were told we could expect them in January or February. I eventually gave up and bought the IKEA shelves we initally wanted. Finally, the week before Thanksgiving we got a call that the shipment had arrived and we could schedule delivery and have the shelves assembled for an extra fee. We had been told we paid for assembly when we bought them, but we weren't going to pay for assembly twice so we scheduled the delivery and the shelves, predictably, arrived in several boxes IKEA-style. I just spent several hours putting the first one together. The shelves are twice as heavy as IKEA, despite being made of the same composite material, the back of the shelf is a laminate board instead of a solid piece like we assumed, and the individual shelves only hold 22lbs each - 1/3 of what the IKEA BILLY shelves will hold. So, do yourself a favor and do not order from Scandinavian Designs. The two positive things I can say are: the sales rep who initially sold us the shelves was very nice and the bookshelves look pretty in our house! read more

I've owned stressless for years, by far the best designed furniture I've ever found, I have good friends in Norway, which is how I came about finding out about stressless. The comfort is amazing, the color choices are beautiful, and the staff at the Roseville store are wonderful to work with. Sam in the Manager and he's the best. I've seen leather furniture much more expensive, and not nearly as plush at Stressless. They have other brands in the store also, if leather is not your first choice. read more

Good looking furniture, WORST place to buy anything. Have been waiting for almost 2 months for the bedroom set my husband bought me that is fully paid for. The customer service team in Roseville, MN is a TOTAL joke and the manager JP is a straight up liar. Also, after trying to work with him and his team to come to a resolution, I was treated poorly and he cancelled my order! We ended up contacting corporate to let them know what a horrible experience we had with this store and joke of a manager. They assured us that we'd get our stuff and we are still waiting. First of all, about three hours after making our purchase, the card used was used for several fraudulent purchases. This card had not been used anywhere else for quite some time. I would suggest checking your machines there. Second, when the associate, Sam, called to tell me the chair was in, he also asked for the balance due. I replied that we had financed it so there shouldn't be a balance due. He said that we had talked about financing it but didn't actually apply for it. I insisted we had and he immediately said "oh I see that now." Not a huge deal, but paired with the fraudulent credit card charges it seems sketchy at best. Especially when it takes two seconds to check these things before calling. Third, when I went to pick up the chair, he (Sam) informed me that the warehouse wasn't really prepped for pickups on Sunday but he would see if anyone could help me. This seems a) ridiculous and b) like something I should have been informed of. Finally, I was told that it would take about 15 minutes for my chair to be ready. After about twice that time, I asked an associate who was leaning against a wall staring at the door if she could check on it for me. She said "Yes, but I'm going to greet this customer first." There was no customer in sight. About five minutes later a warehouse guy came in to tell me it was ready. She was still leaning against the wall, no customer in sight. The only reason I gave it one star is because zero is not an option. read more

Update. Gerry went to return the poofs, still half opened on Saturday and it was the worst experience I could imagine. The lady accused him of just disliking the fabric and she had the nerve to say to the sales rep, that he changed his mind. Then said that they cannot guarantee the fabric quality and there will be variations in the fabric. That is so absurd. We did not buy this sticky icky fabric, we bought what was on the show floor. I know you have a NO RETURN policy, but you are only allowed to enforce that IF I actually received what you were selling. Not my fault these were disgusting. We would have rather kept them if they were in good repair and kept shopping here. However, because of the return experience, we will NEVER shop here again, even after your name changes to Scandinavian Whatever. My suggestion is even stronger now than before... RUN! RUN QUICK and never look back. ------------------------------------------ Run! Ordered two poofs. Came soiled, discolored, stained and sticky! Ick! Just run. They seriously only allow you to pick up items on Friday and Saturday and refuse to set things aside ( two table lamps) I am not available to go there on those days and after months of sharing this with them after many calls they finally suggested I have a friend pick them up. Couldn't they have suggested that on the first call? Great furniture, not so great customer service, I'm not the person that thinks the customer is always right, I'm just asking for some flexibility, or kindness or an effort to make things work. read more

The furniture has a modern aesthetic. My wife and I need a couch for a rental we had last year. I anticipated replacing it after the year was up so the quality wasn't important to me initially. We wanted it to look modern and we knew we had a small budget. Not only did this couch meet our budget, it stood the tests of my toddler and large Black Lab. It has great construction. Including zip on cushions and the top edge of the back of the couch folds down to fit through 30" doors. (this proved important in our old rental house!) We liked it so much that we decided to purchase a bed frame too! read more

Now that I am an adult, it is nice to have real furniture. IKEA is affordable, but I find much of their furniture flimsy. Despite making "real" money, I do not want to spend it all on high end furniture such as Room & Board, though I have also purchased from them. Dania is an excellent compromise. I would describe it as an upscale IKEA. The furniture is unique and brings a different energy. Prices are a little higher than IKEA but so is the quality. we purchased a round top table which we were quite pleased with but shortly after it was delivered and installed the legs became wobbly.. contacting Scandinavian Design, they promptly arranged to have an agent come out to examine the problem. the agent was right on time and had the issue corrected in less than 10 minutes which left us very satisfied with what could have been a very contentious issue. read more

New to the twin cities so while out shopping for furniture at all the usual dives, I took a wrong turn and ended up at Scandinavian Designs purely by accident. When I walked in it was love at first sight! Items are modern, better quality than IKEA but not break the bank expensive. I've ordered some nice items from them. The pieces Scandinavian Designs offers are refreshing and interesting, and the prices are excellent for the quality. Positives end there, though. I can understand why deliveries might be delayed right now, thanks to supply chain shortcomings due to the pandemic, but nobody should have to go through the SAGA we did, just to get the furniture we paid for. Scandinavian Designs either had a serious inventory system meltdown or were lying to us to cover their butts. We were quoted 2-3 weeks for our order of six small items. At the 3-week mark, we get a call from Mike asking US if we'd received our merchandise (he had no clue from the system), and we hadn't. After two more weeks of silence, I called back weekly for three weeks and was given the run-around from Mike and Val, who had no clue the status of the order (on one call, Val actually promised to check the stockroom and call me back, then she called back an hour later to ask me to remind her what I was calling about...then told me the order would be arriving in two more days, which it did not). Apathetic and blase service all around. Finally, at the 8-week mark, some progress: JP, the manager, answers the call, offers the very first apology of any of the staff so far, and provides a discount. A week later, we have all but one piece. Picked up the final piece yesterday...17 weeks after our early June order was placed. Not impressed. read more

I would have loved to have loved this store. We ordered bedroom furniture in January, and we were told it would be about a month until it came in. Ok. We called in February, and found out that it would be another month. Hmmm. In early April, we learned that the order would not be in until early May. At no point did they call us, we called them. Last week, the delivery company called to set up delivery. I stopped by Dania to go over everything and to pay the balance. They offered to reduce the delivery charge from the outer Metro rate to the Metro rate, about $50 less. The delivery guys were to arrive between 1:30 and 4:30. They arrived shortly after 6. They had no instructions to assemble (despite my discussion with the Dania rep, in person, the evening prior). After numerous phone calls, the exhausted-looking delivery guys did assemble the bed. I put my clothes in my new dresser yesterday. The handle pulls were not screwed on and one assembly fell apart. I called Dania, asked for the manager, and I was told he was at lunch. I left a detailed message. I did not get a call back, So, I would not recommend Dania at all. We had way better customer service at HOM and at Becker. read more

Hi. I made my first visit to SD and watched the three sales people vigorously engaged in visiting with themselves. They never acknowledged me or said Hello. After touring the main level on my own, I asked what was in the upper level (since there was no signage) and again was on my own to look around. They were still visiting later when I came down the stairs. Never did a sales person approach me until I was going out the door. Interesting furniture. Had possibilities for me to revamp my entire living room. Poorest customer service ever. I won't be back. Too disappointed. read more

Do not special order with this company they will hold your money even when it takes them 5 months to get their product. I order 10k worth of chairs in early October of 2017 did not arrive until early March of 2018. Very poor communication during the process. Did not except delivery of chairs after freight company said they only had one of the two chairs that I had ordered. Now they are wanting to hold deposit . Please do not due business with this very unprofessional company. The worst communication I have every been through on a 10 thousand dollar order. read more

If your considering purchasing furniture from Dania, one word of advice: DON'T. We purchased a "new" sectional. It took weeks to arrive and when it did, it had a three inch hole in the chaise with large staples sticking out. The process over the next couple of months to get it repaired was painful to say the least. In fact the couch, made by Rowe furniture, was so cheaply put together that the inspector said there were several places that were sewn poorly/inaccurately. I wrote a letter to the store manager informing him of our frustrations including that scheduling at "our convenience" really was only at Rowe's . On top of buying a defective piece of furniture, we had to take of 2+ days off of work unpaid - and they did not finish the job the first time around because the person was late. The store manager wrote us a letter saying we would not be reimbursed anything and that it was "our inability to schedule the repair that certainly added to the time it took to complete the job." - he also included a piece of paper from Rowe saying we were "very difficult customers to schedule". What he seemed to forget is that the reason any of this was taking place is because they delivered a defective/crappy piece of furniture - which had to have both arms rebuilt in our livingroom - and at THEIR convenience, not ours. Please do yourself a favor - don't waste your time with this place. Absolutely no customer focus - even though more than happy to make the sale - for the sake of their commission. If you are thinking of purchasing furniture - go to Room and Board, Gabberts, Crate and Barrel - heck even Slumberland - where you'll get much better service and better quality hands down. read more

My wife and I recently upgraded our bed (previous bed purchased at Scan Designs tent sale as well) and we realized last evening that the headboard didn't fit the other parts of the bed. We were disappointed and frustrated to say the least. I called this morning and spoke with Rebecca, our sales associate. She listened, didn't interrupt, and said she'd look into it and have someone contact me. I received a call from Paul, the sales manager, about 30 minutes later and he immediately wanted to make things right and make sure they figured out what was going on so other customers wouldn't be impacted. An hour later, their delivery partner showed up at my door, took measurements and validated that the manufacturer had provided bad information to Scan Designs, resulting in the incorrect boxes/SKUs being given to us. The deliver guys headed back to Scan Designs to get the correct headboard, came right back and assembled the bed without saying a word. The topic of a charge never came up and 10 mins later the bed was together. Sure, it would have been great if the mistake had never happened, but sometimes things happen. This feedback is a result of HOW the mistake was handled and I'll remain a loyal customer as a result. Keep up the great work!
