There was a sign that said, "fairly cool" inside which was enticing in this heat. The owner was kind of enough to throw out my unwanted ice cream cone and then directed us over to what we were looking for. Place is jammed packed with lots of old stuff for a trip down memory lane. Lots of old treasures, luggage, furniture, signage, window panes and more downstairs. Will go back when it's not so hot out to take a look around. Trying to maneuver around a packed place sweating was not a good time, but found what we were looking for which made the visit worthwhile! If the NKOTB watch is still there... who knows? The owner is very nice and very helpful.

When I got there I could tell right away that they were not a consignment shop, all pieces are original and very unique! Prices aren't too shabby either. I have a couple photos attached but I could've spent the day. I'm still trying to figure out what pieces I can't live without but I could spend a fortune! The sales associate was friendly and not overbearing. Check it out if you're looking for some accent pieces, night stands, TV stand, tables, chairs, and bookcases. They have something for everyone: industrial, modern, post-modern, country, Southwest, rustic, anything. Very unique colors, distressed, clean finished. In fact, we saw a good deal of empty nesters shopping here on Sat morning. Aside from furniture, this is a great place to stop in for gifts and home kitsch. This showroom for the home is open, bright and positively stunning. Roam is a store that won't please everybody, but it will please those with modern taste and a deep pocketbook. It would also be a good place to buy an interesting wedding gift if you have very posh friends. Between high-end imported furniture to... well, still very high-end local goods (Blu Dot), there's lots of room to browse here. I must admit that Roam doesn't quite roam into my budget or personal style. When the friendly owner (I think) began to explain some of the designers they carry, I wanted to stop her and say, "All my furniture is from craigslist, m'lady." Still, I can appreciate what they are doing here. In my brain, it roams more into the category of frivolity-that-might-actually-be-kind-of-awesome.

They have an outside area with giant letters from signs, garden items and such. The main rooms upstairs are all kinds of random pieces of art, photos and supplies, dolls and more and downstairs they have even more stuff to check out. Jam packed, can be a bit overwhelming. It was my first time going and didn't really know what to expect but I'll for sure be back to grab some things for my scrapbooks & other art projects. I will say it's a bit crowded & very warm, they did have fans in the basement which was nice.

I wasn't looking for anything in particular (curiosity brought me in after a trip to Guild), but the person working at the time was very nice and informative about the shop, which opened up in the last year. Ciel is a solid furniture alternative to chain stores like World Market. I think my taste is little more modern (and they DO have some more modern styled pieces), but if you are into the shabby chic look, you're in luck. This place will be full of treasures for you.

Frustrated at being able to get anyone to help me, I left. Today, I had a project, and I needed to find some old wood for shelving, so I went to the new location thinking it might be better. It wasn't. It was possibly worse. I think I was the only customer in the entire store, yet, I still could not get any help. The other people in the store - I thought they were customers at first, until I went upstairs, when one followed me up and turned on a light and then left, so maybe they worked there (or not). I had a piece I wanted to buy in hand, but when I approached them, they ran away to the back of the store. It is so rare and disturbing to want to give someone money, but not to be able to do so. I hate this place: so many great items and no way to buy them. I wish them luck. They will need it. I will take my business elsewhere.
