Amateur hour. Nice beds, ok staff, over priced and a little desolate. Trying hard to be worth the cost.

Top tier amenities! The free breakfast buffet is out of this world. There was a hot buffet with…read moresausage, vegetarian baked beans, potatoes, and eggs cooked 3 different ways. Then a different section for fruit, yogurt, breads, and cold cuts with all the toppings you can imagine. My favorite were the crepes, which I topped with nutella and sprinkles. For breakfast there is a special coffee machine that makes lattes, cappuccinos, hot chocolate and more. Then there is coffee and tea available in the lobby 24/7. All of the sitting areas inside and outside were comfortable and had plenty of space. There is a game room, where my dad and I picked up a chess board so we could play. The highlight of our stay was that the hotel is situated on the fjord, providing a beautiful view and serne setting in nature. The trail from the hotel goes all through the trees and along the water. I really enjoyed taking walks around the area. Even though the location is not in the city center, its very easy to get around by bus, having the Fornabuparken stop for bus #31 right infront of the hotel. The bus ran frequently into town and runs 24 hours a day. I would choose this location again in a heartbeat. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable, we stayed in a twin room, and it had space to move around and place our luggage. The gym is above what I would expect in a hotel, full weight room with a few machines and treadmills. There was enough space and a mat for me to do a little yoga. The staff really goes above and beyond, we unexpectedly extended our stay into my birthday, and they gave me a few treats and were so kind. They host special events and have been playing the world cup games on a theatre sized screen in their viewing room. They even played the Norway-England match, which was madness in the lobby, though they contained it well. That event was ticketed even though it was free, my only complaint was they let people who weren't in line get tickets, so not everyone who was actually in line got to go in.

Stayed here one night and found it a practical option due to proximity to the Telenor arena. The…read morehotel felt quite empty with few guests and large, open rooms. The large lobby left an impression of little intimate atmosphere, and the bar was closed. Room was small, outview was across the building to the next corridor, and there was no coffee in rooms. Fortunately the staff was friendly and breakfast very nice. Take into consideration that my stay was just after the reopening of the society post-covid pandemic.

I just returned from three days at Thon Hotel Panorama. I had a room on one of the upper floors and…read morethe view was great. I think most if not all rooms are small studios with kitchenettes. Taking the prices into consideration it can save some $$$ if you cook in your room. The rooms also have a balcony for the smokers and to enjoy the sunset with a view. The staff was great and very attentive and I got caught up chatting with the guy at the reception for 30 minutes when I wanted to check out and leave. Great folks. If you are there in winter and like the outdoors and would like to do what the locals do take T1 to Frognerseteren where you can rent a slay and do some sledding. During the weekends half Oslo is up there. During the week it's quieter. You can also do cross country skiing there or just go for a wander. It's great and you have a nice view over the Oslofjord!

Heated floors in the bathroom. Only drag was no bathtub but oh well. Everything is in excellent condition and well designed. The breakfast was seriously amazing. My coworker and I each had 3 rounds. Not crap quality buffet at all, and a very nice breakfast room to boot. The wifi worked perfectly the whole time I was there. It's close to downtown but a bit out of the main madness and close to the water. It won the best of TripAdvisor in 2012 and I can see why. Am I allowed to say that here? =oP I would definitely recommend staying here!
