I had a short but nice stay at Scandic Ku'damm this week. I stayed one night in a single room on the fourth floor facing the street.
The building itself isn't much to look at... it's a bit of a stucco monster from (I'm guessing) the 70s, but the interIor is in good condition, and it's comparable to many other budget hotels I've stayed in before.
The single room is really only a room for one person, with a twin bed, private bathroom, small desk, TV, and mini-bar. Despite its size, everything fit nicely and the bed was comfortable.
The location is great. Despite being pretty close to the Ku'damm and the heart of West Berlin, there wasn't any noticeable street noise. The hotel is on a relatively small and quiet street.
The staff was very friendly and lenient. I happened to miss checkout (at noon) by a few minutes, and they didn't bat an eye.
I would gladly stay here again, and recommend it to other travelers who are looking for a well-priced, decent hotel in a great location. read more
