"Outstanding Design, Install and Value from Boss Energy"…read more Reviewed Jan 08, 2020 I did extensive research before pulling the trigger on installing a solar energy system. Being an engineer, I got way down into the weeds. Orrie Boss of Boss Energy was the only company that took the time and effort to satisfy all my questions. He often asked clarification questions and provided excellent options. It's very important to select a company with sufficient depth of a range of expertise to cover all the bases. Construction experience, licensed electricians, design, access to latest equipment and numerous local solar energy installations to name a few. Boss had it all. They had a master electrician on their staff, Chris Gallagher, that had previously done the wiring for my house renovation. I consider him the best I've ever worked with. He figured out a way to run the array conduit without running it over the roof like other contractors suggested. Much more aesthetically pleasing. I can't say enough to express my satisfaction with Boss Energy, especially Orrie Boss, on the outstanding installation of my system. All contract aspects were completed on time using the exact equipment specified. He was extremely responsive to my numerous inquiries before and after installation. My system is operating perfectly just as he designed it. I'm a very satisfied customer and would not hesitate to use Boss Energy in the future. Another big plus for Boss Energy is that they are certified Tesla Powerwall installers along with installing home electric vehicle charging stations. They will be doing the install if I upgrade.

So far so good and so am just writing this in case someone is considering making the same mistake…read morewe made. We did NOT use Boss Energy for our solar install and we should have. Instead we used a huge national company. In our defense, we didn't know about Boss Energy when we made our choice and the big company looked like a local company because the sales person was a local person we had met socially. Things went pretty well for the first year but then the big company went belly up and our "friend" ghosted us. Now the system has shut itself down and our customer service person at Berkeley Electric suggested we call Boss Energy. Jared answered the phone (what- an actual human?? How 1990s of them!) and immediately went into problem solving mode. The problem is not yet fixed, but I have a good feeling about Boss Energy!

We switched to solar about 2 years ago and we couldn't be happier with the change to our bill…read more The company during install was amazing and easy to work with. That said, this year, due to storm damage we need to have them removed to complete the roof and siding work. It has now been over a month and it took us emailing, calling;- even after paying, to get put on the schedule. First we were told that they did not understand that we paid, apologized and swore that they would get us on the schedule. Two weeks later and another couple of follow ups. We finally are on the schedule for October. We started this process in JULY. NOT Happy. I would have given them a 1 but it was truly 5 star service for install. I recommend getting solar but make sure your roof is new or close to new before going through with it. At least you will have less of an issue to get service.

While they did "flash" the multiple holes that should not have been made, VES has yet to fulfill their promise to return and completely repair and replace the damaged shingles. I have emailed them MULTIPLE times, and while they do eventually reply, it is now almost November and yet again their replies have ceased and no final repairs have been done. We are trying to change HOI Companies and cannot get wind and hail insurance because of the damage VES caused to our roof. At this point we have no choice but to file suit for the repairs and hire a roofing company ourselves to make the needed repairs. Very disappointed in this company, their customer service and their unwillingness to follow through with their promises.
