SC Companies was contacted by my Condominium Management for water remediation and restoration work 2 months ago. Although the remediation work was completed, restoration was only partially completed before they went MIA (talked to Vincent who said he was one of the owners who promised to get back to me the next day...and that was weeks ago). During their original remediation this involved them pulling up my carpet and removing the padding with the nails sticking up towards walking feet...as I write this my home is still in this state. Even my condo manager contacted him for scheduling and crickets (no response). I rarely leave bad reviews, but feel the need to warn others. read more

I live in a Condo in Ashburn VA. and had water damage to my floors and walls from the unit above me. My HOA insurance company uses SC Companies for repairs of my condo. It has been over 8 weeks since SC Companies started repairs to my condo. The Sub-Contractors they use are terrible to say the least. The drywall company painted over the wet drywall compound before it dried resulting cracks and uneven surfaces. They damaged my AC ducting while painting inside AC / Heating closet and I was promised by the SC Project Supervisor he would have an AC Tech come out to fix the ducting which has never happened. The Project Supervisor ordered the wrong color of flooring 4 weeks ago and still awaiting to be contacted when they are scheduling the flooring repairs. There is no follow-up from the Project Supervisor on how the repairs are going. Today they scheduled the drywall contractor to come back and redo the work they messed up on their last visit. They were supposed to arrive between 10am and 12 noon. By 3:30 pm I had to leave for work. When I called the SC Companies Project Supervisor, and inquired why the drywall contractor never showed up he said they were at my building knocking on the lobby entry door trying to gain access. I asked Vincent why they didn't call his office and have them call me so I could go to the lobby and let them in. His answer was he didn't have my phone number. My replay to him why didn't you call the office to get my number. No good answer as to not following up with a call to me. During the past 8 weeks I had lost 2 days of work income waiting around for SC Companies or their Subcontractor to conduct repairs. To date the only thing I can say a least my hardwood floors are dry, other than that no other repairs have been completed. It looks like I will have to repair the walls myself this week-end To summarize SC Companies will not follow-up on the progress of repairs. They make commitments and never follow-thru. read more

SC Companies is awesome! We had a water pipe burst at our brand new condo last July which damaged our whole condo/2 levels and SC Companies rebuilt our home. It was even BETTER than when we purchased it. Jenny, the owner, is awesome. She is very responsive, timely and flexible with us. She kept us updated with everything and worked around our schedules which is a big plus. They did everything within a month and we've been back home and couldn't be happier hiring them. SC Companies did work at my house in response to a claim that I made with the builder (Lennar). At the time the original work was completed by this company I gave them an outstanding review on 1/10/15. The observations I made in this review were true with the information available to me at the time, however, some of the statements I made were a result of me taking these seemingly knowledgeable employees at their word. In retrospect, this was a grave error. The work SC was hired to do was to locate a water leak from the exterior of the home and fix the damage that had occurred. During the initial consultation I directed the employees to what I thought was the source of the leak where the roof of a sun room connected to the siding on the main residence. This was quickly dismissed as the source of the leak by them. They later stated that they had determined the leak was originating from an area around a window. They seemed to know what they were doing so I took them at their word. This repair work was completed and at the time I was happy with the work. Due to the fact that the area where the water was leaking into the home was not highly visible it was not until just recently that we again noticed the same damage reoccurring. Based on the extent of the damage it is clear that the water had again been entering the home for some time. Another company was brought out to identify the leak and within 15 minutes the worker was able to determine that the exact area where I had originally identified as the possible leak was in fact where the issue was. After a 30 minute quick fix the leak has been resolved leaving behind significant water damage. I made contact with SC Companies who quickly dismissed any responsibility stating they were limited in their scope of work by the builder. They also added that it could have possibly been related to other leaks that had appeared since they had done their work. In this case, I will defer to the facts. There was a leak in the exact same place before and after they did what they called work that was performed well. After realizing they were not going to take any responsibility for their workmanship, I offered them several opportunities to come inspect the damage in the event they encountered a similar issue in the future. They had no interest in the offer and ultimately stopped responding to my emails. My perception of a quality company may be a bit antiquated, but I would assume that any company who wanted to serve their customers with the best quality product would have jumped at this opportunity to learn from a trained professional who was able to fix a leak that they could not. This company may be good at cleaning carpet, but after my experience I would not trust them with work much more technical beyond that. read more
