Pistachio Pesto & Pork Trifecta -- A Standout Pie Outside New York…read moreThis place serves some of the best pizza I've had outside of New York, with a wood-fired crust that's perfectly charred and chewy. The service was exceptional--friendly, professional, and genuinely warm, the kind that makes you feel like you're eating in your nonna's kitchen. Pistachio Pesto The Pistachio Pesto pie is a masterclass in balance and richness. Split Creek Farms fromage blanc lends a bright, tangy creaminess that keeps the base from feeling heavy, while house-made pistachio pesto and ground pistachio bring a nutty depth and subtle earthiness. Crème fraîche adds lush texture, and the duo of mozzarella and Parmigiano-Reggiano provides the ideal stretch and savory finish. It's indulgent without being cloying, with the pistachio's natural sweetness playing beautifully against the salty, umami notes of the cheeses. Pork Trifecta The Pork Trifecta is a bold, satisfying choice for anyone who loves deep, meaty flavors. A bright red sauce anchors the toppings, while house-made sausage, pepperoni, and Palmetto Provisions bacon layer smokiness, spice, and salinity. Mozzarella melts into a silky blanket, and Parmigiano-Reggiano sharpens every bite. The result is a hearty, well-structured pie where no single element overwhelms--just a fabulous combination of ingredients that sings. Final Thoughts Between the wood-fired execution, top-tier ingredients, and genuinely welcoming service, this spot delivers a memorable experience. The Pistachio Pesto and Pork Trifecta are both must-tries, and the overall vibe makes it easy to see why this place leaves a lasting impression. Amazing--and I won't forget how wonderful this meal was

Watching our pizza go into the real wood-fired oven made me regret every year I spent not eating at…read moreEVO. We didn't necessarily come in chasing the local-favorite pistachio pesto pizza, but unfortunately for our future cravings, there is a reason people talk about it. That pizza was ridiculous in the best way. The crust, which is AMAZING, had those blistered, chewy edges that make you immediately respect the dough, and the pistachio pesto was rich, nutty, and glossy without turning the whole thing into a heavy cheese situation. Every slice felt like it had a little extra personality. We sat where we could see the pizza being made, which is both charming and mildly torturous when you're hungry. Dough, toppings, oven, waiting. A tiny drama in four acts. The wood-fired oven was doing the kind of work that made me wonder why we waited years to show up. The place itself feels like a real neighborhood pizza spot: worn wood tables, red and golden walls, local art, chalkboard beer list, and enough character that even the bathroom wanted to be part of the review. I'm honestly sad we waited this long. EVO has clearly been over here doing its thing, and we were just late to the party.

BRING A TAPE MEASURE!!!…read more I've never been anywhere that serves a larger slice than Benny R. does. And it's soooo yummy. The crust has just the right amount of chew--enough to give it character without feeling doughy. The cheese is impressively balanced and not overly greasy. I have a little ritual I call the "dab test" to see how much excess oil ends up on the slice. At some pizza places, it takes three or more napkins. Here, there was barely anything to blot. The sauce is excellent. I've had pizza where the garlic dominates every bite, but Benny R.'s strikes a great balance. Every ingredient complements the others, creating a flavorful sauce that enhances the pizza rather than competing with it. Pizza, 5:5. As for the atmosphere, it has exactly the kind of charm you'd hope for in a neighborhood pizza shop. It's casual, welcoming, and comfortable without trying to be overly polished. If you make your way to the back, you'll find a fun surprise. There's a bar, games, and a few other touches that make it a great place to hang out beyond just grabbing a slice. Ambience, 5:5 I really enjoyed the service. John took great care of me. He was friendly, courteous, attentive, conversational without being intrusive, and efficient. It's hard to ask for much more than that. Service, 5:5

stopped in after an event because we had a craving for pizza. I appreciate that they are open late…read more& you don't have to buy a whole pizza - one slice is plenty big! I ordered the special of the day, the bacon cheeseburger. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but it was a little extra crispy and honestly, I really appreciated it. Often, it's soft/floppy, but that extra crunch was nice! I also enjoy the interesting variety of soda options - I chose a blueberry, which was interesting. The person running the counter was nice & friendly - they ended up getting slammed/busy after we got our order, but she was working her butt off to take care of everyone. The space looks very small up front, but it extends to the tap room in the back, which we didn't get a chance to check out on this visit. I would stop back in for another slice if in the area.
