I found this company on my own (No referral) I liked the website, saw complimentary reviews, and went with it (Mark O'Halloran) You know what's hard? It's having an injury that no one sees (I have a post-concussion syndrome from a rear end accident) Sometimes my own kids would say, "Come on!" thinking I couldn't really have forgotten things I should have remembered (important things) Now - how to get an insurance company to take you seriously? Well, that was Mr. O'Halloran's job. He was 100% committed to taking my case to trial if necessary. I never sensed he wanted to settle. His main focus was honoring what I wanted to do. We went through mediation (a step to take before trial) and I didn't have high hopes. The opposing insurance company had low-balled and dragged their feet every step of the way. I assumed they'd give me a low settlement offer and we'd head off to court. But that didn't happen. Mr. O'Halloran had done his homework and presented a compelling case. The opposing insurance offered a lot more than I thought. Now I have some money tucked away for retirement and I didn't have to convince strangers (the jury) that even though I looked perfectly normal, I wasn't. And even after the large settlement offer, Mr. O'Halloran did not put any pressure on me to settle. He told me it was my decision and he'd stand by me. with whatever choice I made. And I believed him. We were on Zoom, and I could see on his face 100% sincerity. He put my best interests before money. Do I recommend this office? - YES, I'd hire them in a heartbeat - for me, my kids, friends, etc. Their biggest assets are honesty, empathy, transparency, and results. (And good advice) The bottom line, I felt valued and respected through the entire process. I believe Mr. O'Halloran sincerely felt bad that I was going through not only physical and emotional challenges, but also legal. The accident and resulting injuries were horrible (the lowest spot in my life) but Mr. O'Halloran made it bearable. And now when I think about my accident, I actually have some good feelings around it which is a miracle in itself!

I knew it was going to be very difficult- basically no chance my ex was going to be reasonable. I was referred to Larry by a friend. He was one of a couple of attorneys who spent a meaningful amount of time with me without charging me for the consultation. I was convinced that I needed a tough attorney to deal with my ex. Larry made a case that he could be tough if necessary but my family's interests would be best served if he took the approach of being reasonable. As it turns out this was the right approach. Dealing with my ex ended up being much worse than I imagined- in ways that I didn't see coming. It would have been easy to try some hardball approach and maybe it would have even worked. However, knowing what I know now, it's clear that I wouldn't have come out with anything more than I did taking the reasonable negotiation approach. We took a hard stance a couple times as needed but only as needed and it was definitely the way to go. I didn't know it when I hired him but one of the most important attributes that I needed out of a family law attorney was having one that I felt like I could really talk to and actually trust; one that genuinely cared about me and my family. Larry explained things in a way that allowed me to think through my options, negotiate properly and end up with the best reasonable outcome. It's also worth mention that what he charged me was fair. I've had friends who had their attorney run the bill up on them. It can happen easily in a case where there's a lot of conflict. Larry kept the hours within reason- especially in light of how difficult my case was. One last item that tells you a little about him. My case needed to be done by the end of the year in order for my maintenance payments to be deductible. This would mean more money for me and my kids and indirectly even for my ex which will be good in the long run. Larry of course recognized this. He actually came home early from his Christmas holiday vacation with family on the east coast just to be here in time to get everything finalized. It would have been easy and understandable if he had just said "look I tried but we just couldn't get it done in time" but he didn't do that. He really does care. Btw, I read his reviews. I suspect that any sour grapes are probably from somebody who had an axe to grind- not legitimate. Larry and his staff are solid. Communication and follow-up was great. In fact, I'm pretty disorganized and they kept me on track.

I didn't talk to her as much as my husband did, but I did have two conference call with her and felt that she cared. She not just do it for a living. Some attorneys, like therapists, don't listen to you and make you feel like they care. She was different though, her name was Jo Flannery if you want to request to work with her. Sometimes I feel like people lose patient with me in a professional setting because I am ESL, but Jo would break things down so I could understand everything. So if English is your second language, she could be a good pick for you at this law firm. They have attorneys with different specialty. I needed one for real estate and she knew all the laws very well.

But the department wasn't going to give in. They brought out all the big guns to beat my case - a complicated case they were not willing to cede. And even in light of a difficult case (where others would not take the case), WLC and Sara did - all the way to the Supreme Court. That means there was definitely something to fight for, and Sara fought for it. Yes, we lost. That's unfortunate for such a long fight for me then Sara. But I don't think anyone else would have done any better - especially since others wouldn't even touch it - even though they agreed that I had a strong case. WLC took the challenge on! They do not respond in any other way except email, and each of those adds up. I regret everything about using this law firm. We are out $11K and have nothing to speak from it. I would sue them but they are a law firm, so I wouldn't expect to win. USE ANY OTHER LAW FIRM is my only advice. To give even more details, they admittedly forgot they were our client about a year after we started. One day my wife and I were like "What happened to our Will and Trust update?". So we contacted Brothers and they legitimately had no idea what we were referencing. I think they charged us another $$ to re-review all of our documents. What I have right now is about a dozen amendments for revisions to our original Will and Trust. Not even an actual Will and Trust, just a "plan" to revise it. If I were to finish it would cost me thousands. But, I have no idea because i cannot get a meeting with them because they are non responsive and when I try to communicate there goes another $25 to Tracy Billington for reading and responding to my email.
