Very clean, well organized store. The staff is extremely helpful and knows their products and where they are , when we checked out. They were extremely friendly, and the young guy who helped us gave my dog a biscuit. That writes him a five and a reason to return to the store for that alone. I had shopped here for years fire moving to town. My most amazing memory of this place was an extraordinarily hot morning when I needed to find bolts that would fit my kayak racks. It was in the 90s before 10 in the morning when I got there. My SUV is black but the owner or manager help me put the bolts on just secure the rack even though we were both blistering in the sun. With the Home Depot's of the world you would think this place would offer lots of customer service. I'm afraid not. Most employees are totally disinterested teenagers, who know nothing. They need to follow the model of Ace Hardware in Clinton. It's the complete opposite. read more

This store is the best! The staff is so pleasant and helpful and they really know their stuff. Brian went above and beyond by picking up an oversized patio screen door that wouldn't fit in my SUV, replaced the screen and it was delivered back to my house before I even got home that same day! You would never get this type of service from a big box store, if you could get any service at all. read more

This is by far the best hardware store I have ever done business with. And I'm old. The second you walk in you are met with an employee that really know's their store. From a 17 cent screw to a $400.00 custom made rope mat, they have everything. I haven't been to a big box store since I started spending summers in OS. I ordered a barbecue grill from this store and found the manager, Brian, to be very helpful. I live in NY and this grill was a gift for a family member living near Old Saybrook. I researched prices online, found the one I wanted at Acehardware.com. Then, I called Brian on the phone. He ordered the grill, assembled it, and delivered it.
