Sawtelle's has been a Kingston mainstay since at least 1981, the first time I remember going with my parents to pick up takeout. It's still a classic. Last night I picked up a cheeseburger sub with pickles to kick off trivia night at the local brewery. It was a takeout order, so I brought it over to the brewery and unpacked it at the bar. I got so many inquiries about where I got such a delicious looking sub. So good!

The best pizza around. New owners are great. Couldn't recommend more. Always the same so you know exactly what you're getting

I had the best Italian sub, I've ever had in life here. No substitutions had it make how they make it. All ingredients super fresh down to the sub roll. I'm extremely picky person who wanted pizza and it sucks that they don't do slices. Normally order small subs and never finish them. This sub was off the charts bomb...hit all my taste bud. Definitely going back...exceeded well over my expectations.

My attempt at containing myself long enough to snap a shot of the delicious food.

Got a cup of coffee as well because your day hasn't really started until you've had your first cup. The owner does a phenomenal job of turning out these hearty and delicious starts to your day. The eggs and cheese are HOT and well seasoned with a simple combo of salt and pepper. The pork belly was a delicious bit of protein and completed a well made sandwich. The bagel has a crust on the outside but isn't chewy, just the way it should be. The coffee, not the star of the show and adequately does the job but I like a cup with a bit more strength and vigor! Definitely worth a re-visit and this time, based on a recommendation from a local, will be trying the short rib as the protein.

From start to finish, Keegan was incredibly professional, attentive, and genuinely invested in bringing our vision to life. He helped us design a fully custom three-tier ube coconut cake with Swiss meringue buttercream, and the final result was beyond anything we imagined. Keegan even coordinated seamlessly with our florist to incorporate beautiful florals into the design, making the cake a true centerpiece at our reception. It not only looked breathtaking but tasted absolutely amazing--our guests are still talking about it! We wholeheartedly recommend Keegan Kreations to anyone looking for a wedding cake that's as delicious, beautiful, and thoughtfully custom-made as ours.

Found a table indoors (outdoor seating available as well) with ample room for all five of us including dolls, cards, and toys. I ordered a Bloody Mary made with a local alcoholic seltzer which was a great drink but also a significant appetizer with all the fixings. I ordered the "Luca Brazi" sandwich which was excellent and took home half the sandwich for dinner tonight. *Important footnote...I NEVER have leftovers when I order dinner. I ALWAYS eat EVERYTHING!! I highly recommend if you are a tourist (or a local) take the two block walk from visiting The Plymouth Rock and enjoy a great meal and drinks at THE VITAMIN SEA RESTAURANT!!

Vitamin Sea Brewing is a craft brewery that opened in Weymouth, Massachusetts in February 2019. It…read morewas founded by business partners Dino Funari, Pete Kiley, Josh Sherman and Richard DiBona. Funari, Kiley and Sherman frequently got together on weekends to embrace their love of homebrewing. After doing this for a number of years, and building up a local following distributing their home-brews from a blue cooler, they decided to open a brick & mortar brewery and taproom. At this time, DiBona came on board as a partner and assisted with the search for a location. After exausting all options in the seaside town of Hull, the partners acquired a 3,000-sq-ft space in the "craft beer friendly" town of Weymouth. The name "Vitamin Sea" was chosen to reflect Funari's love of surfing and surf culture. The brewery quickly gained a reputation for their juicy New England IPAs, decadent Stouts, and experimental Fruited Sours. A second location opened along the waterfront in Plymouth in May 2024. I recently visited Vitamin Sea's Plymouth location while I was in town for the day. I was scheduled to meet up with some other beer bloggers at a different brewery later. I soon realized that Plymouth has an excellent craft beer scene and decided to head to Vitamin Sea first. The Plymouth facility is a beautiful location along the waterfront. I really liked the nautical/surf design theme too! I grabbed a seat at the bar and began to look over the menu. I heard that the Plymouth location is known for their excellent ciabatta sandwiches, so I ordered the "Parm to Table" (oven-roasted chicken cutlet, house-made marinara, melted mild & aged provolone, Parmesan, whipped lemon ricotta, basil on toasted ciabatta). It was the BEST chicken cutlet sandwich I've ever had in my life! What made it stand apart from other sandwiches? The whipped lemon ricotta! I washed it down with a pour of "Currency Check" (Double New England IPA), followed by "Mexican Blanket" (Imperial Stout). The beer, like the food, was fantastic! I must also point out that the staff were so friendly, knowledgable, and helpful throughout my visit. I highly recommend Vitamin Sea Brewing and look forward to visiting their Weymouth location!

However, the bakery itself was rather crowded with some picking up an order while others waiting patiently for their food. I went for the tuna sandwich but opt'ed for sourdough instead of rye. The tuna was pretty good, with a reasonably seasoned fish and not too much mayo. The sourdough was toasted and held up well. The butterscotch cookie was fairly chewy and soft, though perhaps a tad too sweet for my taste. Check-in on Yelp and you'll get a free "pastry", so I can't complain too much with a free cookie. With a sandwich, free cookie, and a drink, I paid nearly $10, which wasn't too bad with the cookie. The decor is clean and a bit cutesy, without it inducing a vomiting posture. Like many writers here, the wait time is longer than other equivalent places. Fortunately I didn't have any more pressing matters that day, so I could afford a check on fb...or two checks.
