I don't know where to begin with how impressed I am with Dr Burns…read more I transferred my dog to her care about two years ago because I was unhappy with the care that I received at a previous vet. Unfortunately, this year, my pet was found to have some lab abnormalities which necessitated a necessary and comprehensive work up. After a diagnosis was made by Dr. Burns I was recommended see to a veterinarian internist for management. Unfortunately, the specialist I chose wound up ordering expensive tests that we're neither specific nor sensitive to my dogs underlying condition and therefore a diagnosis was not made nor treatment indicated. Just when I thought I would have to start this process again by seeing another veterinarian internist, Dr. Burns called me. Knowing how frustrated I have become, and feeling badly for the stress and anxiety both to my self and my dog, she went out of her way to attend multiple lectures so that she would comfortable managing my dog's complicated illness, thus avoiding another trip to a different specialist. As a physician assistant myself, I was humbled with the kindness and effort she made for the benefit of my dog. Words cannot express how grateful I am to Dr. Burns and I would strongly recommend her to care for your pet!!

Dr. Burns is very thorough, and has outstanding diagnostic and surgical skills. She has over 20 years experience treating dogs and cats in South Florida. I received calls to check on me and my dog after surgery in case I had any questions or concerns. Since many animal hospital are owned by large corporations, it is refreshing to deal with a private hospital where the pet comes first - rather than the corporation. You can trust Dr. Burns for you pet's sick and wellness needs.

If you are considering using this animal hospital for even a goldfish, please do yourself a favor…read moreand DO NOT. dr. Netzly, the "veterinarian", is not only unprofessional, rude, petulant, and unsavory, he is a consummate liar. I made an appointment to simply have a rabies shot given to my beloved dog. When I saw that I was five minutes late for her appointment, I called the office and communicated the fact that I would be a bit late for the appointment. I arrived exactly twelve minutes late for the appointment. This "dr" stated in a response to my review that I was 40 minutes late. A lie! And later in the appointment he told me that I was too stupid to find his offices. FACT I assume that my Ph.D. is not ample educationally for his belittling, his rudeness and his unprofessionalism in his less than modern, uncomfortable and shabby offices. I brought Sophia into the tiny examination room with a muzzle that I requested as I know that she doesn't like to be prodded and needled. I held her and this "dr" entered the room, without a hello, without introducing himself to me and asked me if I was holding her. I stated to him that I was. He said to me, and I quote, "I heard that bullshit comment before." I stood up and calmly asked him not to speak to me in that manner. He looked at me in the same manner that Sophia looks at me quizzically! I should have left at that time as I realized his negative energy and attitude was from being twelve minutes late, but I didn't. So I said let's just do this and be done with it. I grabbed Sophia around the chest and secured her muzzled head while he injected her. Somehow she then managed to wriggle backward out of the muzzle and my grip and, unfortunately, bit the "dr" on his wrist. He became inconsolable and began yelling to the vet tech to call the humane society that my shepherd mix was a vicious dog. I pleaded with him to please reconsider, that I was so sorry that she had reacted that way but he was resolute (not realizing at that point that this would be considered an occupational hazard). Then I told him that I was a Vietnam Veteran and to please give her a break for my sake. His response, and I quote, was, "I don't give a shit who you are or what you did." Sophia never bit anyone, prior to this incident and the only report on her was her off of the leash. Another lie by this 'dr'. It is my humble opinion that he should seriously consider retirement before he inflicts his negative emotions, his nasty attitude, his ramshackle offices and his unprofessionalism on another unfortunate, unprepared animal and owner.

We had the absolute pleasure of having them take care of our two little pups the last 4+ years. We could not have asked for a better experience. Unfortunately, we lost both of our puppies within the last couple of months. We lost Bailey, who was 12 and full of love on November 29. We also just lost Bella, who was 8 and also full of love on February 22. We miss them dearly and we went through the experience of unfortunately putting her to rest one final time but it wasn't as bad because of the banfield team. We'd like to give a special thank you to Robyn, Jeremy, Dr. Johnson, Dr. Webb and Dr. Stiltner -- AND EVERYONE ELSE. You guys really and truly went above and beyond not only throughout the 4 1/2 years but also the last couple of days. Thank you guys so much again and for anyone who reads this, we really hope that if you are looking for a place that is professional and really makes you feel like family, Banfield is the place!

Not to be a broken record and say what everyone has said on this app about getting scammed into the wellness plan, but I got scammed into the wellness plan. That's not even why I'm writing this review. The unprofessionalism of the docs here is uncanny. Both women veterinarians have absolutely no consideration for your pets well being. To them, they are another 30min block on their schedule (which would be an absolute miracle if this location got you in and out in 30min). My partner and I brought our dog in for routine shots and fecal sample he needs to go to daycare. We explained that he is a rescue, have had him for a little less than a year, and he has a significant amount of trauma. He was being a little difficult, as most shelter dogs with trauma are at the vet. They then tried to force a cloth muzzle, a cone, and a basket muzzle on him FORCEFULLY, completely stressing the poor dog out and scaring the sh*t out of him. Once their efforts turned out unsuccessful, they then turned to me and told me I had to and I quote, "straddle him like a horse, grab the back of his neck and force it on as quickly as I could." This not only stressed out our good boy even more but it put the staffs', my partner's, and my safety at risk. All the while the vet is just sitting in her chair watching us and her tech struggle. After about 10 minutes of me wrestling with my dog, I was able to secure the muzzle. Our dog, clearly stressed tf out, didn't even get 30 seconds to get himself together before they told me to hold him down and they started coming at him with needles. When I say they only look at your pet like a 30min block on the schedule, this is what I mean. Absolutely zero consideration for my dogs wellbeing, and just trying to get this done as quickly as possible and to go hide in the back or scroll on their phone with a full waiting room. Seems as if they have forgotten why they got into this line of work in the first place; to help animals. I have experienced similar situations with both female vets at this location; both having the same outcome. While we have switched our cats to Chewy (and are so incredibly happy with the amount of care they give them) we are stuck with Banfield for the next year due to being roped into their sketchy, scammy wellness plan. When trying to cancel it, I was told we would have to pay the full price for the year which was well over $300. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID THIS BANFIELD LOCATION LIKE ITS THE PLAGUE!!!!!

We truly believed Bella would need to be put down because she had no control over her legs. However, the resident neurologist, Dr. Lam, immediately reassured us that this was not the case. I cannot express enough gratitude for the knowledge, patience, and kindness Dr. Lam showed us. She truly went above and beyond for Bella on New Year's Day. Dr. Lam spent an incredible amount of time carefully explaining what they believed was causing Bella's condition, walking us through all of our options, and answering every question with compassion and clarity. After discussing everything, we decided to move forward with an MRI, which confirmed Bella had FCEM. We were able to pick Bella up late on New Year's Day, and once again, the team took the time to explain the next steps and how to care for her at home to give her the best possible outcome. Despite Bella suffering from a serious neurological condition, they were very optimistic that she would make a 90% recovery. Even though it was late in the evening, we never felt rushed. Dr. Lam and Heather patiently answered every question and concern we had. We are truly grateful for the care, love, and support they gave to Bella, our 5-year-old boxer. I highly recommend Dr. Lam and Southeast Veterinary Neurology. They gave us hope when we needed it most.
