When I lived in NYC most of my adult life, I had two cats who were taken care of by The Animal Medical Center, a renowned facility. My cats lived for 18 years . OK! please READ this Review! give Dr Niedermiller a try!!!!! I had spent tons of money at a diff office 1.3miles south of this location....the other place talked me into so many test & unnecessary medications for my pets... I didnt know where else to go & I'm slow to change...my regret!!! other vets take your pet to the back as you wait in the exam room... knowing my Lauretta was a scaredy cat I could only imagine how bad it was going, then they came & asked permission to sedate her... She doesnt do well at all with sedation...Anyway... this company had to close due to moving, for 6ish weeks I had no office.. My petsitter suggested MVS I was desperate bc Lauretta was throwing up blood. MVS was a little longer to drive but I had to go. First Dr N didnt take her to the back & leave me in room... she petted Lauretta for several mins, then asked me if she could shave her to take blood. I WAS in shock! I tried not to show it... I said yes but warned Lauretta would freak out as she had in pass at other vets,(i was told i never witnessed it) I didnt know what Lauretta would do..I had imagined all our faces with severe scratch marks with blood spewing on walls. WELL no! Dr N was calm, her assistant was calm and so was Lauretta... it was a bloody miracle. Dr N took blood AND extracted urine with needle right in front of me... Lauretta wasnt the pysco cat the other vet lead me to believe.... MY POINT here is DRIVE the extra mile.. ALL the staff here are the sweetest people! they truly care! the other place had a lady on the phone that was so rude... Even knowing my dear Anthony was dying of a tumor... I am so regretful for not getting out of my comfort zone to try someone else... Sorry this is so long!!! MVS is tucked out of the way and small but the love here packs a punch! I found Dr. Niedermiller a few years ago out of sheer desperation and at my wits end. I had a regular vet that I loved for many years. However, if you're a pet owner you likely know that in past few years, many independent veterinary office have been bought out by a conglomerate. (The same thing has happened with funeral homes if you've had the misfortune to have to handle anything like that lately). Anyway, my much beloved vet sold his practice and decided to retire. I decided if I was going to start over with a new vet, I was going to find a still independent vet with extra personal service. My dog was having serious arthritis issues so I did what any responsible dog owner does and I hired a dog masseuse! Yes, they exist, and mine came to my house! In an effort to give my dog every advantage I asked what else I could do? The masseuse suggested acupuncture along with Adequan injections. The search began for a vet that practices animal acupuncture and that's how I found Dr. Niedermiller. When I go into the office, it's feels like an old fashioned vets office. Highly personal care, we are not just a number, and we see somebody who loves animals. She's the only vet, it's not a staff of 10 vets where you don't know who you'll see. We visited for our cats annual checkup during covid and they followed all the rules. We didn't go in, a tech came and got the cat carrier and after the exam Dr. N came out to our car to discuss the results. We did the payment over the phone from the parking lot. Very happy with that. Huge plus is that she does house calls too (I told you it was old fashioned) which was really beneficial in my dog's case. It was difficult to transport a large, arthritic dog! She also gave us lessons on how to inject the arthritis medication. It's not difficult but we'd never done that kind of stuff before. I probably pass 25 other veterinarians between my house and her office but it's worth it to me. My animals are family and I need them (and me) to feel comfortable. read more

I have a 23 year old cat. I called MVS only to have my old cats nails clipped. No exam only nails clipped. They charged me $177.00 for an exam which I did not want. And she did not clip a thumb nail, it is so long. It was a bad expensive deal. Will never go back! It's not fair that this Dr. took advantage of a senior citizen on disability. I will continue to to be honest with the amount she charged me for a service I did not want and left my cat of 23 yrs uncomfortable because she did NOT get all the nails...I will continue this. This is robbery pure and simple. What kind of vet over charges a senior disabled person and not cut all my cats nails. My cat is over 100 yrs old in our lives and she is still limping because Dr. Neidermiller did not due her job but charged me $177.00 dollars...So I will continue! read more

Worst service I've ever experienced. Their entire practice and approach to conducting business was very unprofessional and unorganized. They don't have a proper system of capturing client communications, they never returned phone calls or remembered which prescriptions or herbs the doctor suggested. Excuses like "well I wasn't in that day so you'll have to ask whoever was working" should not be a normal occurrence. The doctor was knowledgable but the office was intolerable. read more

What an amazing experience! My 9 year old dog had an accident and could not move his hind legs. We went to 2 different vets that said he needed surgery and it would cost between $6,000-$8,000. The diagnosis was a herniated disc. I took him to Dr.Niedermiller at MVS for a consult and she suggested trying accupuncture. Dr. Deb and her team are some of the kindest, most caring people I've met this side of the Atlantic Ocean! She took my 66 lb. moose on a last minute appointment, after the dog was showing signs of bladder infection. The employees asked multiple questions, showing a high level of competency. The whole staff took their time, not making us feel rushed or redundant. I was blown away by the excellent customer care, she and her entire colleagues took with my dog and kitten. The most personal experience you can find when it comes to a doctor! We have a 13yr old Maltese and 2 cats and would never trust our pets with anyone else! Dr. Neidermiller is always there for emergencies and is so thorough with my pets when she sees them. She is never in a rush, always calm and collected and she thinks of everything! Dr. Niedermiller Is the best at what she does. I took my 12 year old pit to her, my hopes were not very high on his condition. She did acupuncture a few times, my dog is up on his feet and marching around the house in his boots. I brought boogi to Deborah with a choice of surgery ((he's 12)) that was priced out between $3000.00 - $5000.00 and no guarantee he would pull through, or acupuncture I decided to try this procedure, I'm extremely happy I did. We all know what a tough year 2020 has been. On top of it all our beloved vet retired due to Covid 19. When a friend told me to go to Dr Niedermiller, her staff was extremely helpful in obtaining the records of my 2 cats and taking us in as new patients. Realizing our annual checkups were already overdue, I had to reschedule my appointment 3 times in an attempt to work around the construction project at my house. No matter how hard I tried, there was no way to schedule the perfect time. Without going into too much detail, just before departure time, my day turned upside down. There was a communication breakdown regarding a construction crew arrival that almost let my cat outside and I received some sad family news. Getting in the car became a real challenge. We have a laid back cat and a high strung one. The latter of the two did not want to go in her carrier and proceeded to show me who's boss. When I pulled up for the curbside service, I called to inform the office that we had arrived and that one cat was distraught. Much to my embarrassment, my composure unraveled and I started to cry. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the care and compassion that this office exhibited toward my kitties and especially me that day. Everyone that came out to the car showed nothing but professionalism and genuine concern. I am well aware by the multiple times I had to reschedule that this office is very busy so I know how easily they could have not had the time or patience to be so caring. I am very pleased that this is our new veterinarian home. I almost forgot to mention that in spite of all the excitement, on top of her high strung nature, Lilly was calm with Dr Niedermiller. terrible experience. brought my cat in for a simple check up and shot. showed up with a folder with his paperwork, as he's had life threatening issues in the past. waited with the vets assistant(who was nice) for 20 minutes, she comes in, gives the shot and then i asked her if she read his folder. she said she "didn't know she had it" and then found it in her binder. she did his "checkup" and told me he was good to go and was going to leave, i asked her why she didn't check his heart, which was one of the main issues since he has a heart murmur(as it says in multiple pieces of paperwork). She said she "must have forgot" and checked it. told me he "didn't have his heart murmur anymore" even though he's had it nearly all his life(he is 10), and when i went to the emergency vet just a week prior, they noted it down. overall her demeanor was unpleasant as she made several rude comments about my cats weight being low(when i told her i leave food out for him 24/7 and he just doesn't have a huge appetite), and how his nose isn't wet because "he's from a shelter and that's how most shelter cats are". i've never had a worse experience at a vet and i will not be returning read more

Our 9 year old Bichon had been suffering with what was diagnosed as "colitis" for many years, on and off every month or so. Nothing prescribed by his lifetime vet seemed to really help. I finally brought him to MVS at the suggestion of another patient and Dr. Niedermiller prescribed an antibiotic to be taken for a month. He has been free of diarrhea since April thanks to Dr. Niedermiller. She is very caring and thorough with her exams and her treatment. The staff is very friendly and courteous.
