You can go wrong with a diner. Terrible food. The ketchup bottle is a Heinz bottle but if it really was Heinz, it was bad. If it wasn't Heinz, Heinz should make them stop reusing their bottles. The chicken parmigiana sandwich came on either a "kaiser" roll or hamburger bun. Should've taken the bun. The "kaiser" roll fell apart, the sauce was disgusting. Stay away.

Hubs and I went on an early, humid stroll in the park, to then take on breakfast. He was delighted by the surprise of a diner and me initiating the suggestion (as by my reviews, breakfast is not really My thing.). Except this diner is not Diner Breakfast! Way more!! We arrived today around 8:30am and were seated in the quiet back room. Our server attended to us quickly, was kind and cheerful throughout, and filled my husband's coffee to the brim multiple times. We ordered our breakfast and it took about 15-20 minutes to arrive. The food was so fresh!! Table orders included the Creamed Chipped Beef atop a Belgian Waffle with a side of Scrapple. And the Lyndon Benedict with Hash Browns. The chipped beef was creamy, not overly salted, actually pretty light. The waffle was fantastic. Slightly sweet, fluffy and thick! The scrapple, fried well. The Lyndon Benedict was so spot on! The hollandaise was well put, not broken not lemony, a nice accomplishment to the perfectly poached egg, with a gorgeous, bright orange, drippy center. Oozed to the sautéed spinach, well done bacon and puffy English Muffin (a real one- not Thomas's). Crisp potato bed of hash browns. This is not a greasy spoon, this diner is dynamite!! We loved our start to Sunday!!

The first thing that hit me when I entered this small, quaint little establishment was I felt like I was transported back to Mayberry of the 50's and 60's. Breakfast is served all day, and my western omelette with home fries, English muffins and crusty scrapple were delicious with my coffee and tomato juice. I guess the atmosphere lends to the friendliness of the patrons, who seem like neighbors you've known forever, especially the young toddler in a high chair I was playing peek a boo with around the partition that separated our booths. The little gem is a very inexpensive treat.

Check your order before if you get take out. . .they forgot the cheese I requested for my eggs. Would visit again and try a special.

Another table arrived midway through our meal. Service was good, but could change if they were stressed. We had ordered the pork croquettes, but later found they were not available, so opted for the corn fritters which had also sparked some interest. The jalapeños were present but not hot. Not bad, but didn't love them, they were a little overdone and just needed something. The seasoned honey butter didn't help much. The Not Shepherds pie needed some gravy. Solid pieces of roast beef were delicious, there were mashed potatoes (partner said they tasted instant) and they needed gravy. Mashed potatoes are fine, but gravy makes them divine. The Clementine salad was a series of contradictions. Highlight was the oranges, tasted fresh, not canned, were tender tasty with no seeds. Downhill started with the candied almonds. Sliced, toasted with a caramelized sweetness and an off taste. It haunted me and I finally realized the taste was rosemary and it did not marry well. Our server later confirmed it through the chef. The arugula which normally stands up through any dressing was wilted and limp. The goat cheese and pickled onions were nice, but I was suspecting all ingredients for that off taste. I tried the duck taco cause I love chimichuri. It was ok, the duck was tasty, but didn't have the brightness that I expected from the chimichuri. I still have high hopes and will return.

( a theme with our food...). Service was great! All said, I would go back again and try some more of the offerings.

Inside, the food was fresh, plentiful, and delicious. We chose side salads instead of fries and they were a great size to start the meal. I had the open‑face Turkey Reuben and the portion was definitely shareable and very good. My husband had the fish and chips and the cod was fried perfectly, 4 nice fillets, crisp outside and tender inside. He swapped the fries for a baked potato and it tasted like it came straight from the oven, hot and fluffy. They offered a long list of specials for 16.99 that included beverage, soup, salad, an entrée and dessert. The cakes and pies looked fabulous and many were ordering dessert. We were too full this time, but next visit we'll save room. Our waitress, Lala, was wonderfu, attentive, friendly and always checking in at the right moments. The manager greeted us warmly when we arrived and again when we left, which added to the friendly atmosphere. Plenty of parking and easy to get in and out.
