Every time I come into this dump there's a Mexican lady named something like lordis I have no idea how to spell it but she is one of the rudest customer service workers I've ever came across every time I come in this store she's extremely rude. I don't like her at all. Today a situation happened where my friends phone was stolen and as I was calling it one of the workers happened to pull something out of their pocket and look at it then looked directly towards me as he put whatever it was back in his pocket, so it looked really suspicious so I go find the manager and I explain to him what happened and I told him I don't want to accuse anyone but the situation was weird so I asked him if he could have his employee empty his pockets and then crabby mean lordis wanted to kick me out of the store which I thought was bogus because I didn't want to accuse anyone but the kids actions were suspicious. I just wanted to make sure, so I kept shopping and a while later the manager comes up to me apparently they were still whining and complaining about me asking to see what was in the kids pockets and they asked me to leave. I don't have a ride I was waiting for them and it's really cold outside so because they were being babies and that lady lordis really sucks I have to sit in the cold and wait for my ride. She's always a not so nice person I know I would never work for a crab like that. She's really needs to find a different job. I highly doubt any of the employees like her. Even her face is rude looking. Savers sucks and they are a rip off. They can close for all I care. So at the salvation army. They are way better. read more

I've shopped the thrift stores for 40 years! I'd buy work cloths, working for the railroad. It was easier to change them than to wash them. -very-dirty- I've experienced the change in the merger of Unique and Savers. The Northtown store was never in line and has never got in line with the rest. The people use to be some-what friendly, but not always as attentive in service. It's gotten worst, since the change from checking-out to checking-out-your-self. hence my worst experience there to date and it happens no-where-else! Being accused of a previous not scanning, even when the clerk's were standing there to remind me.............it's not personnel, it's personal.....people of color call that racist and that's racism at it best............They, no, some-one doesn't want us to shop there and they made their point..........cristal! Savers does not have any fitting rooms. If you purchase something you can not try it on to see if it fits. If you get home and it does not fit you will NOT get a refund. Even if you have your receipt, Even if it has been less than 14 days, Even if the tags are still on the item. They do not give refunds on anything regardless of condition, length of time, or possession of receipt. When I purchased 2 pairs of slacks from Savers I asked about the return policy and I was told I could return it within 14 days with receipt if it was in the same condition as when I purchased it. I found out 5 days later this statement was total BS. read more

Eh. I love here yet still get annoyed for Items that are way overpriced. For instance, a storage bin for 8 dollars makes no sense when it's cheaper at Walmart for the same thing. i mostly get annoyed at the ugly Christmas sweaters prices. ‍ They are definitely taking advantage of that need. way way way over priced But I still love coming here for finding all the cool junk I never new I needed. Filthy store. Yuck. I should have known better, but other Yelpers had found it clean & well organized. I didn't. I found clothing items & shoes that reeked of cigarette smoke (who doesn't clean the stuff they donate?). The floors were dirty, items strewn about, none of the toys even remotely looked clean or in working condition. I did find a pair of "new" boots (didn't quality for discount since it was new), but I was really worried about contamination from the other not-washed items in the store. AFTER paying for them, I asked for a bag since, you know, bedbugs or roach eggs, only to fine out you have to pay $ .10 for a bag. Luckily, I had a bag in the trunk of my vehicle-so I will decontaminate them when I can. Buyer beware! read more

Savers is my favorite thrift store and this one is always pretty good. In my years of antique hunting and deal scavenging, I'd say that Savers (in general) is my favorite. Salvation Army is second...depending on the location. Goodwill has sucked ever since their big re-design many years ago, and now almost half of the stuff is brand-new cheap junk from China. I won't even walk into one anymore. Anyway...my daughter wanted to stop so she could look for tops & purses. Now that she's working, she's frequently buying with her own money. And she got some rockin' deals at Savers! (Checkout the photos.) I was pretty impressed. I also found some kitchen accessories and a couple of super cheap books for myself. I was actually thinking of paying full retail for a couple of these books. We got all of them for only a couple of bucks. The only drawback with Savers are the customers - sometimes. I didn't know you had to bring your own bag... I've never BEEN HERE. I will never be back. I can't believe this store would hire someone with absolutely no customer service standards. I've always been a thrifter, and fell in love with Savers years ago. This location is only so-so. The place is usually disorganized, with random stuff allover... But, I think a lot of that is from other customers. Most of the staff is always friend, except for the extremely rude old man that works the Furniture department, which I now try to avoid. Overall, I would say their pricing is okay: some of the deals are phenomenal, while others are basically the same as the clearance price at a full-line retailer. As an older person, I appreciate the "Senior Day Discount" on Tuesdays. The neighborhood isn't really the best: homeless people camp out in front of the store all night, and people dump off piles of garbage behind the store at night as well, which some of the homeless rummage through and scatter all over the back area. I don't recommend going there early, unless you wanna see their workers cleaning that stuff up and chasing away the homeless. In conclusion, if there was a better atmosphere, and they put more effort into presentation, I would rate it higher, but I suppose you can only expect so much from a thrift store. read more

I LOVE coming to this Savers Thrift Store on Coon Rapids blvd, IN Coon Rapids. I don't live in the area, so I would advise using your GPS to get there, because there is a back road to get there, and I tend to miss it. It's next to Michael's, and the now defunct Hancock Fabrics. HUGE parking lot with tons of available parking. EMPLOYEES are always kind to me. I feel they are hard workers-they have to handle the items that people no longer want and figure out how to price them, them put them out on the floor, and do it quickly. I always see them working; and not standing around talking (which I appreciate!). PRICES: I think prices are relatively good. I'm cheap, so it's true, I don't want to spend $7.99 on a blouse type shirt--BUT that same one is WAY less than the store, and probably not available at the original store. So if I really want it, I'll buy it. Plus, they may have prices high originally, because on the SPECIAL days of discount, you get it for cheaper! TIPS: I LOVE the bags on the walls that have 3-5 things in them, for a set price. I LOVE love love the toiletries, where I can get lotions, toothpaste, shampoos, make ups.. in similar bags, for only $3.99 or so. THat's my Fav. Kids & Sewing & Office & Home Decor & Electronics ALL have bags like this--a bunch of things for a low price! TIP: Get on their email lists, donate to them & you will get a punch card for your donations--you can then use the punch card, for up to 30% off. MY BEST TIP: SHOP on THURSDAYS! You get 25% off all items (might be a few exceptions) with your Savers Club Card (free). They also have SENIORS day, where they get a HUGE 40% off discount. And a few other special days. GOOD EXPERIENCE: I had an especially great experience yesterday, 6/12/16. I saw this huge cat tree that I wanted to buy for $39.99. I asked at the front how to pick it up/pay for it. She had Tim from furniture meet me in furniture. He was excited someone was buying it and so was I! I paid at the front, and then drove around back, and he loaded it in my car (believe me, I wasn't prepared to buy such a large item), but we fanangled it in there. I drove home a happy lady! Have never been to a Savers before. This location was very clean and organized! Quality of items were good, there just wasn't a lot of quantity. I went with a list of things I needed for re doing my decor. Only found one item out of ten on my list. Probably wouldn't make the 25 min drive out there again. read more

Over the last year or so prices have rose to an absurd and frankly insulting level. Anything with a Vikings/Wild/Packers logo on it gets a price hike whether it's warranted or not, I've seen pit-stained Wild T-shirts that weren't even in style when they came out in 2004 or whatever for $10. Ratty crewneck sweatshirt with a tiny embroidered Packer logo on the chest? $15. Sometimes they'll even still have the price tag from the garage sale they bought this stuff from. Unlike Goodwill, Savers is a business, not a charity, and boy this place sure lets you know that. I just don't understand how they can justify these prices. Are people in Coon Rapids really that delusional and out of touch to be paying these prices? For instance, this place still sells the Columbia fleece jackets (that all the soccer moms traded in five years ago for North Face and now Patagonia) for $15 a pop, with dozens on the racks. If so that's a shame, even if suburbanites have a skewed sense of value (which is true in my garage sale experience around the metro), they don't deserve to be gouged on out-of-style crap. This is the highest-priced Savers in the metro, even more than Edina or Woodbury. Despite my rant about the ridiculous prices, which can be frustratingly inconsistent, they are inconsistent enough to still be able to find deals on things that the manager forgot to put a unilateral $15 price tag on. Also the store is clean and well-organized, though the DVD section is a little small for a store this size. read more

Not nearly enough clerks on duty-went there today-during the hell week between Xmas and new years, and was in line behind 2 people w/LOTS of stuff. Mgr helped for a bit, then closed the line, basically the poor lone clerk to the wolves. If youre unable/unwilling to hire enough help get your duff and help out! read more

Has become my favorite place to shop. You never know what you'll find; some days I've come away empty handed, some days I'm thrilled to find several treasures! High quality clothing in like-new condition can be found amongst the more mundane cloth. I've gotten some great books and CD's here also.
