Most items are vegetarian or vegan, but there are some meat products too (or which have ingredients not suitable for vegans/vegetarians). I picked up some hard to find and unusual items, like shitake mushroom chips. I am not sure I would make the drive from Edmonton just to shop here, but if I am in the area again for sure I would stop by.

Today when I popped in after my shift there were no baskets to be used, but a lovely lady was there to clean a cart for you to use. I used my own grocery bag (which felt funny at first, like I was looting). I was able to find everything I need to make a lasagna and breakfast sandwiches. The other reasons they get 5/5 stars is due to the workers. Every single person I saw today in that store had a smile, was helping someone if that's what was needed and were friendly. In a time of so many unknowns it was wonderful to see such amazing Humans working to make sure we can provide for our families. Even the customers were kind. The lady ahead of me (2m away, nicely marked on the floor) asked me (I was behind her) if she could go get milk that she forgot. I of course said yes. I'm in no hurry. Then I moved to another line with fewer people as I didn't have much. And this wonderful senior gentlemen wanted me to go ahead of him, even though he had been waiting much longer than I. The lady at the lotto counter who rang in my groceries was funny and kind. Way to go St. Albert Sobeys. Truly wonderful place to shop and be greeted with friendly faces. In my books you get 6 stars.

The female manager decides its a great time to talk to the busy male cashier about shift policy with another employee, slowing down the line even more. You can find some cool international foods and snacks here. For example they have Baklava in the bakery section. They also sell some soft drinks that I've only seen in Korean grocery stores and restaurants. In the frozen food section they have Longanisa sausage from the Philippines. Some foods are less expensive than other grocery while many items are average in price. I was surprised when I saw package of bacon priced super low at $2.00. That was a steal in my opinion. There are some awesome deals here if you take the time to look.

There's a lot of parking and the carts did not require coins (quarters) to use. COViD protocols are followed here and there was a person there to wipe down my cart before using. I wasn't sure what to expect cuz google reviews referred to it as a desi store, and their store opening neighbourhood mail out noted it was a south Asian grocer. I was pleasantly surprised that there's a ton of variety here catering to all sorts of Asian groceries as well as western groceries. The building is brightly lit and the produce is plentiful, fresh, lots of different kinds (including Asian veggies) and affordable (I saw no bruising or wilting on the fruits and veggies either). I'd say a large majority of the store caters to East Indians which suits the demographic here, but there was also lots of foods that specifically target Filipino, Korean, Chinese, etc. that would usually be found by going to multiple specialty shops...I'm glad it's like a one stop shop! There were a lot of discounted goods too and some even have stickers with additional savings at checkout; $5 fully decorated fudge cake?... Um yes please!! Honestly, I walked in for fruit and came out an hour later like a bandit! There's even some interesting flavours like fruit HP sauce, or masala smoked chicken deli meat. I am also impressed they sell a good variety of meat skewers and halal meat. They also sell reusable grocery bags if you forget your own, or you can ask for a box which is free. You can also opt to donate $10 for a mystery grocery food bag to be donated to the less fortunate fortunate. I'm pretty pumped that this place is so close to home, it might even become my new regular grocery store since there's so many new things I want to come back to try and add to the weekly family meal plan.

I've really loved how the Joe Fresh line has continued to evolve here and the clothing has become a staple in our household. We will continue to be regulars for the amazing PC Green Brand Cat Litter as well as produce and Harvest Grains Protein Bread. I live quite far away so it was nice to combine multiple tasks into this one trip. Upon arrival, the parking lot is a bit awkward as it's farther away from the door than other grocery stores but not a big deal for us. Carts were located on the inside of the store. We opted to eat some lunch first and ordered the pho soup and banh xeo. The price is the soup was good and it was yummy. The banh xeo was ok, my friend said it was not as authentic (she's Vietnamese) but I still found it to be ok, a little hard. On top of the hot food they also have a quickly inside the store (bubble tea shop) where we got fresh sugar cane juice!! Absolutely delicious!! The grocery store itself is stocked with so many things that you can only find here and the prices are excellent compared to many other Asian grocery stores. I would definitely shop here if I lived closer to this place or if there are certain ingredients I need I will definitely come back here once in a while.
