The Modesto, California location is also clean, spacious, well-stocked, affordable, and helpful. The location that is is the most uncomfortable due to not only how tiny it is, but how unclean and cramped it is the Turlock, CA local. This Ceres, California location is super clean! Super organized! Super well-stocked and spacious! Plus to alert the shoppers to "open and available" checkout lines, they have awesome old-school lighted check-stand markers that are a few feet above the check stand so they really get your attention. No self-checkout. Maybe in the future, they will offer this. They DO offer: Bill Pay, Money Orders, Check Cashing, Fax/Copies, and per their sign "more...". Turn the music down, please. This is not a disco. It's difficult to think and make sure you're not forgetting anything even with a list when the music blares at loud volumes and non-stop. It's darn near impossible to shop anywhere anymore without being subjected to loud noise emanating from their speaker system. Lastly, since it appears they are no longer mailing their weekly newspaper ad, you can go online and view their weekly ad there. All and all, a nice, clean, well-stocked, yet noisy and affordable grocery experience.

Your security guard then followed them to their car and began taking photos of them and their vehicle without ever approaching them inside the store or asking to see a receipt like a normal person would. Let's be clear: she paid for it. There is a receipt. What I have a much bigger problem with is a grown adult man following my barely-18-year-old sister out of the store and into the parking lot to photograph her without identifying himself or stating any concern to her face. That is not loss prevention. That is just a grown man following a young girl to her car. If there was a genuine concern, the time to address it was at the door. Not creeping up on two teenagers once they were already outside. And to top it all off? The cake was frozen solid and basically inedible & no, not because it was a supposed to be a frozen product, but because it appeared to be old and improperly stored. So we got harassed over a cake that wasn't even fit to eat. This was supposed to be a simple birthday errand. Do better.

The customer service we received from Annabelle, the cashier was superlative! She was friendly and went above and beyond to treat us well. This store has much more square footage than the other two stores in Modesto. The prices on some items are insanely low! They even list the going price at other stores, along with the price one will pay at the register. It is usually several dollars cheaper per item at the Grocery Outlet. I saw a GIANT Sriracha sauce collectible tin in the store, I thought I was super cute! (Photo posted). It has a special set of chopsticks and a packet of ramen inside. 5 out of 5 stars! Great service, great prices, clean, and well organized!

I have been charged for a bag even though I don't always get one. I know it's a small charge but when it's every time, it doesn't make me want to got there. Not that any of the employees care, they're too busy on their personal phones.

However, the cashier was so rude. No hello or anything. She did manage to argue with the customer next in line. I've never seen someone so rude that works retail. She never gave me a total or asked if I needed a bag. Her whole focus was being rude to the man. He could have been a repeat offender but acknowledge me you jerk. I'm the person in front of you.
