Also picked up some cheap batteries and Fourth of July decorations! Sweet! The checkout guy was really weird. He couldn't take a joke. Instead of apologizing, he said he hasn't had much sleep because he had worked three doubles. I guess the holiday week has been busy? The store was being restocked but at the same time looked like a tornado had come through. Stuff everywhere. One of my Fourth of July lanterns was broken before we even opened it. Didn't know until we had it home and unpacked. Oh well. It was only a dollar.

The staff don't really seem to want to be here, which seems to be the case at both locations. It's a dollar store, so you can't expect anything fancy. I get plastic ware, ziploc bags and garbage bags here mostly. If you're traveling, they also have soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc. It's nice to buy the dollar toothbrushes so you can throw them away on the way home. One strange thing I noticed is that the carts are really low here. I am not tall, and the cart was so low it was awkward for me to push with my purse on my arm.

Previously I had shopped here thinking if I didn't need it right way or even at all , it was "only a $1" But even though it is not "expensive" relative to Walmart or Hobby Lobby etc. I now am more selective it I want to purchase something for an unknown future need , because now they are in a more competitive price point. i.e. I have other options to spend my $1.75+ elsewhere ! I will probably come here for stuff like q-tips but the higher priced things like glass vases, goodwill and Walmart are viable options. Once I choose the other vendors I will probably buy other items there that I can not get at Dollar stores like grocery items. So for Dollar Store it is a missed customer opportunity.

They're way cheaper than at the grocery store or anywhere else, and some of them are even the normal name brand, like Hefty. They get holiday stuff that looks cheap, and they have some strange off brand foods, but you can get good deals here.

They have a constantly rotating stock, but there are some standby's that ensure you'll almost always be able to find your favorite items here. One of my favorite parts of stopping in at this location is its staff, they're incredible people with bright personalities, and I always get a friendly greeting coming in the door. They make you feel welcome and like you're part of the community, and if you stop in there even somewhat frequently they're quick to recognize you and welcome you by name. For a discount store, this location is incredibly well lit and is kept impeccably clean. I've been in some discount stores that seem to think 'discount' means 'dingy', this is certainly not the case with Dollar General. If you want to save money while still getting great value you should stop in and check it out, it's my go-to store for decorations and grabbing incidentals I forgot off the shopping list.

Gonna go back a ways. Discovered they had some clearance computers at this location so I went there…read more(a long drive) several months ago to purchase several of them. Loaded my 5 computers in my cart and proceeded to look around for clearance stuff as I normally would at any such store. Security started following me and walkieing to the office. I worked at Wal-mart in college and it's ridiculous because I did nothing suspicious at all. 4 people showed up while I checked them out to "help" take the security tags off. I'd probably have bought some clearance oil filters if the security crew wasn't all over me over a legitimate purchase. Hint Wal-Mart when you're clearing out all in one computers at $149 marked down from $400 don't you consider someone who might be able to make use of said computers (like my son soon going to college) isn't a thief? The rating wouldn't be so low but I bought 9 computers from various other locations and wasn't followed around anywhere else.
