But after 9 days of my mother-in-law being at the Commons we took her out!!! The staff are very inexperienced with the special needs that my mother-in-law requires, she has dementia and gastroparesis, which requires a very special diet. On the first day she was there they gave her foods she could not eat. The staff played on their phones every time I visited her in the short time of 9 days. They never welcomed her to make her feel at home and when we went to visit she would be crying and she would say take me home. Well with that being said we got her home to find bruises on her backside and bruised up and down her arms. Please, please before you put your loved one in a facility think twice. Left a bad taste in my mouth as we expected a bit more compassion for my mother-in-law. She is in her own home now with a live in nurse and security cameras and happy. So if you ask me how was her stay at Savannah Commons?? Awful!!!

LeRia Hudkins & Savannah Commons Team provided kind, considered and professional help during my mother's stay. When things took a turn for the worse, we will never forget their helping us make it through such an unbearably sad experience. We are forever grateful. Keith P.

She listened to the concerns and the needs of my Special Needs brother, then assured me that someone would call me back. I received a call back within 15 minutes from Jordan Dagley. Jordan spoke in length with me over the phone, and offered to come to the hospital where my brother was still a patient, and met with my mom and I for almost 2 hours! We were definitely NOT an inconvenience to him. He made sure we understood everything before we signed any paperwork, and answered more questions than he bargained for, I'm sure. We feel very confident that my little brother will be well taken care of by everyone at Bright Star. If you're reading this...I beg you to disregard the previous review as it was 2 years ago, and definitely not related to Home Health Care. Top notch company and very professional!

Jordan was very informative down to the details for grandads care and he really presented genuine options that were reasonable. A retirement community wasn't an option for us and BrightStar was the next best thing! If you have someone in your life needing a little bit of extra attention to assure quality of life please give this place a chance. Just ask for Jordan!

I'm glad she did because she got high quality care and I had peace of mind with me being out of state. Rita and the staff met her needs and took care of her like she was family. I was always informed and received regular updates on her well being. The great thing about the care is it is adjusted to your needs from being self sufficient all the way to end of life. Thanks Rita for loving her well and making moms last 6 years over her life a pleasure.

Please please if you care AT ALL about your loved one, avoid this "assisted living" at all costs…read more If you'll notice, the oldest post from this page is September, 2022, less than a year ago. (I'm referring to their facebook pages) However, Buckingham South has been around since 1999. The former page was so trashed with horrible reviews, that a new one was needed. My dad was in that place for almost 5 years. His last year, (and the one and 1/2 before it) his monthly "rent" was upwards of $8,000.....even when he was in the hospital for 3 weeks out of four in the month. I have seen things I could never even imagine at a facility that I THOUGHT I could relax a little and visit my dad whenever I wanted. I have pictures of everything I'm saying to back up these egregious conditions. EVERYTHING First before anything else, there is only ONE CARETAKER per FLOOR! One horribly worked and underpaid caregiver for 25 residents per floor. Should one of the four call in sick or be needed to take care of her own family, then her floor is divided between the other overworked and underpaid staff. I personally know 3 caretakers who have quit--not because they didn't enjoy the residents and their families--but because there were so many infractions that were ignored when reported. I personally saw a blind woman in her wheelchair who had been at BS for under 3 weeks-left unattended outside-roll off the pavement into the 6 inch space between the curb and a parked car. It was one of the worst things I've ever seen. I was the only one with her until a caretaker with a conscience helped her and relieved me. It was awful. There is no security there. I facetimed my dad only to find him on the MEDIAN on Abercorn. I immediately called Rita who argued with me that my dad had just had a "beautiful dinner" and was in the dining room. First, the food is horrible. But most important was the fact she had no idea where my dad was, and she wasted valuable time arguing with me that my dad was inside. My dad was confused and scared. I have never seen my father like that. I'm still traumatized. I immediately got in my car and drove the 12 hours to Savannah. When I confronted Rita about this gross negligence, she told me that she couldn't be everywhere. I told her I didn't expect her to. She refused to hire any security and just accepted the risks, I suppose. These are not even the worst things I saw. I have pictures, audio and video tapes, past bills, and former staff who are looking for a way to get this information out. I'm happy to share all with anyone who calls or DMs me. My heart breaks for the people with no one checking on them. Those are the residents who are preyed upon. Only last Sunday, Rita deprived a bedridden patient with no family, of his only visitor, a former employee, who ever came to see him. Because of all the health violations the staff were supposed to ignore, she felt she could no longer stay there and left, rather than risk her license. Rita tried to get her back on staff, but she refused. When she went to visit her former resident and friend, Rita got wind of the situation, she immediately burst into this bedridden man's room and forced the only bright spot in his day out of the facility........all the while the resident kept repeating, "She's my friend!" And Rita even threatened the resident--who has been there since 1999--that if he liked this former caregiver so much, he could go to her new job. Remember, he's been one of the first people at this "assisted living" home. This poor man has been there over 20 years. It's all he knows at this point. Ask Rita who's driving Dr. Hubby's car.
