Local brewery near downtown with super relaxed atmosphere, great service, and home brewed beer! Must admit, pulling in was a little nerve racking. Old industrial building and no obvious signs. We knew we were at the right place because cars were parked everywhere. Walking towards building we finally saw a sign. Walked in and the place was alive! Recommend to all! Place is pet friendly and no one cares that your dog is under 21. **Two gripes** 1. hours of operations are horrible. Local breweries should be open at least til midnight (trust me, business will maintain:). 2. APPETIZERS!! Everytime we have hone in there they have someone selling nachos or something simple but we the people need appetizers to go with the delicious beer selection, period. Get more appetizers or figure out a way to include it on the already running tap. read more

This place is exactly where you'd think a brewery would be. We went here on a Saturday afternoon and there was a pretty good crowd. You pay $15 "for the tour" which includes a choice of 3 different glass sizes with different number of pours you get. We got the smallest size which allowed 6 pours so we could taste every beer they had on tap that day. Coming from California, I've tried beer from a lot of new breweries. It's nice to come across one who has the money behind it and the knowledge to produce good beers. I was surprised to find that I enjoyed everything I tasted. I'm not usually a fan, but I think my favorite was the planet. Such good flavor I could drink a whole pint. We will definitely be returning! read more

Finding local brews is my mission. This is one of the two spots in the same area in downtown. We came here to check it out. I loved the samplers. The bartender helped me take my traditional pallets a bit further with fantastic brown ale and Belgian style white IPA. They are dog friendly. It's brownie points and we will be getting our baby here next time. They also have few board games. Thought they don't sell food, you can get your own. Next time I'm eating my dinner before venturing here. Great place, great beers, great service. read more

I love this spot. You always see a great, eclectic group of people hanging out here and both the customers (and their dogs) and bartenders are outgoing. They do have occasional events here, too, which is always nice. The spot is spacious and there is plenty of parking, although it has been tight sometimes. They have a small outdoor area and large doors they keep open when the weather is nice. They have a few games, too, like cornhole, and there are tons of tables and seating, but also a very spacious bar. As for their beers, they're excellent. Some I like more than others, but, overall, they're spot on and consistent. I normally go with one of their IPAs if I don't do a flight. If it's your first time here, definitely try a flight. read more

Augusta's best brewery! Lucky enough to get tix to the Masters 2 years in a row and was excited to get back to Savannah River. Great, laid back vibe! Lots of space (inside & out), great for large groups. A couple corn hole setups inside, as well as various other backyard type games. Fantastic service. Great beers. Super dog friendly. This has been a review in the making since February. Savannah River Brewing is such a gem! I love the large open space and the fun atmosphere. We came with a large group to celebrate my husband's birthday. We were able to bring our own food and actually able to celebrate his birthday with his friends. So fun! The employees were very nice and helped figure out what I like. I had the English Cherry Stout (I liked that better than the American) and the Savannah River IPA. There were so many dogs! And I love dogs!!! Definitely a good place to go whether you're visiting Augusta or just hanging out. Went here to visit with some friends while in the area. We enjoyed all the beers we tried. Wired Dynamite was my favorite and is exceptionally smooth and has great coffee notes. What can I say? Best craft beer in Georgia. We've had our share up north and down here but this stuff is ALL good. The no jacket required is smooth and tasty. The IPAs are solid also one is an India pale ale quality. Prices are also very reasonable. Who needs bud when you have affordable craft beer made locally in Augusta? This is a brewery worth visiting. The more polished of the breweries, this large tasting area/bar (thanks to changes in laws you don't have to pretend to take a tour anymore) would definitely be a great place to hang with people on a nice afternoon. Can we please just talk about the perfection of the coffee stout? The coffee stout at Savannah Brewery includes beans from Buona Caffe, which is a coffee shop and roastery in Augusta. Hands down, the best coffee stout I've ever tried. Immediately, you smell the amazing fragrance of coffee. The stout kind of tastes like nitro coffee, but with beer. Great place to take your dog to hang out and have a beer. They do have some snacks, like shareable meat and cheese trays. They also have a food truck that comes by a couple times a week. This place is good for just the atmosphere and beer. They do have a big screen to watch a game on. They also have indoor games like bags and putt golf. Now the beer! The Pilsner, swamp thing, Whitty Belgian and the dynamite coffee stout were our favorites. We got 2 flights and tasted most of the beers. We skipped the double ipa due to the group not being fans. The owner or manager was giving tours of the brewery when we arrived. The people who went on the tour seemed very interested in the brewery tour. Maybe something to try next visit. The customer service was good although slow because they were busy with only one bar tender at the time of our arrival. If you have a pooch and want a cool place to hang this is it! read more

Compared to their neighbors down the road, Savannah River Brewing is huge. They have the basic lineup of five beers with a few specialty kegs being tapped now and then for events and holidays. What I like most about this place is the games - I turn into a five-year old when I drink, and I'm basically just looking for a playground. They have giant jenga, cornhole, a mini-putting green (with foam balls), and some board games. Like their neighbors, this brewery seems to be mostly staffed by family which is good to see. I've taken the tour twice and am pleased to report they were not just carbon copies of each other - our guide took us to new spots in the brewery each time and went with the flow of the questions. Very knowledgeable, if soft-spoken. Judging by the amount of tap handles on the wall and the empty space, both in the tasting room and the actual brewery, Savannah River clearly has intentions to grow. A "tour" will Cost you $14 that comes with a glass. 3 sizes to choose from with the samples free as required by our archaic brew laws. The people are friendly and the inside is clean except for the bathrooms. The bathrooms were disgusting and we were the first patrons for the day. you get to keep the glass and it's a $1 off if you bring it back. As opposed to their competitor in town every beer they make is at least drinkable. Well worth a visit. read more

The beer is good their selection is pretty decent. There is no food at this spot so it's all bring your own. They do however provide a small cheese sausage platter that is still in the box from Boars Head. This is a dog friendly spot, however...the floors look like they never get cleaned. There is so much dog hair inside you'd think they shaved a Polar beer inside. They also do Beer Yoga on Saturday mornings on those same floors. read more

The beer "No jacket required" pilsner is approaching that Czech style Pilsner. It isn't as good as the Czech Pislner brewed in Czech Republic, but it is refreshing and decent. Coming from Colorado, a brewery haven, we didn't expect to find a top notch brewery in Augusta. We were wrong! SRB has a great selection for beers and the quality is definitely top notch! I'm so happy Augusta finally has a brewery such as the Savannah River Brewing Co. The beers are actually delicious. I suggest you start with a flight if you're not familiar with their beers. My favorite was the English Bitters. If you like Tropicali, their seasonal IPA with mango tastes very similar. They just don't offer it enough! And the Coffee Ale is so delicious it might make you want to drink it for breakfast each morning. Atmosphere is okay... warehouse with lots of room. Games available. Trivia is fun, different format than what I'm used to, but easy to learn the system. Loses stars due to bar service. Stood at the "order here" spot for ten minutes, no one in front of me. While I stood there, five other people came up to the bar after me (and stood on either side of me) and were served before I was. I eventually gave up. Didn't have the best experience here. The first thing we noticed when we entered was a weird smell, maybe over cooked shrimp? It was not an inviting space with the tv stereo blasting an action tv show overhead and even playing on speakers on the outside porch where there was no tv. You could barely talk to your neighbor and only heard the sound of gunshots and people beating each other up in the tv show. It was really aggravating and uncomfortable. At the bar tender's advice we ordered a pitcher of their signature Savannah River, IPA because a pitcher was cheaper. After pouring it into just cleaned but soaking wet glasses we tried our best to drink the whole thing but it was pretty gross and we couldn't finish. Wish we had all tried different things. Got out of there as soon as we could get a lyft to meet us. Also bathroom was unclean. General feeling of uncleanliness all around. I would not go back or recommend. read more

It's crazy that the first two breweries in Augusta are incredibly close to each other, but it may be the beginnings of a great brewery crawl one day. Compared to River Watch, this place is much, much bigger. They do attract quite the crowd and it seems like it can overwhelm the two bartenders that are usually serving drinks. I've only had their core beers, but I do like the brown ale a lot. However, all of their beers are at least decent so it's worth the visit. read more
