Sausalito Ferry Co. Novelty Toy and Gift Store is a fun little tourist store that's a cut above the surrounding "Sausalito shirts/hoodies/hats" touristic traps around it. They sold quite a few games, toys, puzzles, as well as canvas totes in different styles and sizes, and a few of the lighted bookshelf decor pieces that I've been hearing about the past few years. Their prices were quite good and the space is a lot of fun to browse through, though a bit tight when you have larger groups visiting. We had such a wonderful day on the ferry! We started by taking the Jack London ferry to the SF Ferry Building. These ferries have great front windows, offering gorgeous views along the way. From there, we hopped on the ferry from SF to Sausalito. This one felt a bit older and didn't offer the same scenic window views, but the staff were definitely easy on the eyes--so no complaints there! The round-trip prices are reasonable, and the ferries were always on time, making the experience even better. I can't wait for my next trip! read more

Ferry 5 Stars. Sausalito City Parking 1 Star. I pulled into a spot. Paid for the session online. Got out of my car. Asked the parking officer a question about the walking route to the ferry and the construction. While we had our backs turned to the officer he wrote us a parking ticket!!!! He directed us one way, wrote the ticket, and waived to us when we looked back!!!! It's officer 5293. What great customer service for Sausalito! Wow!!!! Use any other Ferry. Model, diorama, and dollhouse people, if you love the treasure hunt of finding tiny items. this is the best store in Sausalito. I got hooked by the tiny bubble teas (under $2 each, good for scales 1:18 to 1:12) and then ended up with tiny pigs (1:24 or smaller), tiny candy bags (up to 1:6), and a little car from old metal cans (probably 1:48?). There are tons of other small items, plus the largest selection of those laser-cut metal construct-a-landmark kits that I've ever seen. The owner is super-nice, and it's a fun environment. You can spend hundreds on some of the bigger items or walk away with a little bag of delightful things for under $20. read more

This is not your typical souvenir store that you find in Fisherman's Wharf or Chinatown. No, it's not that kind of souvenir store where they sell cheap similar things that you don't need. Well, they do sell things here that you don't need....but only way cooler. Collectors will find this place as a haven of toy memorabilia from movies, TV shows and even anime. You can browse and spend a considerable amount of time here with their vast merchandise that will keep you entertained. Yes, you might not need it, but it'll be cool to have one or two of these things displayed in your home or even on your office desk. This place is also good for gifts and it's not just for tourists. We've purchased a few shirts here that were on the sales rack that are totally cool. If you have to guess, it's sports related from the local Bay Area teams that are not available elsewhere. Went here a few months back with my boyfriend and it was on his list of stores to hit up that sold Funko Pops. I was pleasantly surprised that the store contained a lot of items that collectors would be interested in, including Wacky Wobblers and mini toy figures. They were having a sale on their common pops, so I ended up getting a couple that I wanted for my collection. There are little gifts or souvenirs you can get for family and friends or even yourself and the staff was pretty nice as well when we checked out. read more

I'd give this store * * * * * (five stars) based on the fact that you can't help but smile in amusement when you first enter and you'll be able to find all sorts of unique items inside. They have novelties and gifts galore, for almost every theme, so perfect for anyone with a quirky personality or pop culture type interest. If you're gonna make any stop in Sausalito, let it be at this awesome shop with nifty things you do not/DO need. My friend and I found Sausalito Ferry after walking around the town and was immediately drawn to the window display that featured tee-shirts saying, "Keep Sausalito Salty." I dig it! The shop has novelty toys, a HUGE collection of Funko, some souvenirs that AREN'T cheesy and fun stationary and small gifts. This is one of those places where you browse through the stuff, and immediately think of someone because you know they'll just love whatever item you're looking at. This store is fabulosity to the power of 15 I wandered in here while walking the Sausalito strip, and as soon as I stepped inside I yearned for someone to share the experience with. Junk toys that are cool to look at but you don't really need... Gift stores. Touristy stores. Gag stores, you know? But i swear to you, this is unlike any other knick-knack toy store I've ever been to! The prices are fair and they have things I've never even seen before! I mean they have EVERYTHING here! The staff remains somewhat inept and rude, either not knowing the price of things when they are at the register, running about trying to find prices in the store, or they brush past you and snap their gum, looking like just another teenager in the store. The store is fun, but it's not anything you can't find at Archie McPhee, and probably get cheaper ordering from Archie online. It's a novelty store, impulse buy sort of place, and that's fine, there's always room for that, amid the stores selling crystal dolphins and jewelry made of turquoise and leather. read more

They carry the whole Tintin collection (at least in English). Just with that, enough said. A must stop for any lover of the iconic boy and doggie full of adventures. I liked browsing there all I wanted with no questions asked, even if I ended not buying anything (I gave away my full collection of Tintin comics, so no need to buy them again, but is so cool to just refresh the good childhood memories). I have a new favorite gift shop! There were LITERALLY so many cool toys/gifts/fun whatchamacallits that I only got to look through a quarter or so of them all! Large store w/ just about everything innocent & fun you can imagine. Prices are a little higher than I'd prefer but still, nothing but sheer awesomeness here. The service was so-so but not issue enough to lower the rating.. So much awesomeness here that they still deserve 5 fatties. Need to go back to get one of those "EVOLVE" Jesus fish/creature emblems you put on the back of your car (lol). Can't wait to go back & see what else they have. Bad@$$ store!!! P.S. They've also got a ton of PF merchandise, including a very cute SF edition t-shirt. For some reason, I liked the selection here better than at the PF Store in Union Square. * Interesting selection of candy. Especially enjoyed looking at the gum/mints which included "Ass Kisser" and "Shut the Hell Up" packaged gum. Fun for work, eh? * Lots of random toys including Nintendo Famicom paraphernalia from Japan and cute solar powered desk toys. * Largest selection of Emily the Strange clothing, bags, etc I've seen yet in a store. * Weird, but they sell assorted dental tools like mirrors and plaque removers. "Sausalito Ferry Company Gift Store" (Don't get fooled by this typical tourist-trap-like name!) is a perfect shop for toy and figure collectors like me! This place reminds me of one of those stores in Japan! *PROS* - Wide variety of selection from everywhere, especially from Asia and Europe - they even have genuine Tin Tin stuff! (So expensive, though...) - Their selection tends to be cute and funny side - that's perfect for me! - The pricing is decent. - Young store guys were really nice. - Perfect for gift shopping! *CONS* - Some of those Miyazaki characters, like Totoro might be copies from China/Korea/Taiwan. Happened to see this place on a weekend visit to Sausalito. Figurines always catch my eye, so my girlfriend and I decided to check this place out. This is THE place to go for figurines, Funko, and mini animals! There was so much to browse through, it was almost overwhelming. There was a great selection of Funko vinyl and bobbleheads as well as various gift and gadget items. It has to be the biggest collection of Funko I've ever seen. The prices are very reasonable and the staff was nice. We left with a Funko Marty McFly and a baby rubber snake. read more
