The filets are big and you get two of them plus two sides. I'm an okra fan and the mac & cheese was a good choice too. This was worth the drive to Centerpoint. I want to come back for brunch one day.

The first time I had SKA was in 2020 at an event at The Hangout (now closed). It was a bad…read moreexperience .. the event started late, the food wasn't good, the building had no heat on New Year's Day. Just bad all around. I said never again. Fast forward to this week, 7/2024. It was my turn to pick a place for happy hour. I called SKA last Thursday & asked what time happy hour is? The staff replied "Either 4pm or 5pm until 7pm." I asked her to please find out and I'd wait. In response she asked me what time I planned to come. I told her, 4pm. She responded, "YOU SHOULD BE FINE AROUND THEN." I was baffled and just asked for her name and ended the call ... We went to Courtyard 280 ‍ It just so happened that my friends picked SKA for brunch today, Saturday. I'd resolved that I was going for the company and would put all of my past experiences aside. My food experience had been prior the food truck and brick and mortar. So I was open to giving them a chance. I'm so so glad I did! They refer Saturday brunch as a Day Party. It's on the louder end of the spectrum, which is perfectly appropriate for a day party vibe. There was a DJ ... at some point my friend asked, Are they playing GloRilla?!? lol! I'm a fan so it was fine. Our waiter had great energy and he was attentive. The decor is nice. We ordered the mimosa flight. They were good, 4 flavors - strawberry, mango, blueberry, peach - not too sweet. I ordered shrimp and grits. The grits were thick (that's how I like them) and well seasoned. The shrimp was plentiful! was not over cooked at all. There was shrimp in most every bite. I'd recommend this. My friend ordered the fried catfish and grits and said she enjoyed it. The biscuit tasted canned - it wasn't needed though. This was a nice experience!

I've seen them in various parts of town so chances are you've seen them around the Birmingham area at least once or twice. Known for their burgers and polish dogs the menu serves up delicious food that's saucy and fresh. They even have some vegan options for you. My go to is the polish dog that comes with a welcomed large polish sausage, onions and peppers drenched in their special sauce. The polish sausage is thick and seasoned with garlic. The hot dog bun and everything in between is a must try!

Big portions of familiar, messy, delicious things, a compact menu, and quick friendly service. It has been around for so long that it's something of an anchor of the local food truck scene, and those who've eaten anything from it probably all hope it sticks around for a long time. It's meat-forward. Big polish sausage dogs covered in chili/debris/perfectly sautéed onions, burgers that are dripping with goodness and heavy when you pick them up. Fries that are always crisp and piping hot. Long term consistent execution. As sure a thing as you're gonna get from a truck. If you see it, and you're hungry, consider yourself blessed.

These meals come EXACTLY as pictured, topped high with all kinds of delicious sauces and flavor. I have ordered many things from the truck, including the quesadilla, birria tacos, OG chicken tacos, cajun hot honey wings, and birria grilled cheese. All except the wings were a 10/10 because those were a 12/10!!!!!!!!! Seriously get what you pay for here. At first I was cautious of the $15 ticket on four tacos but oh boy these are NOT your momma's week night staples- these are a TREAT. One thing I really love in addition to the amazing flavor is the flexibility- Fat Charles' menu NEVER stays the same. He's always got some awesome new item (birria egg rolls, salmon plates, oxtail tacos, etc.) cooking up. In terms of service, I've never personally visited the truck (always seem to doordash) but I have never had an incorrect order. You can't go wrong with this place!

The Birria tacos are so flavorful that I only get something else when they are out of those. They also are not stingy with the Birria sauce, best in town with that feature. The Service was fast today. Normally there is a long line of friendly people talking about the food, making the atmosphere fro. If you haven't tried them, check them out. Lately they have shown up in Eastlake. Perfect for me

3.5ish, rounding up to 4 for nice service and a creative menu…read more I saw an advertisement about this Birmingham-area truck making the trip up to Huntsville for a Medieval Festival outside of Yellowhammer Brewing. I thought it'd be fun to see the costumes and vendors and the menu won me over, so I stopped by to grab a meal for me and my husband to share. The truck itself is large and impressively decorated/designed and really delivers on the sort of Valkyrie / Maiden of War fantasy. Food is made to order so they do tell customers about how long to expect to wait. I was fortune to arrive early in the event and only had one or two orders ahead of me. My fresh food was still out less than 15 minutes after I ordered it. Service was friendly, professional, and eager to answer questions. I ordered their simplest burger, The Primordial Axe (one patty, semi standard toppings like pickles, onion, lettuce tomato), a half order of their Locked and Loaded fries (bacon, ranch, jalapeños, cheese and grilled chicken), and I couldn't resist one of their limited time dessert specials, the Scarlet Orchard Bread Pudding, which was cinnamon bread with pumpkin custard, with apples, cranberries, and whipped cream on top. It was definitely a feast for the two of us! The burger was my least favorite thing. It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't super flavorful, and I thought a little too much fat hadn't rendered out of mine, which left it chewy in parts. The loaded fries were solid. Crinkle fries are my least favorite cut of fry, but these were cooked nicely and salted and seasoned well. The half serving was still absolutely huge and the toppings were layered well and were quite flavorful. Generous, well-cooked bacon, and nice fresh jalapeños too. The grilled chicken was cooked perfectly, was flavorful and juicy, and a pleasant surprise honestly - I don't usually love grilled chicken in loaded fries. Speaks to the quality of the meat and skill of the cook! The best thing to me was the dessert, though. One detractor - the cranberries were very bitter lol. But other than that, the spiced apples were a nice balance of crisp and tender as well as sweet and sour. The bread was soft but not soggy and perfectly sweet. It was a super generous portion that made two dessert servings for each of us. Overall, I am glad I made the visit to try this truck and would recommend giving it a try.
