A couple months before the wedding I was sent a form to complete (that I had to reach out to get) about which specific songs I wanted played during each part of the ceremony. I sent it back and everything seemed like it was fine. The day of the wedding rolls around, and I can't really speak to the quality of the songs since I didn't hear anything except the song I was to walk down to. Which, let me preface this- I chose this specific song because my grandfather used to sing it to my grandmother who recently passed away. I get up there and hear that my song is already ending! They had switched my song with the wedding party's! I was pretty flustered and before I could ask them to just start again I had been shoved down the aisle by my wedding planner (whole other story). Anyway the wedding was still amazing and I get to spend my life with my best friend BUT wanted to warn anyone else if they choose to use Will make sure you are VERY thorough. Especially if you have music that has sentimental value. PS- another red flag: my wedding planner recommended them who I incidentally don't recommend as well...

An informal house concert in the backyard with an adoring audience, and great musicians having a great time performing and improvising accompaniments. I forgot how powerful live performances are with the spontaneity and joy that goes with it. It was a perfect date night with my wife.

Jane was amazing as Cinderella for my daughter's 8th birthday. She stayed in character for the…read moreentire hour and a half talking in a sweet, soft voice and giggling now and then. There were nine girls here wanting her undivided attention and throwing question after question out to Cinderella. Cinderella answered each one (What state do you live in? How did you get here? What does your car look like?) without batting an eye and with perfect Cinderella-esque answers. She taught the girls a song and a couple of dances as well as making crowns out of pipe cleaners. Each and every girl was convinced that the real Cinderella had popped in to share time with them. It was an amazing experience for my daughter and one none of those nine girls will forget.

She looked fabulous, and although she was only "obligated" to sing one song, she wowed our staff with several songs! She then spent a good bit of time visiting with our staff during the party, and was kind enough to pose for a number of photos with various staff members. She arrived on time and was always pleasant to deal with - in advance and during the party. I would highly recommend Jane to anyone who would like to hire her as a performer!

They will modify dress and music to your needs, we asked for black tie/formal and they looked great! There must be ten in the band with all the brass you need to perform a wide variety of music. We chose some Motown and Classic Rock for the adults and the bride selected music for their guests. Their manager, Mark was very easy and professional to work with. He was attentive to our needs and prepared us for with all of the details needed. It was a pleasure to work with him. The band was perfect in so many ways, the female singers put their heart and soul into the lyrics and the sax, trumpets, trombones just topped off the group. The entire band is a great ensemble of professionals. You can't go wrong with Memphis Train.

That part of the concert was great - but the Christmas concert this year (this is the first year I have been to their Christmas concert) was not good. Like I said, the chorus was great, but their guest artist was a "scoopy" praise singer. If you are a singer, you may know what I mean by scoopy - sliding into the notes instead of hitting them right on - not a clear voice either. That I could forgive if I liked the music. Some of the (more traditional Christmas and some rock) songs were nice and the interweaving of different songs was very cool. If you are into Christian Praise type music - then this is for you. I didn't like it at all. There is plenty of great Christmas music (traditional and modern) and this was not it.

Their website is simple to navigate and outlines the songs they play as well as demo audio of their popular songs, which we definitely took advantage of. Communication has primarily been through email with Samantha, one of the two founders. Responses have been quick, and she was very understanding of our budget and the time constraints that all weddings tend to be burdened with. Overall, very pleasant to work with. In addition to their online demos, we had the opportunity to hear them live, and we were both pleased with how they sounded. Come the wedding day, they were on time, professional, and their performance was excellent! They also nailed all the transitions and timing. We would definitely recommend this group as their experience really shows.

What a spectacularly dramatic (and sometimes humorous) show! From the beginning where the large overhead chandelier shook and sparked...dum dum dum dum...to the very end when Christine does not choose the Phantom...the performance was first class. I've been to several events at the venue (Bass Concert Hall @UT campus) and am always amazed at how the cast and crew utilize the smaller stage and enhance the acoustics in the 36 year old theatre. However, this was my first time sitting in the level one balcony (as opposed to ground floor level seating). I actually think for this particular performance it allowed for an enhanced perspective. 5 stars? Yes. Not only for the production, but for the venue as well. I believe Bass Concert Hall is still the largest theatre in Austin, squeezing in 2900 cramped seats. The drinks are highly over-priced (as expected), the building is dated; however, they manage to keep it maintained and all of the staff is as nice as can be. It's what we have in ATX and it has a certain "small town" charm. The artist that perform are always excellent at their jobs and the shows are always great. The sets and scenes are creative and the overall experience is fun. I really enjoy watching the musicals. Texas State University has jumped headlong into the big leagues with the addition of a…read moremulti-million dollar Performing Arts Center to nurture and showcase their talent. It includes a 400-seat auditorium, the Patti Strickel Harrison Theatre, where we saw the inaugural performance of the musical, Anything Goes, this weekend. Clearly outstanding, Broadway-worthy productions such as this deserve this professional venue. Not only is it equipped with state-of-the-art technology, it's architecturally beautiful and comfortable for patrons. Our seats were on the floor level, but the wrap-around balcony is positioned so there isn't a bad seat in the house. It's an intimate setting, which is nice for connecting with the live shows, but it also means the shows sell out. Buy your tickets in advance online rather than driving out and chancing getting one at the door. Tickets for this performance ranged $15-$18, for a total of $20 with the purchase fees. Such a deal that I'll have no problem making the drive from Austin often with family and friends. Texas State Students get in for $8. Right across the street is the Edward Gary Street Garage, built in tandem with the PAC to allow for easy parking. We paid $5 flat rate. The PAC also houses a 300-seat recital hall, rehearsal and classroom space, so there's a lot more going on in that building than the shows. No wonder their programs are becoming nationally known.

What a wonderful night at The ZACH Theater! This was my first time ever attending a show at The…read moreZACH and I was thoroughly impressed with the venue and the show. I had the opportunity from Yelp as a Yelp Elite member to experience the show on their behalf. I have always been a Janis fan but did not know her entire backstory until this night. I learned so much about Janis, her inspirations, and her success. Mary Bridget Davis embodies Janis so well, I was thoroughly impressed. The entire cast was extensively talented in singing and acting. The show also became so interactive, with encouraging the audience to dance and sing, just like a regular concert. I had a wonderful time!

Do not miss this production about Texas' own Janis Joplin! The cast, band, and crew area absolutely…read morephenomenal and has put a lot of love and soul into this show. You will sing, clap, and even get up and dance to all the songs and numbers that move you and let me tell you - they ALL do! Don't be afraid to get up and dance it out. People in front and behind you are most likely doing the same thing and/or thinking about it. Fine crowd tonight to where I felt like I was being electrified with some good soul, rhythm, and blues tunes. The singers and band played off the crowd's energy and delivered an amazing show. Loved the great biography as the show played on highlighting Janis Joplins raising, background, touring, and life. Paired with images of her family and the dramatic lighting you are really taken back to 60's-70's as Janis found her voice in her music journey. Grab a drink at the bar and check out the small photo booth in the main concession area as it's free. Also expect a 20 min intermission so go to the lobby and stretch your legs. Parking was super easy and free along Riverside Dr. by Lady Bird Lake and in the lot past the theater.
