tl;dr - Not bad, not great either.
The entire chain of SATS gyms suffer from one major flaw - there is no subscription model that doesn't include classes. So for people like me that don't do classes but exclusively lift weights it is automatically a seriously overpriced chain of gyms. They are among the best in the city though.
This particular one is close to my home so I'm pretty much a regular. The venue is ok, it has a bright room with some free weights and a competition standard platform which is nice. It can host 2 people at the time but personal trainers can dibs it. The room with the squat rack (=my church) and dumbbells is in the far away corner of the facility and has no windows. It's kind of crowded and suffers from questionable ventilation. There's also a big room with big windows looking over the street where the entrance is with a lot of cardio stuff and machines. I rarely use the equipment there but when I have it does its job.
The locker room is fine. Many SATS gyms offer free shower gel which is great because I always forget it - but this one doesn't. Not sure why.
It'll get extremely crowded at times - to the point where everything takes 2-3 times longer during peak hours. While that may just be an unavoidable fact I'd wish that a premium priced gym like SATS would have better strategies to counter that in place.
Staff has always been friendly and helpful so that's good. A very weird service related thing is that they close at 1800 hours weekends. That is ridiculous.
In sum a totally ok gym, one of the better SATS ones (the best I'd give 4/5) but it's overpriced and has a lot of room for improvement. read more
