I was traveling throughout Europe and hadn't had moxy time to stop and relax, and sturebadet definitely checked that box. The price for a day pass may give you sticker shock at first, but it includes use of the Turkish bath, pool, sauna, jacuzzi, quiet aromatherapy room, and gym. I spent at least 2 1/2 hours here, and had a nice healthy breakfast at their restaurant. The look of the facility as well as the calm demeanor cannot be beat.

A swanky gym+pool+spa inside a swanky shopping mall in the center of town. It's got plenty of amenities: a BEAUTIFUL pool that is the center of focus, all kinds of exercise equipments, steam room and sauna in the shower areas, a heated aroma therapy room with lounge chairs in the basement, a big jacuzzi hottub, two heated stone seats covered with mosaic tiles next to the pool, free tea and fresh fruits, a cafe that serves light fare--perfect for in between dips in the pool. The changing rooms are stocked with all high quality shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotion, and all sorts of hair products (they even have dry shampoo!). It's spread across multiple levels and requires a little bit of exploring to find all the rooms. The whole place is light filled with a three floor tall atrium/pool area. Other reviewers complained about noise. I thought it was totally fine. It's a gym, not just a spa. So expect people in exercise clothes dashing across the floors. There was more bustle around midday when I arrived. It was very quiet when I left around 3 pm. I came here for a 50 minute foot massage to sooth those tired soles that did too much walking. (The hard life of a tourist.) Had to book a couple of days in advance. They don't seem to have a lot of treatment rooms or massage therapists. So they seem to be in high demand. The service was very professional. My therapist was expertly trained. But the treatment was more on the soothing rub side than the muscle relief side. If I hadn't gotten a separate deep tissue massage the day before, I would have left a little dissatisfied. But it was great for what it was: five minute soak, gentle exfoliation and massage, paraffin (I think?) treatment, aroma therapy, and a very brief face/scalp/neck massage at the end. She gave me hot stones to hold in my hands, which I really liked. I feel asleep on the chair and left very relaxed. The total came to about 1200sek, which is about $150 usd at the current exchange rate. A bit steep. But it's still cheaper than the spa at the Grand Hotel. It sounds like there were more fancy spa-type things like different kinds of showers. Think of Sturebadet as a posh gym with a good spa and a beautiful pool, and your expectations will be happily met.

I live in central California and have never experienced a place like this. Finding it was part of the fun..sort of a hidden palace in an underground shopping center, Sture Galleria. There were 3 levels we could access with the regular spa day entry fee. One level had a silent aroma relaxation room. Another had a "hydrotherapy" massage pool (fancy hot tub), gyms, a pool and lounge areas plus fruit and beverages. And the upstairs had gym equipment overlooking the pool, workout class rooms and a cafe that does a buffet of mainly salads for about $14. It was a good and convenient lunch. The lockerrooms (which were very nice and had everything you need) also had dry and humid saunas in both the mens and womens (located on different floors). My husband and I were there about 5 hours, each had a 50 minute full body massage and in total, spent approximately $300 total. It was worth it after a 10 mile hike the day before!

Though I didn't do much research before heading to Stockholm for the week, there were two main things that I wanted to get out of this trip: Swedish meatballs and a Swedish massage. Sturebadet definitely provided the latter, and so much more! The massages were a little more pricey than I'm used to - about $137 USD for a 50 minute session - but it also gets you access to the entire spa for the day, which in my opinion is well worth it. There's a sign for Sturebadet on the outside of the shopping complex, and the check in desk is on the ground floor across from a cute little bakery. Booking our treatments online was a breeze, as was the check in process. They provide fluffy bathrobes and slippers upon arrival. The terry cloth slippers were a bit awkward as they get quite soggy as you wander around the spa, but you could always request a fresh pair. The locker rooms themselves were super nice and well equipped, with really nice spa quality products, hair dryers and straighteners, and all the hair products you can imagine. The spa itself is huge - a quiet room downstairs with an aromatherapy chamber, a large pool with loungers on the main level, an awesome hydrotherapy massage pool, and a legit Turkish bath on the fourth floor. If you've never gone for a steam followed by a cold pool dip before, I highly recommend trying it! It's quite a shock to the body when you get in, but it's definitely invigorating! We didn't get a chance to use the fitness center or attend any of the classes just because of poor timing on our part, but the gym seemed well equipped. As for the massage, Therese was my therapist and she was great! I usually go for deep tissue massages that leave you sore for days, and the Swedish style is quite different, but super relaxing nonetheless. And the complementary fresh fruit and tea station was a nice touch. Sturebadet was the perfect way to spend half a day of our vacation. Though it was a little bit spendy for me, sometimes you just have to treat yourself!

I had to have a Swedish massage while in Sweden! Is it really a trip to Sweden without one (and…read moremaybe some meatballs!)? I of course took to Yelp to find the best place to do this. Definitely found the right one! This was a magical experience. The hotel is beautiful, and just screams luxury. I checked in early, because I wanted to have some extra time in the wet areas, and not feel rushed. Everyone was friendly, and I was greeted with a robe, flip flops, and a locker to place my items. The pool, sauna, steam room, hot tub, and cold plunge were all fantastic additions to prepare me for my massage. The massage was wonderful (it was a guy, which at first made me nervous but turned out great), and I left feeling completely relaxed. I did mine in the evening, which was perfect because I was able to shower and go straight to bed! My only complaint would be that it was quite warm in there, so I did sweat, but who doesn't want all the toxins out of your body?! Especially after all the lovely wine and mead on my vacation! No pics as cameras are not allowed!

We got there an hour early to enjoy the myriad of features they had before the massage. In the women's only locker there was a cold plunge, waterfall shower, and sauna. In the co-ed shared space there was a small indoor pool, a room which seemed like a giant jacuzzi, and a steam room. After using all the amenities, we had a wonderful 90 minute Swedish Massage upstairs in their treatment rooms. Fantastic massage and a must while in Stockholm.

tl;dr - It's not a great gym but seriously cheap & I think it's worth the price…read more Fitness24seven has positioned itself as the cheap gym alternative with subscription for around 200SEK/month for full access to all gyms. That's extremely cheap in comparison to SATS for example which will run you 700SEK/month for a similar deal. And it's worth noting that already at this base level 24/7 beats SATS on the important variable of opening hours. It's been a couple of years since I was a member, has since gotten an ok deal with my job for SATS that's also nearby my office. But I'll write from memory. The venue is small & not great. Very very crowded during peak hours to the point where I wouldn't go. Visiting during non peak hours is an ok story - there's a squat rack, a couple of barbells, dumbells etc. An ok warm up/stretch room and a lot of machines + some cardio things like bikes and rowing machines. Locker room (for men) is shitty. Kind of dirty at times and just not a place I'd like to change in. Ususally one of the showers would not work properly. Worth mentioning there's a "tjejgym" (girl gym) which I've never been to but should be worth checking out if you qualify by being a woman. I think that's a good initiative as I'm sure it can be intimidating to be a girl among a dozen dudes trying to get a barbell during peak times. In sum - not a great gym at all but it really does its job and for 200SEK/month it's kind of a steal. Can't really give it more than a 3/5 though.

I have trained here numerous times and it is a great gym with a wonderful "suburban" atmosphere…read more None of that wanna-be-glamorous attitude - this is a place to lift weights, and preferably heavy ones too. The floor plan is far from optimal, with the upper floor only housing the front desk (where they sell protein shakes, fruit and GI food) and some seats to eat, and the lower floor where the actual gym is divided between a set of separate rooms. Doors are stone arches, the ceiling is low. Wheelchair access is non-existent. There are a few cardio machines but not many. There's a separate room with padded floor for stretching and yoga ball exercises. The equipment is as rough and worn as the stone walls in this basement facility - but here you accept it as part of the charm. It's an environment to gain inspiration from. This is an independent gym with a smaller client base, so this gym doesn't get crowded as much as the facilities if the common gym chains.
