    Unagi Don Eel Bowl
    Jordan O.

My parents live in Orlando, so I didn't fly here from San Antonio solely for the eel bowl... BUT... My mom had raved about this eel bowl, to the extent that when I was in town we made a point to come here. And man did it hit the spot. The eel tasted fresh with a great eel sauce taste and the rice was warm and sticky and delicious. Honestly I would easily have the dish again while I'm still here it was fantastic. The dumplings were awesome as well, I enjoyed them without sauce and then with the spicy chili sauce it gave them a different flavor. Just awesome!!!

Great spot to enjoy some sushi! For such a small storefront, they offer a good amount of options. The food was fresh and flavorful, with generous portion sizes. Prices are reasonable and staff were friendly. Perfect for a casual meal or a treat for sushi lovers! This establishment is located inside Avalon's Marketplace, which has a very causal modern vibe. Order at the counter and have food brought to your table when it's ready.

They offer a decent variety of rolls, sashimi, nigiri and other classic fried apps. I wasn't super hungry this weekend when we went and didn't want anything heavy or hot. The purple sweet potato is a favorite of mine so that was a no brainer. It was simple, but perfectly satisfying with with slight crunch of the tempura potato, fresh and bright cucumber and the touch of that crab salad stuff for some creaminess. This is where Joe loves the shrimp tempura. Those are delicious!! This is part of the Marketplace at Avalon so the ambience is casual food hall. Indoor/outdoor seating. Great place to grab a beer and grub. I haven't ordered directly from the counter, but the woman who brought the food was nice as can be so I'd say the service looks good.

Satori Sushi is an unbelievable experience. Their sushi has unfortunately ruined all sushi for me as I don't think there is another place better. The freshness and quality of their ingredients is clear from each bite of food whether that is sushi or their snow ice. Satori delivers passion and love in every hand crafted meal. The family owned restaurant is worth the extremely long drive to me as I'm always treated with kindness and enjoy the amicable service given. This is the marketplace with tons of options for food and dessert but I would rather come to this place. I've had pizza from one of the spots nearby or even tacos from another stand but truly the hard work put into their restaurant shows and pays off. You are always given sushi that looks like it belongs on a food blog. The food hall ambiance doesn't deter from the quality or experience of the food. Their snow ice is to DIE for. Every flavor I've tried is amazing. 100000/10 Worth driving over an hour for

For a food hall sushi place, they have a lot of choices. I was just looking for a quick snack and decided on the Shrimp Dumplings which were amazing! I also tried the shrimp tempura which was way more tempura than shrimp. I've never seen shrimp that skinny. They had a lot of choices for sushi and I'd have to think about it if I was in a sushi mood. The other reviews sound good so hopefully they hold up to that. With Lemonshark Poke out of the Avalon Marketplace, this seems like a worthy replacement.

I went for the grand opening today. All orders are 25% off. The service was nice. Since they're new it did take a little while to get the rolls. The classic tiger roll was falling apart a little so I may recommend they figure out what happened. The rolls were good size though. A bit more expensive than I'm used to for the classic rolls. (However, I've heard the rent for a space in this area is pretty high so it's understandable.) If I was in the area I'd probably go back to try one of their snow cones. I wasn't in a sweet mood so didn't try it today. If you're in their area I would recommend checking them out to help support local small businesses. They do charge extra for sauces so be aware of that. Overall I'm curious to see how things will go. Wishing them the best of luck!

Satori is a great edition to Avalon Marketplace! I've had the pleasure of eating there 3 times since they recently opened and every roll has been on point and excellent! They have a great selection if you're a sushi lover. My favorite is the salmon tuna rollover! The owner and workers have great customer service. He gave us a complimentary miso soup the last time we went. My wife loved it and ate the whole bowl.

I have been a couple of times since they have opened in the Avalon Marketplace. Their sushi is fresh and fun! Their snow is refreshing. This stall was a great add to the variety within the food hall.

Honestly with all the other great reviews, I had high hopes for this place and it was a total let down. I have had my fair share of sushi (one of my fav foods) in my life to scope out great quality ones and I felt that this was lacking. Not sure if it was an off day - but we got a few diff rolls along with calamari all to share. Didn't care for any of them. The rice was not cooked well, very cold and grainy. There was no flavor besides one of the rolls that was literally drowning in eel sauce - I couldn't even finish it. The calamari was sadly pretty bad - very tough and chewy, and the breading was too thick and soft, not the light crispy coating that I'm used to. With so many other great quality sushi places around, can't say that I will be back.

From the moment I walked in, the vibe was inviting, and the service was top-notch. But the real stars were the food--every bite was incredible! The cheese curds were absolutely phenomenal: crispy, gooey, and bursting with flavor. I can honestly say they're the best I've had in the city. And the teriyaki bowl? A perfect blend of savory and sweet, with tender meat and fresh veggies that made every mouthful a delight. Whether you're a local or just visiting, I would totally recommend The Bao Spot. The restaurant and bathrooms are always clean, which is something I really appreciate. They also have some really cool murals on the walls that add a lot of character. The ambiance is a little dark inside, but it gives the place a fun, laid back vibe. My only suggestion would be to offer their lunch specials for online ordering. Since they don't take phone orders, anyone with a short lunch break has to place their order in person and wait, which can be a bit inconvenient, especially when you don't know how busy they are. Overall, it's a great spot with tasty food, a unique atmosphere, and a clean, welcoming environment. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try!

Stopped by for a quick lunch with my mom. This place was pretty easy to find. You can park along…read morethe street or in the garage which it is attached to. They have a little sign by the street to help you find it/advertising, as it's in the hallway of the plaza. It's on the ground level so we didn't have to take any stairs or elevator. Upon entry, there was no one to greet us. We headed to the register where they had a bunch of menus and pictures. While we were looking, the lady came out from the back with food items for someone who was already seated. Everything looked good. There was a guy waiting for his order to go, another guy waiting to eat by himself, and another lady also waiting to eat by herself. There was some interview going on between two guys- sounded like it was about the restaurant as I heard them talking about kimchi fried rice. It sounded so good, I ordered that with shrimp. Mom had the bento box lunch. We asked for two cups for water, which she said she would bring to us. We sat for awhile, and saw the others and the to go person get their food. The water cups did not come until after she brought us our food. Maybe that's the way they do it? Anyhow- our food was out in a reasonable time and everything was delicious. I tried some of mom's beef bento box- she got the bulgogi beef and we were both a little shocked that it was ground beef and not thin slices, but the flavor was spot on. My mom did not finish her lunch and I had a small portion of rice left. When I asked for one to go box- the lady almost seemed upset that I didn't want two! She asked me what about my leftovers? To which I said my mom was taking everything in one box. lol. We don't like to waste and I wasn't going to toss mine but it seemed silly to get another box for the little bit of rice I had. So we put it all in one. We paid at the register and took our box. There are many more items on the menu I'd like to try. My mom was pretty impressed with the place. It's nothing to look at, really, but the food is good and she will probably bring her friends here for lunch.

Lucky for us Nifty's spot was right around the corner from our hotel. Once we entered we were immediately greeted by the owner. She was so nice! It was great having a conversation with her. Looked to be a small family/husband & wife operation. The best places usually are. Simple decor- anime and Kpop covered the walls- I loved it. It's a very casual place. She recommended the Gochujang ramen: spicy, sweet, creamy & umami. It was everything I wanted in a bowl. I ordered with beef bulgogi - the boiled egg was perfect and soft. Highly recommend if you're in DTO. Yum, 감사합니다!
