Loved this quaint winery! We met family here and enjoyed the free tasting (8 samples) and then purchased a bottle of wine to drink while we relaxed. There are no tables, but a bar top that you can stand at. I'm the winter they don't have food so you're allowed to bring your own in, which was fun. The bottles for purchase for reasonably priced and very tasty. We all took home several to enjoy later on. I can't say enough about how friendly the staff was with us too. They made our visit very enjoyable and gave us recommendations of other places to go in the area. I would definitely go back and visit again next time I'm passing through northern Indiana! read more

I'm not a drinker anymore, but a couple of my family members wanted to stop off and give it a try. Immediately greeted upon entry. We were welcomed and offered spots at the bar for a tasting or to go in the back area. We elected for the back; What a neat little area! Loads of barrels and metal containers that are part of their process. The bring the grapes in from California and begin. My mom and brother had their samples and enjoyed some of them so much, they bought bottles to bring back home. If you're passing through Indiana on the turnpike, do stop by. read more

For a small winery Satek Winery has an excellent selection of wines and they are quality. These guys have a passion for creating an excellent wine and they succeed. Before trying their wines, I was a snob about fruit wines. You know the code: The drier the better. But they were able to bring me down off of my high-horse and learn that fruit wines deserve an equal place in the world of wine. Yes, they have an excellent syrah, cabernet, and corot noir, along with dechaunac and chambourcin. I'm not sure about other wineries but Satek's pinot noir contains espresso. It is a subtle flavor but I bet it will give you an extra charge that you might not have been expecting. Larry's Luscious Dry Red is a favorite, along with their 101 Lakes. But if we're gonna get right down to it, I am a complete fan of their blackberry wine and their ice wines. Right there is dessert magic. Satek Winery is worthy of not only your glance but your full attention. read more

My hubby and my sister stopped here for a wine tasting. We could have a total of 8 tastings which was awesome. I ended up buying a bottle of the apple and mango wine which both were solid choice. I ended up drinking the apple wine while out later on my sister's boat. It was light and great for day drinking on the lake. read more

My out of town relatives came through Satek on their way to Chicago. They were looking for a couple of nice gift bottles, but unable to taste (driving). The staff raved about their finest bottles selling them a 2007 Chardonnay and a 2005 Cab. Excuse me, it's 2023! Satek should be ashamed selling a 16 year old Chardonnay; I wouldn't even cook with it! Tossing the Cab unopened! Avoid this unscrupulous vineyard at all costs. read more

Little winery but yummy wines! Let me start off with saying that I am no wine connoisseur and I rarely drink alcoholic beverages. However, I really enjoyed some of the fruit wines here! I drink the occasional moscato, fyi. The mango wine here is SO refreshing! It's like a delicious cocktail ALREADY. The taste REALLY delivers on amazing mango aroma!! I am also taking home a jar of the red wine chocolate fudge so that I can pour it over vanilla ice cream at home. Hubby really liked the Pinot Gris. He bought a glads to enjoy during the cozy tour. My wife and I like visiting wineries when vacationing. This is one of the BEST we tried. There are MANY award winning wines, one of which I believe was a Governor's Cup winner, being BEST in the State. Store Manager, Kevin does everything. He was VERY cordial and knowledgeable regarding grape picking and wine making. You can sample a good amount of wines for a very reasonable price which helps narrow down a selection. Their number one seller is 101 Lakes Red which is a concord grape wine and commonly the best seller anywhere I have been. My wife and I sampled it and told Kevin we liked it BEST and that is when we found it was their #1 seller. Of course. They have some VERY expensive wines there also which you can sample for a price. One is made from a grape that is harvested around the time of first freeze and it is a VERY narrow harvest time. Some years the crop doesn't make it which is why that selection is pricey as it is. If you are visiting Pokagon State Park yo.u should stop by Satek Winery. It rhymes with attic. read more

We love Satek! We stop by a few times a year for a tasting and to stock up. The wine is overall on the sweeter side which we like. The prices are very fair and the quality seems a lot better than buying from a grocery store. We bring our dog too because they have a nice outdoor area. read more

Holy cow, this was our favorite winery on our roadtrip from Colorado to Rhode Island. Try the blueberry and blackberry wines. I usually hate fruit wines but these were amazing (and just in time for Thanksgiving!) We left with 12 bottles of wine if that gives you any indication of how good this wine is. Across the other states we bought 18 in total, so adding 12 more means they were very good. Also, try the Port which isn't syrupy like a lot of other Ports. My favorites were probably Larry's and the Chardonnay but honestly there were none I hated and it was hard to choose. Also, try their Mango wine just for fun since it won the best Mango wine in the country. The guy who was serving us let us try as many wines as we wanted (free tastings) and encouraged us to try as many as we wanted. Great place to stop and it's literally only a mile off I-80 so it's the perfect break on a roadtrip. read more

This is a fun pit stop along a drive from Pittsburgh to Notre Dame (or any point further along the interstate, I suppose). We were looking for a way to break up the six(ish) hour drive home and saw a sign for this winery and figured we would give it a shot. The first thing it has going for it is the ease of getting there. It was less then a five minute drive off the highway and there were plenty of signs to direct you. The next great thing is that the wine tasting was free. The only charge was if you wanted to sample the ice wine, and if you are an ice wine lover, the $3 price for that tasting is worth it. (You get your $3 back if you purchase the ice wine). There was a wide variety of wines to sample. Really something for every palate. I sampled several dry reds that I really enjoyed. My favorites were the Merlot and the Syrah. Other wines that I enjoyed were the Soren's Favorite, and the moscato. My husband loved the 101 Lakes Red, but it was too sweet for my tastes. (think drinking grape juice) The fruit wines were all excellent. The Raspberry and blackberry were both a great blend of sweet and tart. My favorite, though, was the Mango Mania. It isn't often you see mango as a wine flavor. The only reason this is knocked down one star is that the staff there at the time we were was a tad unprofessional. The older gentlemen serving the wine was courteous and attentive, but there were two younger individuals who kept popping in and out behind the counter talking about getting rid of their farmer's tan and how they had partied too much the night before. It wasn't a big issue, but it did detract slightly from the experience. If you enjoy wine or are looking for a fun way to break up a long highway drive, this is a great stop. read more

The tasting area is small but sufficient and you can look into the filling/packaging area and see a little bit of the process. Choices are made with dry erase and you get eight for free! Most importantly, the wines are superb. We purchased several wines and a snack tray to enjoy in their outdoor seating area. I will be returning to this small town gem! read more

I really love this winery. Located just a hit north of Michigan it's nestled in the country with land surrounding it. It's gorgeous all year round really. The tasting room is quite small however they do their best to get you in and out with many staff members willing to help. That same staff is also super friendly and willing to go the extra mile. I've also done a tour of the winery and distilling rooms. It's very clean and was interesting to listen to and arch how the bottle and label I learned a few interesting tidbits as the tour went on. I also love their wine. It's not to heavy or fruity. Just a great balance of the finest ingredients and tender care in making each batch. There are just a few that I have not liked over the years. Summers include a ton of events that is free to the public and super fun to attend on nice weather evenings. Usually with each event they have special offers on their wines. But their wines are priced great to start with. They also give discounts if you buy 6 or more bottle or 12 or more bottles, which can be easy to do!! Plenary of parking in their private lot and close to the main entrance. This winery does get very busy so plan to spend 2-3 hours here. Even if you just walk around the property! Take a lunch and eat outside on the picnic tables. It's a great day to spend with friends loved ones or a date! Highly recommend Satek (rhymes with attic) winery. Okay people, Another winery I love and had to share. We were on a road trip to DC and stopped in here for a little break to stretch our legs (also so we could buy some good wine to enjoy while in DC). The winding driveway had vines on the side and lots of greenery and was very peaceful. They also have a huge tent and picnic tables and I saw some people with picnic baskets who bought a bottle and were eating lunch there. It's a really great idea and looked like a lot of fun. They have a small efficient private lot for parking as well. Upon entry, we were greeted promptly and sincerely; it was very refreshing. At the counter, Jason quickly gave us menus and asked what our preferences were and suggested wines that would suit our palates. He encouraged us to go down the list of some 27 distinct types of wines they carry. Every wine we tasted, he told us about how long the wine matured, what grapes they were made from (even the hybrids) and the history of the wines they carried, also he threw in a few random American History facts that related to the wine which I thought was very interesting. We left with 6 bottles of wine (you get a discount) and their AMAZING fudge (that he let us try with the raspberry wine- DO IT- don't pass up that opportunity)! The fudge is 4% alcohol and made with their chardonnay and is FANTASTIC! At roughly $12 a bottle, you really can't go wrong with this winery if you are on a budget; oh and by the way- you get an amazing product. I can't wait to go back. Go ahead spend a few bucks, I think at 6 bottles you get 10% off and I didnt stop at 6 bottles. Blasphemy, 6 bottles would get me through a week or two. ;) It's small and family like atmosphere keep me coming back. I've not had a tour, but maybe someday. Not my favorite. We visited this winery last weekend. It was on the Indiana grown wine trail. I normally love reds but just could not find one I liked. I did not appreciate the guy giving us samples who kept slamming his hands on the bar in front of me after every pour. It felt like he was rushing me. I also did not appreciate his humor. You wouldn't think you would find too many wineries in Northeast Indiana, but if you are in the area this is a good one to check out. It is casual and low-key, but you get eight tastings for free. The woman who was serving us even snuck another one in there. I wish I knew her name, but she was exceptionally friendly and made the experience very worthwhile. Their bottles are very reasonably priced as well. It would be nice if they had some cheese plates to offer with the wine, but that was okay. We did pair some chocolate with raspberry wine that we tasted and it was wonderful. read more

The fruit wines are the real stars of this winery. A large assortment covering many different fruits. The Framboesa was an outstanding raspberry dessert wine. The A-Bomb apple dessert wine/brandy was a keeper. My preferences in wine are at the opposite end of the spectrum; but the sweet fruit wines kept our attention. read more

Leaving out a star because the wine tastings are very teeny weeny pours but I'm from California so I'm used to more generous samplings. The wines are ok for Indiana and my "hometown". I live 5 miles from a different winery and still drive over 45 minutes to get to Satek, the wines are just so much better! We'd never been this far north in Indiana, so on a weekend trip to Michigan, we made sure to stop back on our drive home, especially since Satek Winery isn't too far off the interstate. This is one of the smaller wineries I've been to, but we received great service and the wine was good. Our favorite is their blueberry wine, which tastes great chilled or mulled. We have been away from Indiana for several years and finally came back to see our family and friends and this place was a "Top-on-the-Stop" list. A small little place out in the middle of nowhere but i do love this place. It is close to a place we go camping each year and we always stop in for a tasting and bottle or two of wine. The staff is always great at what they do. They have a good selection of wines form dry to sweet and all in between. It is set off the road in a little wooded area with tables in a grassy area to sit and enjoy a glass (or bottle). Or if you would like a little privacy they have a few tables in the woods. Even if you aren't a big wine drinker stop here and they might make one out of you. read more
