Highly recommend Acres Away if you are in the area! I came here with a group of girlfriends during our girls weekend in Angola. The property is beautiful and the girls working were amazing and very knowledgeable about all wine selections! They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside for a while before moving inside to cool off and grab a bite to eat. We ordered pizza (with gluten free options, thank you!) and it was very delicious! By the time we left the place was very busy which is telling for how wonderful it was to visit! Will definitely be stopping by next time I am in town! read more

Acres Away Winery is such a charming spot nestled between Fort Wayne and Angola--perfect if you're visiting Trine University or spending time at Pokagon State Park. It still amazes me that Indiana has so many wineries. Hartland Winery is celebrating it's 5 Year Birthday. Hartland is a local small batch winery in northeast Indiana. It's small but excellent. They grow a lot of their own grapes. The wine staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Great tasting dry red wines. Actually the best we had the entire weekend visiting local wineries in Indiana. I highly recommend the Marquette if you like dry reds. It was my favorite. A lovely location, nice people, very good wines = a perfect start to our weekend! read more

So it's a nice little place with decent wine. As it was well past lunch we decided to order a BLT. Apparently the had to bake the, grow the lettuce, and butcher the hog. This one you really have to want to go to in order to find it. It is located out in the country. They are charging for their tastings like many others do now. First three were free and then it goes up to a dollar a tasting. The dollar size is not any larger than the free ones. They do sell food there and it looked pretty good. You can eat outside or inside, but no one less than 21 is allowed inside and they card EVERYBODY. I get it. It is their liquor license that is on the line anytime they serve someone less than 21. And you never know, there might be a progeria patient who is also an excise police person. So they avoid the fights, by making everyone show ID. (We had ours ready) However this is INDIANA for God's sake. We like to think we have a little more common sense, so when you offend a 65 year old+ Hoosier, you run the risk that they will not be back. read more

Sadly, we had a disappointing experience tonight at this winery, which we just love. As always, the wine is fantastic. But the kitchen stopped serving food more than an hour before closing. Not sure why, but that left a lot of wine drinkers without carb replacements at all. With no other options like pretzels or chips, people were really disappointed. We were ready to drop another $20 on a pizza... very short-sighted by the kitchen staff. read more

This place has friendly staff, good wine, and good food too. Wood fired pizzas are great and the wine slushies are tasty too. It's a little pricey for me but a nice place for a date night or listening to live music. The only thing I didn't like was that kids aren't allowed so we had to leave our kid at home. Although it is not a large facility, it does have seasonal outdoor seating. However, everything else compensates for it. The facility is spotless. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. If you decide to stay after tasting, rinse glasses in between tastings and give new glasses. There are also games for you and your friends to play while you are hanging out!! A small quaint building. Less than 50 ppl cleared to be in the building. Small patio that I didn't see any furniture on. We had generous pours on our tasting, and we loved the bottle designs. We noticed that there were a few games so when your enjoying your glass of wine you could play some games. Very nice, we will be back. read more

Wasn't a fan of their wines. Only found one wine that was decent. It's a newer winery so their wines don't have much body to them yet. They do have nice live music though. Their pourings are very meager as well. I'm from Indiana but live in California so i'm used to much better wine and much generous pours so I guess I would be a tougher critic than the average person. read more

I have been here three times in the last two years. I love the ambiance and the wines are pretty good. I only had a problem when the friendly tasting room gentleman started to pour my last tasting from a TRUMP-head pourer. I have seen these types of pewter-styled pourers before and even own one in the shape of a moose. I immediately stopped the young man and asked him nicely to remove it from the bottle...which he graciously did before he poured our tastings. We continued to enjoy a bottle afterward and even played Corn Hole with some folks on the patio. Upon checkout, I asked the lady/owner why they would use a pourer like that...risking turning off a lot of people. She said, "I guess it depends on how you look at it?!" That's fair. read more

I've been to a lot of wineries in my life but this is by far my favorite! We live in Ohio but my husband works at a company that has an office in Kendallville, so sometimes when he's there he gets some down time to explore, and luckily he found this gem! He figured I would like it and he was right. Its absolutely adorable, and I love how it's decorated. It's literally on a country road in the middle of a cornfield. I hate stuffy pretentious wineries and this is the exact opposite! Everyone here is so friendly and I love the laid back vibe. On to the wine, I really haven't had many that I don't love. Morning Glow, Steuben, Edelweiss and County Fair are my favorites. They have a summer watermelon wine called Picnic Punch that tastes just like a jolly rancher! Every time we go we come back with at least a case of their wine. The wine slushies are delicious and they always switch up the flavors which is nice. They have a patio outside for when the weather is decent and jewelry and other items to purchase inside. If you're in the area you have to stop and check it out. It's absolutely worth the 3 hour drive for us! read more

# Roses are red so is my Wine # refill my glass and I will be just fine...... that's what one of the staff members quoted me ( on behalf of me ) while she was introducing me to one of there red wines.. A small barn with accommodation of about 50 people inside it. It's absolutely cute little barn nicely decorated with small games kept in and around the place to play with your partners while having a sip of wine . This winery is located on the country road in between the grape vines and cornfield. The tasting are free and the bottles are smartly designed... There varieties are ever changing and delicious and also they run impressive special flavors periodically so do not forget to check on their website or Facebook page... Although we bought a bottle to share with chips and crackers and also bought 2 bottles namely " hillside blush ( a semi-sweet) " lacrescent ( dry) " wines to go for my wine shelves. They had great music playing outside on their patio and providing a good food service. Would recommend to get your own beach chairs or patio chairs as there is less seating arrangements especially when you are visiting during weekends when the place is just hopping with visitors who are enjoying the atmosphere, laughing and talking. Tried Hartland for the first time this weekend. I sampled 9 wines and 2 slushies and found myself loving all but 2 of them. The atmosphere is fun however, I gave a 4 star bc of the seating. We had no problem finding a seat but we were there at a non busy time. In the winter, it would be hard to sit inside as they only have a few tables. They had great music by John Durnell and super friendly staff! We had a fun relaxing time and will be back! read more
