I visited this place after my brother brought up the place a few weeks ago. Oh yeah, that's right, that place was there since I was a kid (a long time ago). Being so out of the way, and looking so basic, I was hoping for a cheap lunch.
And no, there's no "... but I was wrong..." coming. It's not super-cheap, but not unreasonable. I ordered a stir-fried bitter melon and beef, served with white rice. It was the best way to compare with Tim's Barbecue Kitchen nearby, since that's what I often order.
Taste-wise, it was better (probably because the chef yelled out and asked if I wanted a pinch of fresh chili, which I accepted. Portion-wise, better. At $9, with a can of drink, it was also economically better than Tim's BBQ, who charge $10 but give you a small bowl of corn soup.
I was hoping it could cost around 50c to $1 cheaper, but it's not a bad deal. read more
