He knows his stuff too, he will sit down and explain to you what needs to be done and worked on and has a plan set! When I have been to other places in the past, they have never once asked me truly why I am there (is it because I was in a car wreck? Sports injury? Work injury? Etc). He gets down to the nitty gritty and asks questions, answers any questions you might have. Once you're on the table and he begins it's like all the stress you just had all disappeared! I will tell him what is hurting me at the current time and he'll focus on that spot and work out any kinks / knots. I never once have felt uncomfortable with him (I have felt uncomfortable with massage therapists in the past...even women), he will talk to you if you want to talk or he'll be quiet if you want to just be in chill mode. I highly recommend Shaun to any & everybody! I will continue to go to him, because since I have I can tell a difference in the spots where I have been hurting. I highly suggest you go to him too!

I was in a bicycle accident three weeks ago, and have been dealing with several areas of really tight and achy muscles. Shaun came recommended for his therapeutic massage, and boy, did he provide relief! He traveled to my house, which was super convenient, and set up his table in my living room. I got to put on my own music, which really helped me relax and enjoy the experience. He was very thorough in asking about my condition and what I wanted to get out of the massage, and he patiently answered my questions before I even got on the table. From the first moment his hands made contact, I knew it was going to be a good session. He made sure he was using as much pressure as I wanted (I wanted a lot) and that nothing was hurting. I felt the tension release out of my body as he went over each area, like he was opening pressure valves along the way. He could tell, just by feeling, exactly what needed attention, and the whole time I was either saying out loud or thinking, "Ahh, yeah, thaat is the spot." The best part is that a day later, I still feel loosened up, so I know it wasn't just a feels-good-while-you're-getting-it massage. Shaun's understanding of anatomy is extensive, and his explanations of how certain parts of my body were affecting others really helped me understand my issues, and how I could work on them on my own (he demonstrated stretches, sleep positions, etc.) I feel like I got so much more than just a massage, and will definitely be scheduling regular sessions with him and his magic hands. I can't recommend him enough.

When you get upstairs, such an easy-going, clean and relaxing environment, without the stress of hearing conversations in massage rooms next door or waiting in the room looking up each time a massage therapist walks out. It's one-on-one in his apartment and it's setup very comfortably. Now let's talk about Christopher - the nicest person you'll ever meet and you just want to be friends and hang out all the time. He's very adaptive to whether you want a quiet time to catch up on a nap, which I did last time, or a conversation about speakeasies that distracts from some of the pain of releasing tight muscles. Before he starts, he's a good listener and asks insightful questions to provide maximum relief. Once you're on the table, he's also very perceptive to what areas need more attention. He's kind, effective and truly cares to make sure his client has had a productive massage session. He doesn't rush you out but rather spends a few minutes on feedback to make sure you feel good. So easily a five-star experience!

I am a bit of a massage snob but honestly it's bananas to me that I couldn't seem to find anyone in the entire Austin area that seemed to know what they were doing- and I tried them all. Spas , private practice, sport masseuse physical therapy massage therapist you name it. Enter Chris. He knows the anatomy of your body so he is a true healer. I can't stress how important it is for a massage therapist to know anatomy. My tendinitis and tennis elbow always flares up throughout the year. I've had to go to acupuncture in the past but Chris has changed that! Now I just have to see him for a few sessions and it's gone! It's amazing. When I told Chris of my struggles with finding someone good he explained to me that in Texas massage therapist / masseuse only have to get HALF of the amount of hours needed to get licensed that people in New York need! Which explains a lot ! His setup is in his apartment ( which is common in NYC so it didn't bother me ) but for anyone wondering if that's sketch- it's not ! It just allows his pricing to stay competitive. Honestly - you will not be disappointed with a massage from Chris. The best of the best of the best. 100000000000 stars !!!

Within a minute of my first massage with him, my inner voice clearly shouted 'Yay!' because his hands were not just doing but reading, feeling, really giving his attention to my particular musculature. I find this approach to be the hallmark of excellent bodywork, and yet not all therapists seem to work this way. Add to this, I was in that complicated place of wanting deep tissue but feeling extra-sensitive. In this state, anything too light can feel ineffective, while any type of depth can easily hurt. Tony managed this beautifully by gently but progressively working his way into those deeper layers, getting at the root of my sore spots with no resistance or pain on my part. It's that trust again.
