From the moment we entered to the moment we left there was an "off vibe" in the store almost like we were intruding and not welcome. It was super uncomfortable and disappointing and definitely not what is represented on social media!

I absolutely love this boutique! The vibe is so New York!…read more We stumbled into this place after a google search on our recent trip to New York. My future sister wanted to look for prom dresses on the whim and we found ourselves in this FABULOUS store! Buyer beware, it's a workout to get to this space! You have to climb up 3 flights of stairs. That is not a big deal though, just thought I would share as a heads up. They have dresses to fit everyone's taste. Whether you want a classic, trendy, bold, or Beyoncé inspired dresses, they have it. My future sister enjoyed trying on all the dresses. It was as if she was in a romantic movie makeover montage scene. The space is cute, totally Instagramable, and all the employees were helpful and friendly! Thank you B&B Boutique you made prom dress shopping effortless!

If you're thinking about shopping here, do yourself a favor and run the other way. BB Couture is a prime example of how not to run a business, and I can't believe they're still in operation. Save your money and sanity for a boutique that actually values its customers!

Yes, that Alexander McQueen jacket is half off but I'm still not going to be able to afford it at $300, no matter how I try to talk myself into thinking that $300 for a jacket is TOTALLY reasonable and this is a long-term investment and no more Forever 21 shit that falls apart the second time I put an arm in it. Plus if I wanted to elbow and be elbowed for one tiny piece of ground to stand on, I'd just stand in the middle of the 6 train at rush hour. But $29 for Free People dresses?! And right smack in the middle of Chelsea market, next to a bakery and some wine store, otherwise known as The Most Beautiful Place on Earth? Yes ma'am! Some miscellaneous rambles: 1. I like having a general idea of what I want to buy before heading over but then whenever I see a beautifully crafted grey t-shirt that I have a million of already, my mind goes out the window. I went today with the intention of buying a distressed denim jacket and ONLY a distressed denim jacket. And then I came out with a dress. 2. The communal dressing room is kind of hilarious once you get over whipping off your clothes in front of a crowd of strangers and realize that seriously no one is paying attention to your cellulite. Except for the seventeen-year-old Russian model preening in the corner. She's totally snickering. The people-watching is fantastic, from the European tourists striking a pose in Eva Franco jungle print dresses to the harried mom carrying armloads of clothes for her sulky daughter to loudly reject over and over again. I will say that the dressing room here is much, MUCH better than the one in 260 Fifth Avenue, where it's basically a section of the room, not cordoned or roped off, where you take off your shirt and realize that the sleazy old guy to your left is batting bedroom eyes at you and the girl on your right is butt naked. 3. The selection was still good, despite being the fourth day of the sale. Not sure how much restocking they do but the Free People stands were looking a tad barren (thanks no doubt to the $30 and under clothing) and the jeggings were untouched.

People have misconceptions about consignment shops mainly because most consignment shops sell either extremely old or uncared for items just because they have a 'label'. However, at Michael's they really sell either gently pre-loved or almost new like condition designer items at the fraction of the cost. Some of items still have in-store tags attached or better yet are still in store for its entire retail price! You can also tell by their products that the relationship Tammy has with both her buyers and cosigners. Its class all the way from the floor to ceiling. I also can't gush enough about the employees at this store either. They were one of the most kind, honest and relaxed sales associates ever. Not stuffy and stand-offish like the ones few stores down that I won't mention. And while Mom and I purchased few goodies from SOHO, 5th and others, we had so much blast at Michaels that we will be adding this spot to our must go list on our annual NYC shopping trip. Aside from their brick and mortar, I also just purchased a pair of boots from their online shop. Not only were they fabulous, it was packaged nicely and shipping was free and fast. Hope to shop more from their site while not in NYC. Great job Michael's!

Call it a Second-Hand boutique, or maybe a Consignment Shop, but definitely not a thrift store…read more This is the only "thrift store" that I've been able to stand in without feeling nauseous. I usually find them to be cluttered and dirty. This was quite the opposite. The Thrifty Hig was set up like a high end boutique. Between the window displays, the mannequins and the overall setup, I did not realize this was a second hand store until talking with the sales associate. This place had a lot of name brand and vintage women's clothing and accessories. And when I say name brand, I'm talking higher end expensive brands. So if you are searching for those $10-20 dresses or business suits this is not necessarily the place for you, but you might find a $500 dress for $100. You can find some bargains, but like I said this is not what you normally think of as a "thrift" store. I wish there was a larger men's section. My friend found several items, but I found nothing for myself personally. Another great thing about this place is that they donate proceeds to charity, specifically Hearts of Gold which helps homeless mothers and their children. I know people shop "thrift" stores for extreme bargains, but Before complaining that this place is pricey, think about where your money is going and the people it's helping! Besides, it's still cheaper than most retail stores.
