Sarian Recycling was very professional and quick. However it always seems to look busy full of people but luckily when I was there, there was hardly anyone there so it went by quick. If it's your first time here just ask the employees where the material you want to recycle goes. I was recycling water bottles and it filled one full cylinder to the rim which totaled up to about to $10. Parking is also a little tricky to find. Yelp Challenge 2016 - 71/116. I frequent this place, and come here whenever the beer bottles, wine bottles and Coke Zero cans threaten to take over my kitchen. The owner is very nice and helpful. The staff doesn't talk much, but they will help you sort your recyclables to make things go faster. Use a different basket or plastic trash can for your plastics, glass and cans. They are open until 5 pm on weekdays and on Saturdays. Mornings are busiest and street parking is limited, so come after 12 noon for a faster in and out experience. Watch out for occasional broken glass in the street. I've been guilty of creating this hazard when some beer bottles rolled out of my hatchback. The staff here do sweep and clean up broken glass, but do watch your step as you exit your car. Bonus: there's a marijuana dispensary next door... Do not miss their "display" of glass liquor bottle "art" behind the desk. There are empty glass boots and shoes and pistols and skulls and just gigantic empty bottles that used to hold a lot of booze. I have to remember to take a picture for y'all the next time I go. visited 9/24/2016 We usually go to the recycle place near Vons, but he was having an issue. Apparently his bin wasn't working properly and he had all these bottles which needed to be done. The last thing I wanted to do was return home with the three bags of bottles my daughter already packed up into my car! I checked on yelp if there was any other recycling place close to Vons and low and behold I found this place!! He wasn't busy. Only street parking. Easy to miss. Not great looking, but the job was done! Unlike the other recycling place, this guy had two helpers. One of the guys helped by daughter put her bottles into the containers. I hated the fact that there were so many bees, but we just dealt with it. He gave her her money on the spot. We were done with this chore!! read more

Believe me when I say this, when we left our plastics in a weighing container unattended to retrieve more recyclables from the car...one of the workers took our plastics and put it in their storage bins secretly without calculating weight and kept quiet...when we came back we noticed it missing and questioned it's whereabouts and they played it off as of nothing never happened! Well they finally got rid of the Vons La Crescenta recycling station and these guys were my closest option. I took my 6 bags of recycling and 2 workers helped me separate the plastic, cans and bottles. I got $22 and cleaned up the side yard, yippee! read more

I pulled up to the curb, removed two large boxes filled with 80 or so clean crushed Canada Dry 2-liter bottles with caps, and I was told to dump them in a large blue can. The weight was plainly displayed, and I received more cash than I expected with a smile and a thank you from the proprietor, all within five minutes. I don't trust a place that does not have the (supposed) weights of the plastic baskets on them. The only one that did was marked 1.2 lbs, felt like less than a quarter pound hamburger when I picked it up. I would give them 5 starts - which they absolutely deserve, but the parking situation, which is beyond their control, is available curbside only, and right in front; and I found it difficult. Other than that, the helpers were so courteous, fast and helpful; the place was buzzing with business; and, my order was weighed as soon as it was loaded in the bins (fast); and I was done and gone quickly. This place is run by complete conmen. They rip you off completely. I know within a couple of dollars exactly how much I should get for the amount I bring in. I know for a fact that they shorted me at least $15-$20. They don't tell you how much for each different type of container is that they weigh, they don't tare out the scale with the container, and they write the amounts down in a foreign language so you don't know what's going on for sure. I've been recycling my stuff for a lot of years, I know precisely what I get almost every time. Unless you like getting ripped off, run in the opposite direction of this filthy dump. I'm going to report them to the Dept of Weights and Measures. read more

I thought I'd try out Sarian's when Vons just got too busy and hot! 2 men helped me take out all my bottles from my car and then helped put them into the tubs, then I received approx $2 more than I would have received at Vons. I highly recommend this place , it took me literally 9 mins from start to finish. I will definitely return. read more

We've lived in Montrose for 11 years and have always taken our bottles to the recycle certer behind Vons to mixed results. We've had lovely service (years ago) and very unhelpful service. Trying Sarian for the first time because the other center is closed on Thursdays (and Tuesdays), even though this is a few miles further it was so worth the trip. They couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They take everything, even non-refundunable plastics.. we just pulled up to the curb, they brought the pails to us, help us load them, we were in and out in minutes. The proprietor was friendly and kind. I will travel the distance for this excellent service. read more

I've been here on multiple occasions since the Recycling center by Albertsons closed down. The workers are always sweet enough to help me take my bottles in and always help me when I'm sorting the bottles out. They can be packed right before closing, but they do a good job of trying to get you in and out of there. It's location can be easy to miss if your not paying attention but other than that, they are honestly really great. At Albertson's i had issues with the workers giving attitude when we'd try to do our recycling, and there's none of that at this location. The guys are very respectful and really helpful! read more

Never in my life went in and out of a recycler faster than today! Not much parking, so I think everyone goes curbside. Five sacks and finished in less than five minutes. Unbelievable. Actually did not know Sarian existed. Up to now it required me to make trips out to Monrovia. But looked at the midday traffic and decided to see who might be closer.
