The restaurant is beautiful, we will give them that. However, between the table of 4 young women,…read moreseated in the middle of restaurant, walking around doing selfies, photos / videos, with exterior bright lights, showing no regard for the dining experience of the other patrons and the rodent that was running around the restaurant (we noticed after our food was eaten) which was also witnessed by two other men (who subsequently left the establishment without ordering), we would not recommend this restaurant. Important to note, we did privately reach out to the restaurant to give them the opportunity to respond and the Restaurant Manager gave a very nice, apologetic response and offered to credit our meal back. When we did not receive the credit, we politely followed up (over the last two months) and they have not responded further.

They had a server fully dedicated to us and I'm telling you he was awesome ..ask for Mehfil..best server. Food was super good. We were a party of 7 and must've ordered 20 items from the menu..which is reasonably priced by the way. The food was amazing and very authentic. Everything was made to order and was super hot. I have to let you know...the bread were great but the Lachcha Pronta was my favorite bread. The service was quick as well and we left fully satisfied. Drinks are also amazing ..the coconut drink is served straight in a baby coconut using the water from the coconut. Also had a Cobra Malabar Beer. kulfi dessert was excellent. If I could give this place 6 stars, I would.

This is my favorite take-away in London…read more While Shahanshah has some indoor seating, its very basic canteen style and is build for praticality not style and ambience. To my knowledge, there are actually three Shahanshah's in Southall/Ealing, but this one specialises in vegetarian cuisine and sweets. It's also the closest to the Mrs's. You can't get home delivery, you have to rock up in person. It also closes at 8pm. It's also always busy, queues and queues of locals all lining up just before closing wanting their food. But, it is truly the most amazing food. Simple, fresh, moreish food all at really reasonable/cheap prices. 40p a Samosa. I've never been disappointing, and we've had a fair few meals from here. Nothing's ever come out greasy or cold or stodgy or limp. Well, with the invention of JustEat and all those convinience sites to make the process of getting your regular Indian to your door without any delay or hassle, why leave the house and make the journey? Because, to paraphrase a well known female product ad.... It's worth it.

Sorry this keyboard does not have the POUND SIGN. For old times three of us ate here and had samosas and Aloo Chaat with two of us having Desi Chai (Chai Tea Latte) and me a can of Rubicon soft drink and all under a tenner! The Rubicon is still selling strong in this fine establishment. The samosas are freshley prepared in the back. It is rude when old school friends get together and not over order! We had to have the Obligatory extra chutney. You cannot go wrong. Decor is basic. The amazing aromas of indian sweets (Muthai) and the other currys do not disappoint. All the food here is vegetarian. Samosas and Muthai have been going strong here for over 20 years. They make all the Indian Punjabi comfort food and makes you feel good after eating. However not great for the waistline. You know this place is great when all the locals are still coming here and ordering by the Bucket load. Highly recommended experience and good vegetarian Punjabi food.

I've always loved Indian food and I've heard the best Indian food in London is in Southall. Well,…read morewhat I heard was right. Short Story: Amazing Indian food, Amazing Service, Amazing Price. ------------------------------------------------------------ FOOD: Chicken Tikka Starter: 5/5, Very authentic and the chicken was soft. There was a lot of flavor, especially paired with the mint chutney on the side. I was really in the mood for chicken so it definitely hit the spot. Shahi Paneer: 5/5, In my opinion this was the best dish that we tried. The sauce itself was pretty mild flavored, definitely not spicy. It leaned more towards the slightly sweet side. The paneer was really tasty and soft. Definitely recommend this dish. Chicken Tikka Masala: 5/5, There was a good amount of chicken in the curry. The chicken was soft and easy to break apart with the naan, and the sauce was slightly spicy. It wasn't very spicy, but it had a good amount of flavor. Overall, excellent dish and I would also recommend. Even though this was a more popularized dish, it still had an authentic feel. Lamb Madras: 3/5, This one was overall pretty good. I think I just wasn't in the mood for lamb and this one really gives a lamb taste overall. The curry was definitely spicy, so I would only get it if you have a good spice tolerance. It was a well made dish, so it might not be deserving of the lower rating, but it just wasn't for me at the time. Also give a good amount of lamb pieces. Mango Lassi: 5/5, This is literally the first time I've ever had mango lassi that I've liked. It tasted very fresh and had perfect proportions. Definitely definitely get this, even if youve never tried mango lassi before. I'm 100% getting this when I go back again. Gulab Jamun: 5/5, Another perfect dish. It wasn't overwhelmingly sweet, and had the perfect amount of syrup to go with it. I got it with the ice cream, which was a really good pairing. It tasted very fresh and homemade. This is the only item that was slightly expensive, but I would say it is definitely worth it! Roti: 5/5, I usually don't like Roti, but this one was really good. Surprisingly delicious, even though it's the healthy alternative to naan. Naan: 5/5, Naan is always really good and it was good here too! Soft and delicious, and well priced. ------------------------------------------------------------ PRICES: Chicken Tikka Starter: 5.95 Pounds Shahi Paneer: 5.95 Pounds Chicken Tikka Masala: 6.90 Pounds Lamb Madras: 6.90 Pounds Mango Lassi: 2.40 Pounds Gulab Jamun: 2.25 Pounds Naan: 1.25 Pounds Roti: 1.00 Pounds Very moderate prices for Indian food in the area. Range per person: 12-15 Pounds. ------------------------------------------------------------ SERVICE: 5/5, This is really where the restaurant shone from any other I've been to. The owner, Raj, was the sweetest most genuine owner I've ever met. He talked to us for an hour after our meal ended about his life and his dreams. He really cares about his restaurant and it showed with the quality of the food. All the food was quick and there was no wait, but I hear that Saturdays are super packed so show up early! Apparently on Saturdays they do cultural events and parties, so I'm gonna be back! ------------------------------------------------------------ AMBIANCE: 5/5, Good for kids. It definitely has a restaurant feel, gives a very cultural vibe. Very fun to be in, but definitely casual, not too fancy. Could be used for a casual date though. ------------------------------------------------------------ OVERALL: I would 100% recommend if you're in the mood for some authentic Indian food!

Visited Moti Mahal over the past month whilst out shopping on the Broadway. It was a pleasant…read moresurprise. The food: Delicious vada pav for £1.....yes it really is just £1!! Crispy butter-ey bun with a well seasoned filling topped with a lovely chutney. One of the best vada pavs I've had. I would admit that I am a chilli paneer snob, and this chilli paneer is one I would definitely go back for. A little on the spicy side, but it does have the word "chilli" in the name. I would've liked the paneer cubes to be cut into smaller pieces. The one thing I wasn't impressed with the meal was the butter chicken. I found that the portion was way too small for as a main dish. The flavour was okayish. The garlic and chilli naan was good, a little on the crispy side. The chai is spicy and warm, in a good way. The service: Unfortunately, the service is what lets this place down. The staff are not welcoming or attentive, but I guess I am used to this kind of service in Southall. However, there is one gentleman here who was great, I believe he is one of the owners. He was personable and humorous. I would've knocked two stars off if it wasn't for this guy. The place: The restaurant has definitely been renovated since the last Yelp photos that have been posted! The wall decor is cool and modern. Tables and cutlery seemed clean, especially for Southall standards. Will be returning when I'm feeling peckish after a Southall shopping spree!

Moti had some guys out front cooking up fried items, but it did seem they had a decent indoor area as well, and I felt like having a sit-down lunch. Inside, there's a giant counter filled with Indian sweets, and a dining area with seating for 30+ (and I would find out - an additional upstairs area with even more seats). The scene is very casual... no tablecloths nor ornate settings. I walked up to the counter and ordered. The owner(?) was super friendly and jovial, proclaiming the authenticity of his Punjab food. I knew exactly what I wanted, chicken curry (6.50), and was invited to sit. I did look over the rest of the menu and it was giant... everything from 3.00 tikka rolls to about 100 other dishes, with only a few over 10.00. There was a constant stream of locals, mostly families, enjoying the fare. My curry arrived and it was a nice sized portion and bursting with flavor. Not greasy and not thin. In fact, the sauce was hearty and the chicken nicely cooked. It also was hotly spiced, but not overwhelming. Thankfully they had delivered a pitcher of water to help wash things down. That reminds me... I don't think they sell booze and don't know their policy about BYO. Overall, even though it's a no-frills place, I liked the staff and the food. It's not a place for a formal/special meal, but it works just fine if you want some good Indian grub nicely priced.
