I've taken multiple items here to get tailor and she has never once been able to tailor any of them

Called to make an appointment, said she could take me on the following Monday. Asked if she needed my info. Said no, just come at 10:15. Showed up at 10:05, waited until 10::25, tried to call several times, got voicemail, knocked on the door several times, no answer. Business hours are listed as 10-12 and 3-6. read more

I brought in a bridesmaids dress a week and a half before the wedding and Sara took the short timeline in stride and was able to alter in a week. Sara is quirky, but great at what she does. Although she is a little pricier than some places around town, I felt comfortable leaving my dress with someone who has been in business for so many years. She even reinforced my zipper before I left because she felt it wasn't properly made. She definitely went a step above for me. I will be bringing additional clothing here in the future. read more

Really shocked how rude this place was! I walked in and the lady didn't even greet me and asked what is the date I need it by (not even asking what I need) without looking up at me. I told her and she scoffed immeaditley. I mentioned how I tried calling a few times last week and didn't know if I needed an appt. She quickly said her phone was down and not working and started telling me her issues with the company. I told her I don't need to bring it here I could go elsewhere if she was that busy. She insisted on seeing the dress and asked what I needed done. I told her I just needed it hemmed and she quickly said "honey, it's not JUST a hem" and as she looked at the dress loudly said "THREE layers!?? This is going to be AT LEAST $125 and I only take cash." I very quickly said forget it and left. The customer service here was terrible and I would never go back with the way I was talked to and treated. read more

Awful experience. She was unbelievably expensive, very rude, and judge mental. She made some terrible comments to me both in person and over the phone. If it wasn't so close to the event, I would have taken my dress elsewhere and I will NEVER be returning here again. I do not recommend this place to anyone! read more

I'm a college student so I rarely need tailoring services, but I will be attending Lollapalooza Friday and Saturday so I needed a blouse altered. Today is Wednesday so time was very limited, but Sara was SO helpful. She was a bit apprehensive about how the alterations would turn out given the type of blouse it was, but she was still very willing to help! This review is about an experience a few years ago, but I never did the review. Took my daughter to have her bridesmaid dress for her sister's wedding altered. It was only three days before the wedding, because she was in the Army and could not come home any sooner. Sara said no problem, she could have it done. The day before the wedding, at after 5 o'clock, we realized we never picked it up! I called, and of course, they were closed. I left a desperate message and within 20 minutes, she called me back and said she had gone home, but would come back so I could get the dress. Customer service doesn't get any better than this! And the dress fit her beautifully!! Now, that daughter is on her way to Sara's to have HER daughter's flower girl dress altered for my granddaughter's wedding! read more

She was very rude, and she told me how she hates the type of dress I have and said she is never going to do them again. She is very expensive I asked some of my friends how much alterations cost from them and they had a lot more done than I did and mine cost way more. So I went in to get the belt on my spring coat shortened...I felt it was ridiculously long..like they had taken a belt from a coat 3 sizes bigger and stuck it on my coat..I bought it from Macy's online and I'm very bad about taking things back that don't fit right. I would still wear the coat because IT fit perfectly and was a great color. I would just tie this loooooong belt...have driven by Sara's a thousand times since moving to Tinley Park, but never went in. Figured today was the day...God bless her...she is SO nice!!! She explained the belt is made to be tied and it's supposed to be that long..she showed me how to tie it so it looks right...she and I are in the same age bracket so it's not like I'm NEW at clothing...she coud have shortened the belt and made some money..but instead very patiently explained what I was doing wrong...she deserves 5 stars for her kindness!!! i will definitely be going to her from now on....Signed, a Clueless Wonder LOL read more

Horrible. She was annoyed from the moment I walked in and no other customers were there. Before even seeing my garments was telling why my requests weren't possible. Told me my alterations weren't possible. Went somewhere else who did the work without any issues and both pieces turned out perfect. She came across as not being able to do anything other than a hem. My last experience was not so good. It seemed like she either didn't know how to do my dress or she just did not want to. She told me what I wanted couldn't be done so I went to someone else and it's a simple fix. She was rude to my friends that came in and my mother. I do not recommend. read more

All our alterations are taken to Sara. She's knowledgeable and has creative solutions to challenging alteration problems. And this is all she does. A dry cleaner's location has alterations as a secondary service, and I'm not always confident in their tailoring experience. Sara's turnaround time is also reasonable. read more

I came to Sarah's alterations about a week and a half before New Year's Eve. I had a dress from several years ago that I wanted to have shortened. I wasn't sure if it was even possible to do since the dress had a very intricate beaded overlay a top on the actual dress plus a very beaded bodice. Sara was great she not only told me it could be done but that to shorten the overlay would be very expensive. After we consulted we settled on shortening the dress and keeping the overlay, and fixing any beaded pieces on the bodice and overlay that were loose. It was a lot of work but she got it done on time and it looked beautiful. Her price was very reasonable and I have a beautiful brand-new version of an old dress. I got five complements that night from other partygoers downtown! I felt beautiful and will definitely use her in the future if I need any alterations on anything done! She was extremely professional and easy to deal with. I highly recommend her services. read more
