I chose to leave and find a new treatment center. I was blessed to find Dr. Xavier at Scripps in San Diego who was referred by a friend. She reached out within days, knew my history, was kind, compassionate, and willing to help. She is such a pleasure to meet with and always thorough in explaining what is happening; providing detail in terms we can understand. She responds to my emails the same day! She doesn't have her support staff reach out unless it's a basic question, like med refill. A cancer journey is horrid, and it takes an amazing doctor to make it a pleasant in knowing that your doctor is doing all she can to help and at the same time allowing you to have a voice in the decision process. After one office…read morevisit, I realized that I needed to ask her a simple question, one that would take under a minute to answer. I called her office, explained my question, and asked to speak with her, or for someone to ask her my question and tell me what she said. She refused to do this, and instructed the person I was speaking with to tell me to make another appointment. In all the time I was treated by D. Wallach, not once did I ever ask her to speak with me on the phone or did I ever call her. I thought what she did was inappropriate, uncaring and unprofessional. Also exploitive; she probably wanted to collect another office visit fee. The next time I saw her, I had a UT infection. I have been treated for this common infection before. She obviously didn't know how to treat this kind of infection. She looked what to do up on her cell phone, and prescribed Bactracin. I told her that I did not believe that Bactracin was the appropriate antibiotic for a UT infection. She told me it would work. It didn't, and my condition worsened, I had two problems: severe pain and the risk of a kidney infection (could be very serious). I called my primary doctor, and he prescribed Cipro or Keflex, and in a couple of days I was fine. Bottom line, she lacked experience with treating a garden variety, common infection, and did as little as possible, either because she couldn't be bothered and did not care about a patient, and/or she wanted to create a billable event.

It is rare I will even visit a physician who is under 35 years of ago, Ryan Grover is a no hesitation guy. As a young adult I trained under great psychology and psychotherapy people in Palo Alto CA. Later I went thru a 3 year training under a psychiatrist who ran the USA gov't reasearch using psychedelic drugs to treat schizophrenics and alcoholics. That was made illegal so it was shut down. Oopps, now they started that up again because 50 years later they figured out those drugs are useful tools we cannot afford to discard. At CA protons where Ryan used to work Carl Rossi prescribed Lupron treatment for me. I made the biggest mistake of my life listening to Rossi (at this moment I am keeping this civil regarding Rossi. I may have permanent brain damage from Rossi. It has been known for a long time that Lupron can cause brain damage. Rossi, forgot to mention that. What does that make him?
