I had been referred to Dr. Wallach and she treated me for a couple of years. After one office visit, I realized that I needed to ask her a simple question, one that would take under a minute to answer. I called her office, explained my question, and asked to speak with her, or for someone to ask her my question and tell me what she said. She refused to do this, and instructed the person I was speaking with to tell me to make another appointment.
In all the time I was treated by D. Wallach, not once did I ever ask her to speak with me on the phone or did I ever call her.
I thought what she did was inappropriate, uncaring and unprofessional. Also exploitive; she probably wanted to collect another office visit fee.
The next time I saw her, I had a UT infection. I have been treated for this common infection before. She obviously didn't know how to treat this kind of infection. She looked what to do up on her cell phone, and prescribed Bactracin. I told her that I did not believe that Bactracin was the appropriate antibiotic for a UT infection. She told me it would work. It didn't, and my condition worsened, I had two problems: severe pain and the risk of a kidney infection (could be very serious). I called my primary doctor, and he prescribed Cipro or Keflex, and in a couple of days I was fine.
Bottom line, she lacked experience with treating a garden variety, common infection, and did as little as possible, either because she couldn't be bothered and did not care about a patient, and/or she wanted to create a billable event. read more
