My boyfriend and I had an excellent experience! We were greeted and seated very quickly. The miso soup tasted great. I got the Spicy Salmon Roll and he got the Spicy Crab Roll. My salmon roll was a pretty spicy, but it was very good! It was a little "warm" - but I like my sushi ice cold. He liked his crab roll. Then we got our salads - they too were very tasty. Then our entrees came - he ordered Salmon Teriyaki and I ordered Chicken Teriyaki. I accidentally ended up with Beef Teriyaki, but it was still very tasty - as was the Salmon. The lady serving us was very apologetic about the mistake and more than made it right on our check. We will definitely be returning for the great food, great service, and great people! My favorite sushi stop. My husband and I come in maybe once a month for our sushi fix. Most of the time we can walk right in and be seated. The sushi is always fresh and tasty, and the service is always great. The owner will come over and say hello and always remembers us when we visit, very sweet. Definitely worth a visit. read more

The dinner was delicious spiced right but really could have used their namesake, but unfortunately they don't have adult beverages. Really enjoyed the sushi. We had take out so the dinners didn't seem as good I think because we weren't there in the atmosphere to enjoy. We will eat in next time. My boyfriend and I have gone here for almost a year and have never been disappointed. Today with a night without our kids, we checked and saw they were open for takeout. Living 40 minutes away and knowing we wouldn't be able to enjoy the food there, we still made the trip. Some of the best Japanese food that I've had. I have tried Bulgogi Bento Box and Beef Teriyaki and these were both excellent. Even though it does look like much, there is enough food. The experience was SUPERB! The biggest plus for me is their menu presentation. I love Japanese food but don't eat raw fish, so no sushi with uncooked fish. Well well well...Sapporo is the first restaurant where their sushi menu page was separated by cooked fish vs uncooked. How clever! As someone who is half Japanese and was born in Tokyo, I can say I know a bit about what good sushi is. And that is what I had at Sapporo, so this review is strictly about my raw fish experience there. I went there for lunch yesterday. It was past the lunch crowd time, so I sat in the dining room by myself, but this didn't bother me because the waitress was very nice(her name is Nikki and she is one of the owners.) She greeted me quickly and asked me what I wanted to drink. I told her tea and asked if it was bagged tea or loose. She said loose; that was my first hurrah there. Who in Asia drinks teabag tea? No one! Nikki brought me my tea and it was really excellent Japanese tea and I felt I had been transported back to the country of my birth. There's something about really good Japanese green tea that other green teas don't match. Nikki also brought me a glass of water with a generous slice of lemon. I ordered the sushi/sashimi lunch special. It had tuna, salmon, and I think flounder sashimi, along with four-five pieces and a tuna roll. The sashimi rested on a backdrop of shiso (which I love!) and rolled, shaved daikon (radish.) It looked and smelled fresh, and the portions were great. The fish was as good as it looked, and the miso soup tasted the way it was supposed to. It didn't have tiny pieces of tofu in it that had been chopped up hours earlier or dried out scallions in it either. As it is done in Japan, I asked for the soup with the fish. In Japan there is no such thing as a soup course in an authentic Japanese dinner--it always comes with the meal. This is also true of Korean food. Nikki gladly brought my soup with my sushi. Once I was done, I couldn't resist and ordered a yellowtail roll. Yellowtail has become extremely expensive in recent years and now rarely appears on a sashimi or sushi platter. However, it is my favorite fish and Sapporo's didn't disappoint. After I was finished, I sat back and drank the remainder of my tea thinking this area finally has a real Japanese/Korean restaurant. It has very good sushi and the decor is upscale and very clean. I can't wait to return for more. read more
