    Garlic crunch spicy tuna roll
    Kell M.

Our waitress was awesome! I wish I could recall her name--she was so funny and the most charming lady, made the experience even better. I had the yellowtail sushi and the garlic crunch spicy tuna roll, both were so good and fresh! I also shared beef dumplings to start and those were really good as well. Service was fast, the ambience was nice and it seems like they have a ton of regulars which is a great sign. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd definitely go back!

    Sushi and sashimi for 2!

Amazing sushi and sashimi for two! The gentleman on the phone helped me with the order. The website had a very small listing of what they have available for takeout. Maybe an update on that would be helpful for those of us using Yelp while traveling. Loved everything we received.

Sapporo is a great Japanese restaurant in the quaint town of Waynesboro, PA. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the food is absolutely delicious. Due to COVID-19 restrictions relaxing a bit in the last couple of months, the restaurant has recently allowed dine-in service again. When you first walk in, there is a large table for carry out orders, but the next room offers plenty of seating. I must say that I enjoyed and felt nostalgic listening to music from the early 2000s on the sound system. The furniture is a little worn and could use a little updating, but the food more than makes up for it. Definitely give Sapporo a try!

Today was the worst and it is the last time I order here. Important to note is this place has an identity crisis. It is called a sushi place but they serve americanized Chinese food, Thai food, and pretty much any food that can be called asian. As a general rule, this means nothing on thr massive menu is truly good. I got a pickup order that was scheduled to be completed at 408. I arrived at 420 and they said 20 minutes. 445 and i got my order after seeing most of my food sit in a bag and get cold. The quickest thing to make (sushi) was the last to go in the bag. Ordered Thai green curry and got something that was most certainly not a Thai curry. There was zero coconut and the only thing that made it close to curry is the fact it had basil. I wpuld call what I got basil shrimp and vegetables. The general tsos chicken is loaded with pineapple. This is only place I know that adds fruit to general tsos chicken. The chicken was also not crispy. General tsos should effectively be orange chicken without the orange and a little spicier. The volcano roll was far too heavy on cream cheese. Overpriced and worst volcano roll I have had. If it was 8$ sure, but it was 16.50$ Their crab rangoon and sauce is good. So if you only want that, go visit. I think they will be out of business sooner than later. The pic is of their "curry"

Today we tried Lazy Fish because it was recommended by David's colleague. We got the Pork Belly appetizer, Lazy Rainbow, Lazy Shack, and the Lazy Spaghetti which was on the Specials menu when we went. Pork Belly: Although the pork itself was fatty and tender, and a bigger piece than we expected, although waaaaay too much cabbage and a little too sweet from the pineapple for my taste. Lazy Shack and Lazy Rainbow: LOVED these rolls! We were actually impressed by how fresh the fish was?? And the amount and texture of the rice was on point. Multiple tables next to us got the Lazy Rainbow so it seems like a popular one to get. We also appreciated the real crab that they used (although I may have gotten the smallest piece of shell in my Lazy Shack, but it was so good I didn't even care). Lazy Spaghetti: Basically like a massamun beef curry and spaghetti fusion. On the tad spicy side for me. Was really creamy and the sauce to spaghetti ratio was a little heavy (on the sauce side) that I wish there was more spaghetti to soak it up. Definitely would stick to the sushi here (although I'm a sucker for a sushi + hot dish combo). Would consider coming back to try some of their nigiris next time!

I was very impressed. We were seated in no time, our waitress took our drink order, and our food order as we were sitting on the hibachi side and in no time our cook was outperforming his tricks in front of us. Our waitress was absolutely the best, she was constantly checking whether our drinks were topped off, had a very friendly personality, and the food was cooked to perfection, not to mention, we were not rushed out of our seat, we were able to enjoy a great dinner with a nice atmosphere. No frills, no flash, and no attempt to impress with décor. Instead, all the care and pride are poured exactly where they should be, into the food and the service. And in those areas, this place delivers five full stars without question. I live in Washington, D.C., where sushi options are plentiful and often overpriced. Many of those restaurants would wish they could match what this small spot does so effortlessly. The freshness and quality of the fish were outstanding, and every piece of sushi showed a level of attention and craftsmanship that is becoming increasingly rare. You can taste the care in each bite. What really stood out was the consistency and intention behind every order. From the sushi chef's precision to the welcoming service, it felt like a place that genuinely loves what it does and wants you to leave happy. This is now firmly on my list of must-visit spots whenever I'm in Hagerstown. If you appreciate great sushi made with skill, heart, and honesty, do yourself a favor and seek this place out.
