You won't find a better or more dedicated captain and crew anywhere. The regulars are friendly and welcoming. The trips run anywhere from full day fluke to three quarter day sea bass. Tuna season in the canyon is about to begin. This season we go deep sea in 125' of water. I've fished all over Long Island and I always come back to my friends at Capt Lou fleet!

We brought along a two-year-old, a four-year-old, and a six-year-old, and the ride was safe for all of them. Nick served reasonably priced adult beverages on board. Overall, it was a great experience. We've sailed before and will definitely sail again.

The boat was very well kept and both were extremely knowledgeable and helpful as well. They even called Braco's to have them cook our catch when we go back to the dock. We ended up with appx 20-30 fluke (12 keepers) including a 10lb monster! Couldn't thank these guys enough and we look forward to hitting the waters with them again soon.

One of the trips was the best fluke fishing I have ever been involved in, with both big fish and a large number of fish being caught. Capt. Mike made good use of his knowledge of the fishing grounds and his array of electronics to put us on the fish time after time. On one of the trips I was fishing with two young cousins and Capt Mike and the mate were very patient with the boys, showing them how to fish and making it a great day for all. I have to say the captain did an excellent job moving is around we caught a lot of shorts, but we all had a fish on by the end of the day. My favorite part was that the captain burned a lot of gas moving us around to catch a good drift. We went all over from beyond Long Beach to Jones to every inlet in between. I was impressed that he moved around so much to stay with the tide. Staff was great as was the captain! I would absolutely recommend Capt Jim!! I was not disappointed. He's a real fishing boat.

The mates were pretty helpful in putting the bait on the hooks and they measured each catch to see if they were big enough to keep. The only negative I would say is there is no prior instruction on safety, no clue where the life preservers were located and we could barely hear the captain over the PA. And if you get seasick, as a dozen of us did, dramamine doesn't help and 5 hours on the boat is too long!!

Only about 18 people on board including the captain and 2 crew members (that we noticed). The Captain decided the ocean was too choppy, so we stayed in the bay and inlet. We did more looking than we did fishing. The 2 crew members didn't seem to want to be there and didn't help anyone too much. It was ok but there are a lot of other charter fishing boats to try first.
