We had a fantastic time aboard the Skyline Princess this weekend. The highlight of the experience was the outstanding customer service from start to finish. A special thank you to Adriana, who went above and beyond when we called asking if there would be any way to watch Game 5 of the Knicks playoff run. Rather than giving us a simple yes or no, she took the time to look into it and ultimately arranged to have a TV brought onboard so guests could watch the game during the cruise. That level of customer care is rare and truly made the night memorable. The cruise itself was smooth and enjoyable, with beautiful views, a fun atmosphere, and decent food and drinks. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making sure everyone had a great experience. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend Skyline Princess to anyone looking for a great night out on the water. read more

This boat was much smaller than I expected--but I actually liked that. I figured a smaller boat would be quieter, and it was. It was a dinner cruise, a four-hour tour from 7 PM to 11 PM. I already knew I would enjoy it because I liked the dinner menu: braised short ribs, fish, chicken, pasta, Caesar salad, potatoes, broccoli, and rolls. The dinner was good. The ride was fun. There were people celebrating birthdays--an 80th and a 50th. We passed under all the major bridges in New York City and saw many iconic buildings and towers. The boat itself seemed a bit older and not quite as fancy as I had expected. They docked at around 10:30 PM, a little earlier than the scheduled 11 PM. The service was good, and overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. I'd definitely do it again next May--my birthday month. read more

This was a great dinner cruise! The value is absolutely there. The food was actually tasty (my entire party went for seconds). The seats were comfortable. The different decks were great for grabbing outdoor pics. Only thing I would say is it was a little hard to enjoy the open air deck for dancing but that could be age related. They say to get there 15 minutes early, but we got there 30 minutes early and the line was already pretty long. Definitely don't be late! A few things about the wait in general: There is no shade. Later in the day they put up a 10x10 tent but that does nothing in August for 100+ people. Bring a hat, a handheld fan, sunscreen, and water. Trust me. On the boat, go up top to the stern and both sides of the boat will get good views of the statue; one side gets it when you drive up, and one when you drive back. So just choose a side of the helm and stay there. You'll get a good picture, I promise. They sell refreshments on the boat for a few bucks, but we just had water. There are also a few souvenirs, but with Chinatown being a 10-minute walk away, you could get a better variety to choose from at a better price. This is a great way to see the statue in an efficient way. Between waiting in line and the boat ride it was less than 90 minutes. We got tickets on Groupon and saved a ton of money on the regular price. Definitely a "must see" attraction in NYC and worth it! read more

The good was the convenience. We did not have to go all the way into the city, look for parking, or fight the crowds. It was a quick 35 minute car ride from home. Parking by the harbor was plentiful. Everyone was assigned seating for dinner. Buffet dinner was surprisingly decent. Chicken was the only entree dish anyone complained about, desserts were just okay, cocktails were plentiful. The not so great was the price for the value. I'm glad we didn't pay extra for VIP because the standard was already too expensive. I don't think having 30 minute early boarding access for cocktails would have been worthwhile for us. The boat ride was about 6 hours, the ride back definitely seemed longer but I think it is because we were having dinner and seeing the sights on the way to the fireworks location. The way back was just mediocre dessert time. I would not take this cruise thinking you would fully experience NYC sightseeing. We saw the freedom tower and the NYC skyline but we did not get close to the Statue of Liberty at all. The bad was the proximity to the fireworks. It seemed we were one of the boats that were furthest away. We had done a cruise 10 years prior where we were almost under the fireworks and it was amazing. Not sure what happened but there was no music on the boat during the fireworks show. I would have hoped for the Macy's music but any patriotic music would have been preferable to the dead silence for most of the show. The music finally came on for the last bit but it was a lame attempt at that point. The really bad was a family of 4 where the elderly woman and her daughter were obviously served too much alcohol. Staff should be trained to recognize when to stop serving alcohol to inebriated passengers. The two women spoiled the experience for us with their drunken behavior. They were loud, inappropriate, and threatening. Even though there was security, nothing was done while it was happening. I was going to give 3 stars because overall we did have a nice night out but upon finishing this review and pondering on my experience, I think 2 stars is being generous. Suggestions for improvement would be: get closer to the fireworks, play the Macy's music, and do better to make sure drunk passengers don't spoil the experience for others. Last thing, while waiting to get onto the boat, a photographer started taking pictures of each group with what I thought was the backdrop of the boat. The boat was not clear in the picture, she should have picked a location where the boat would be obvious. We ended up buying a few pictures because they did come out well, I just wish they had backdrops of the boat or city skyline or anything indicating we were on a dinner cruise to see fireworks. Our pictures just looked like we were outside by the water or having dinner at a restaurant. I would not spend the money again for this cruise but overall, like I said, the 2 stars because we did for the most part enjoy our night. read more

Our family was visiting from Chile and wanted to see NYC! What a better way to show them such beautiful sights than on a lunch cruise. We had a great time! Everything was great. The dining room was beautifully and the table very nicely set. We were a big group of 13 and had very good accommodations. The lunch buffet was delicious. Every dish was very tasty, nicely seasoned and cooked. Our guests really enjoyed their entrees. Our server, Eugene was very attentive and so nice. And of course very patient. He made sure we all had what we needed. The views were of course so amazing. From the bridges to the Statue of Liberty, to my favorite historical building... Ellis Island, and to the beautiful architecture! We also danced to great music and had plenty of opportunities to take amazing pictures from all the decks. The experience was nice , up until I slipped & fell down the steps of the boat from the upper deck on March 15th, 2025. Staff was completely negligent with the exception of one who told me to "chill out on the beach LOL" after i verbalized my right buttcheek was throbbing in pain. No compassion from the employees toward the fact that I've injured myself , no incident form could be produced , no medical officials on board either . The steps are wooden & were rather slippery due to them being wet . My review would've been a complete 5 stars if the staff & the company itself were more professional & compassionate toward such a tragic incident involving a passenger , who actually felt the experience & boat ride in total was good up until the fall & what responses led up to that . Our family loves Skyline Cruises! We have come for birthdays and special family celebrations many times. We always have a really nice time - fun for all generations in our family. It is our favorite way to celebrate together in the city. We all enjoy the food a lot - and we have very different tastes in food. The Staff are always so friendly, attentive and chill. The vibe is very New York, and focused on us NYers, with all of our diversity. It is not a shallow touristy experience. I was pleasantly surprised, exceeded my expectations. Very organized, boarding process was quick and easy. Party of two and we had our own table. Being on the ship I wanted to spend more time outside. Seeing NYC from the water is such a different experience. So we grabbed a drink, 4 drinks for $35 package. Drinks were good and strong, I split them with my spouse. We had a private table for two on first deck. The ship is 3 decks first two was for table seating, each deck has a bar and buffet. Top deck is open but with a roof and has dance floor/dj. We stayed on the bow for a while then watched from upstairs. Dinner was served about an hour in, we had Steak, was excellent, stuffed flounder excellent, chicken (didn't try), Ceasar Salid excellent, potato, and vegatable medley both good and a pesto pasta was also good. No complaints on food , after everyone was served you could get seconds if you want, there was plenty of food from what I saw. Plates and utensils were plastic but was quality type and was fine. We were assigned a server, Rebecca, she was so pleasant and nice. She was always available for taking a drink order, bringing water and clearing table. Ordered separate glass of wine for dinner $10, drinks were not overly priced considering its NYC. Statue of liberty was so impressive, we got very close. Didn't care much for the DJ music mostly R&B, would have liked some classic stuff maybe NY, NY etc. Our waitress Rebecca said they usually do, but different DJ tonight. I might have liked a little narration on the sights we were going by, but maybe others would find it distracting. Coffee and desert was served, we had cannoli and cheese cake, but everything looked great. Our Server kept finding us to tell us to come inside for the meals, like I mentioned we were outside mostly. The water was calm, not rough at all. Deck Mate Zack was talking to us on the bow as he was in and out checking on things. He mentioned even though our trip is 4 hours and we turn around at the statue of liberty, depending on currents you can hit the turn around in under 2hrs or over 2 hrs, just saying so you can time when you want to go outside. Photographer was available and would take as many pictures as you would like. The pictures came out great, we took 1 in a nice frame for $25. That's not a bad deal. Dinner cruise. No communication - no welcome announcement to tell us what is happening, what the schedule is, how the buffet line works, or what to expect, and no safety briefing. Doesnt the coast guard require a safety briefing? Its so easy to do - just tell us where the life preservers are. They had a private party on second floor and they don't have separate music or PA systems apparently so we were all kind of on the private party's schedule and beholden to their music selection. DJ wasn't great. Food was average. They take down the buffet too quickly. It is a very long trip. We have been twice now (first trip was better) and both got back 45 minutes past the scheduled time. read more

New York Skyline Lights Sail on the sloop "Adirondack". Great way to sail the Hudson at night all the way down to Liberty Island and back to Pier 62. My boyfriend and I decided to do something a little different for the 4th of July this year and booked a dinner cruise through here mainly to get front row views of the Macy's fireworks. Our tickets for $240 included general seating (at a table with 8 other strangers), unlimited drinks, a DJ with a dance floor on the third floor and buffet dinner. Let's start with the positive things about this cruise... -Beautiful, breath taking views -Viewing the Macy's fireworks from the water -Unlimited drinks -Clean boat -Friendly staff -AC on blast on the dining floors I've always watched the Macy's fireworks from home but after viewing them from the boat, I have an entirely new appreciation for them. They were absolutely stunning and pretty romantic if you're watching them with your partner. The expensive price of that ticket was well worth it after seeing those fireworks...however when it came to the food, I was not impressed by all means. Cons of this dinner cruise.. -Extremely cramped viewing area -Food ..yuck -Dance floor with no AC The food was served buffet style and it was fish, chicken and prime rib for meats while the sides were pasta, potatoes and string beans. The only thing that I really took a liking to out of the food was the pasta and that wasn't even anything to brag home about. Can we please discuss the uncooked string beans and bland potatoes? The chicken was okay...and the prime rib was bland as well. For the amount of money that we paid and the food that we were served it is safe to say that we pretty much paid for the spectacular view of the Macys fireworks. The boat was parked with the back facing the fireworks which everyone was cramped because the bigger side is the front. Not only was the viewing of the fireworks cramped but it was so hot back there so just imagine how it felt with a bunch of people crammed in one small area. I doubt I will ever do one of these dinner cruises again because the price is outrageous for really crappy food but I am happy that I did it because I saw the fireworks in a whole new light. We had a wonderful time of this cruise! The staff were all nothing short of wonderful. The boat was very pleasant. From the time we set off from Flushing Marina the good vibes were flowing. We opted for the dinner cruise and the food was fresh and tasty- I especially enjoyed the Sole and the Caesar Salad. The journey down the East River was fantastic. As the sun set we rounded into spectacular views of lower Manhattan and Lady Liberty herself. A great deal! read more

My school used the Skyline Princess for our end of the year party! What a party it was! When you arrive at the Marina, there is a walk up to the boat that takes about 7 minutes. For me 10 minutes because I was wearing heels that weren't chunky. I spent a lot of time dodging the opening that were in the boards. (I removed my shoes for the walk back after the boat ride. Next time I will wear wedges). It was chilly for a June evening, so we waited in a little bar that is near the boat. We got off to a slightly rough start because a few of my coworkers were stuck in traffic. They were nice enough to wait for the latecomers and then the fun began. For $100 we had unlimited cocktails, dinner, and dessert. Well bring on the amaretto sours! The bartender was friendly and asked if he was making the drinks to our liking. Very, very good! For our appetizer we had a tossed caesar salad. Perfectly dressed and it had a spicy bite to it! For the entree it was buffet style. There was an assortment of mixed vegetables, potatoes, baked fish, and prime rib. There was a pasta dish as well. There was lots to choose from! Dessert was a choice of cheesecake, chocolate cake or carrot cake. Everyone was pleased with the selection. The coffee was wonderful too! Upstairs there was an open dancing area. It had begun to rain and the boat was a little rocky. Let's just say the Electric Slide was a bit more electrified with us sliding all over the place. I eventually took off my shoes and got in the groove! The music was good and the dj played a mix of different genres to keep the crowd moving. It was a bit humid and my hair went a little crazy but we all had a wonderful time! We can't wait for our next party on the Skyline Princess! We will definitely be back! read more

We booked an anniversary party with Skyline Cruises and all our guests had a blast! The staff was very attentive before and during the trip, and worked with us to make some personal touches such as letting us decorate our tables. We also brought our own cake onboard, which they kept chilled until it was time to serve it. Our waitress kept the drinks flowing, and happily accommodated guest requests. The DJ was great, and took personal requests, which made the night even more special. He played a good mix, read the crowd well. He had shout-outs to us the anniversary couple, and birthday call outs as well. The length of the cruise was just right, given there was dinner too. The buffet options were good, food was great especially the beef. Sizable dessert included with the dinner as well. Great photo ops at Statue of Liberty. They have an onboard photographer, each photo is $25 with no discount for multiple purchases. Also we were told all adults had to opt into the unlimited drinks package if one person was interested in it, although some of our party did not drink alcohol. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding reception. With only 3 months' notice to organize our special day, my husband and I were scrambling for an available NYC venue that was accessible by different modes of transport and within our small budget. Hotels nearby for guests. And by some miracle, we stumbled across the Skyline Princess. We opted for the open bar package, to keep our guests happy :) It also included an excellent set buffet menu (cooked on board) accommodating guests with gluten-free and nut allergies, a 2-tier wedding cake (you can pick the fillings), a maitre'd to keep things running smoothly on the night, as well as accommodating and attentive wait staff. With our guest count at 55, we booked out the second deck, which can fit up to 65. The elevated view ensured everyone could enjoy the sights and take amazing photos. There were outside areas at the front and the back of the boat on the second deck, which everyone appreciated. And if they wanted to dance, they could go up onto the top deck (protected from wind and rain) where they could make requests to the DJ. Buck was our to-go guy and made everything possible with his helpful suggestions - my husband and I wanted a no-frills kind of wedding reception, and with the set menu, the numbers on the tables, the cake, the little things we needed were covered. We were also able to incorporate a Chinese tea ceremony on board in respect for my parents, and had our dances in the middle of the second deck, which gave us a little privacy from other non-party guests. I went for a birthday party here and it was a pretty good time. We paid 170 dollars for the four hour cruise which includes food and unlimited drinks. The Good: The boat was clean, the service was great (our waitress was so sweet and attentive), and the dance floor/DJ set up was nice. Enjoyed the views too The Bad: that's a lot of money for four hours on a boat. It's such a rip off because you could have a good time with less money per person for a bday party somewhere else. It also pains me to say that the food was not great. It was buffet style but the pasta was on the hard side, and the other dishes were very bland. we boarded the Skyline Princess for my cousin's wedding reception. I'm always up for a boat ride, but I always forget to bring my eyepatch. to be fair, I'm always a bit cautious about the food on boats, but the food was spectacular (the chicken particularly was tender and had a flavorful, slightly spicy brown sauce) and the service was great. open bar with friendly bartenders. I liked that we had a private room for the party, which included private bathrooms (and not just one stall and a sink in each, they actually had a few stalls) and a private deck. of course, we managed to infiltrate the top level and back deck to get some good photos! the boat itself was in good shape and clean. what I liked the most was the slightly different cruise itinerary. I've done the half-crescent boat ride around Manhattan a zillion times, which is fun but fails to really impress me these days. I guess living here my entire life makes me a bit jaded. since this left from Flushing we got to see more of northeast Manhattan, north Queens, and west Brooklyn. fairly accessible by 7 train as it's a bit of a walk behind Citi Field. plenty of parking, but we decided to Uber it so I could drink (the weather was spotty, so we didn't feel like walking from the 7) and not need to worry about driving home. read more

I am a native New Yorker, however, I was downright giddy over the views of Manhattan from this cruise. It was like seeing my hometown with new eyes! The boat itself was immaculate... The staff was sweet and attentive. The Captain/Owner Pete was charming and couldn't have been more accommodating. I have to say, even the office staff was extremely helpful when booking my cruise with some crazy family members. I was really looking forward to the experience but wasn't expecting to be impressed with the food. Boy, was I wrong! Everyone in my party enjoyed their meal.
