Let me preface this with, I'm only giving 2 stars because while the problem was fixed the level of service was horrendous. This company was contracted through American Home Shield to fix a cracked pipe behind our toilet. The area it cracked was before the shutoff valve so pressurized water almost flooded the bathroom, so I had to shut off our main water line outside for a full day until they arrived. The interaction started off normal, he came into our house and I explained to him the issue. Showed him the exact problem (picture attached), and assumed this should be an easy fix to either seal the PVC pipe or just replace the 3inch section. He proceeds to text on his phone to his company regarding the issues, asking me what's behind this wall. Confused I told him the laundry room. He then tells me, he will most likely need to remove the toilet to access the pipe (2 inches behind the wall), and that AHS does not cover its removal (i asked, they do, they only need to call to get authorization), and that it would cost $432 to (directly to his company) just move the toilet and repair the pipe. I told him, no, you can access it without doing that, and he said, "how do you expect me to cut the wall with the toilet in the way". In which I responded, the same way I did to show where the crack was. I reiterate he can fix the pipe and access the wall without removing a toilet. He doesn't say anything goes outside, for a few mins, come back into the bathroom. He tells me he will need to make a bigger hole in the wall, I said ok. In less than 5 mins he fixed the pipe with a sharkbite fitting and turned back on the water. He then gets up and says "I'm done", proceeds to walk out the door and get in his van and leave. He didn't provide a completed work order for me to sign to verify his work, or even explain what exactly he did he just left. I had to call the company to get them to send me a copy of the invoice. Also, AHS provides for the plumbing company to repair, any holes caused by the damage or access needed. He didn't even attempt to do that. He left in such a hurry and with no clean up of the drywall, that he even left his PVC pipe cutter (pic below). So I was left with a large hole, drywall on the floor, and had to call AHS to send ANOTHER company to come to repair the wall, as a continuation of the current work order. I was courteous to this gentlemen (i even went back on my cameras to see if it was something i said), so I'm not sure if it was my refusal for him to upcharge me nearly $500 for a service that's included with AHS. Or the fact that the problem was diagnosed before he arrived and the repair was always going to be extremely simple (I'm honestly afraid of what he would have tried to charge if I hadn't seen where the exact problem was.) But the way he left without an explanation, a completed workorder, cleanup of the damage/repair area, or repair of the wall afterwards was extremely discourteous and rude. I caution everyone with home warranties, please know your service contracts before you deal with this company. Potentially having to remove a toilet to fix a pipe is absolutely included with my contract, fixing a hole in the wall is also included with the contract. Cleaning up may not be included, but what contractor do you know would come repair something, and then leave things in disarray. Please be aware of who you hire. read more

I gotta say, I'm a little blown away by the lack of integrity on display from this service provider. It took weeks to get an appt scheduled after the winter storm, they missed the original scheduled appointment, due to calling me at 6:58 the evening they were supposed to arrive and left a voicemail that it would need to be re-scheduled. They were scheduled to arrive between 4-7p... Called back 30 seconds later, no answer.. I go on with my day. Apparently they arrive sometime between 8p-9p and tried to get ahold of me, but missed that contact as I was busy at that time, expecting them to call the next morning to re-schedule, as my voicemail requested. Get ahold of them the next morning, and am blamed for not having picked up the phone or allowed them into my house at 9p... Should have been the first sign, but I kept my cool, and politely asked them to schedule the appointment for the day after I returned from being out of town a week. So we're three weeks now without hot water. So they finally arrive that Thursday, check it out and put in the service request with my home warranty company. The price continued to climb as we went back and forth and eventually agreed on the work to be completed. Whatever, I just want hot water. Another week passes before they arrive to install the new water heater. Two workers arrive, one a supervisor apparently, and get started. They chop the plumbing and begin to remove the original water heater, when the realize it won't fit out the door. Most people would get out a sawzall and cut it up and remove it.. This wasn't an issue, except for the fact that they didnt seem to want to remove it, and the new water heater wouldnt fit in the door... Measurements count yall, measure twice, think thrice and cut once. So I go from $1000 out of pocket to 4300 for a tankless they can fit through the door easily. No word still of removing the old unit, and I threw a fit given the delays and now 400% cost increase? I would have bought the tankless in the first place had they offered that as an option, but that wasnt till after the fact. They did knock down the price, but I can't get them to actually set an appointment now to come back and install the thing, because of some issue with them taking payment? I've now called two days in a row and been told by Rose who forgets who I am now every call, that a supervisor would be in touch, haven't heard a word in 24 hours. Further, they just left the water heater disconnected, completely in the way of the hvac, they were told I was having serviced the following day and plumbing crap all over the floor. I will say the supervisor was initially helpful in trying to get the situation resolved, he did get the tankless discounted but has since disappeared, Still waiting on that call back though, with nothing but cold water still basically a month later. I'm a patient person, but now that I know I can cash out the money on my home warranty and find another plumber, it appears I may have to. Trying to be reasonable with these people, and would love to get this resolved, but time will tell whether it will be SAP completing the work at this point or someone else. read more

My warranty company sent them for a water stoppage Literally everything was bad: very long wait times on the phone untrained, outsourced, ignorant customer service people rescheduled on me 3x. 2 reschedules occurred after 1 hour of when they said they'd arrive they finally did the work... and damaged my bathroom tile in the process. The workmanship was very sloppy and looks very bad. I had to hire another company to fix it. Refused to put me in touch with a supervisor. Said they would reach out to me. I asked for this on 3 separate phone calls and no one ever called. They refused to put anything in writing. Their prices are also much higher than other companies. SAP Home Repair Services was sent out to my house via my home warranty company (American Home Shield) to fix/replace my garbage disposal. As usual...every time I have to deal with American Home Shield is just a joke. I waited 5 days for them to finally come out to my house. The plumber finally showed up and verified my disposal was bad and confirmed it needed to be replaced. He said he had 4 garbage disposals on his truck that morning but he installed them all at other homes and would not be able put in my new disposal. He told me he sent the information to his office and they would have someone out before the end of the week. I have not heard a word from SAP nor can I reach anyone when I call their office. You have to hold for 20-30 minutes and then you are asked to leave a voicemail. I've left 4 voice mail messages and no one has returned my calls. This is no way to conduct business! read more

The technical will make any BS lies to charge you extra money out of your pocket to fix things that is covered under the warranty contract. No regard for time- they say they will come at a certain time and fail to do so. A very large man tried to hoist himself up into our ladder-less attic and broke panels off the attic opening. AHS sent one of these technicians to our house for plumbing repair on August 31. This company is the biggest joke. It is now October and not only have they not done ANY work, we have had to call literally every day for a status. We kept getting the run around. They told us the part was on back order and every other excuse under the sun. The last conversation the lady threatened that they would report it was a problem that wasn't covered (it is definitely covered). We finally found the part and ordered it ourselves. WE ended up doing the work! I have never worked with such unprofessional people! The worst part is the water supply had to be turned off! These folks were supposed to have been sent by American Shield Insurance for plumbing issues with our toilet. 5 days later and they never contacted us or came out even though our insurance charged us $100 for services not rendered. Terrible service. They came out to do a camera inspection of my plumbing lines. I was having some major plumbing issues at the home I just moved into. This company was sent by my home warranty. They made the plumbing situation so much worse! When they left I noticed sewer water was flowing up my shower like a fountain. I called them to send the plumber back and they refused to send him back to fix anything he had broken until I paid them! He left me with no working toilets. I actually had to move in with a friend because after they left there was no working plumbing. The "customer service" was so bad. They broke things further and refused to fix anything they did wrong. I also got conflicting answers as to what was wrong from two of their plumbers. Do not use this company! They will leave you worse off than before. Contacted AHS home warranty service re a malfunctioning water heater June 28 and they assigned contract to SAP. SAP finally managed to come out to look at the problem July 7th - over a week later!! Then it took them until late July 16th to send me the repair estimate. After reviewing it I approved it on July 20th (2 business days later) and have been waiting ever since for them to install. It is now 4 August and no activity. Got hold of them on the 26th to see what the delay was and was told that AHS needed to supply the water heater and they were waiting in that. Have tried numerous times since then to reach them by phone and get no response - worst company I've ever dealt with. read more

This company is horrible. Like others, for some reason American Home Shield contracts with them. I had a hole in the copper tubing to one of my shower heads that leaked. I had already removed the handle to the shower and had already cut out the sheetrock. My first appointment was on a Friday between 0900-1200. They called the night before saying that they had an "emergency" and they had to push my appointment back to between 4pm-7pm. At 5:30pm, they called that they were on the way. At 7pm, nobody has showed up. Tech didn't show up until 9pm at night. He walks in, looks at it, and says that he didn't have the parts, and I would have to reschedule. This is after I told them exactly what the problem was. So, when calling....prepare to hold for 20 to 30 mins waiting for someone to pick up. This after the system tells you "you are next in line, waiting time is 1 min." So, the tech arrived the 2nd time and fixed the pipe. For this, he had to cut away a piece of wood that was between the 2 studs. No big deal. Two days later, i again notice that my sheetrock and wood are wet again. I notice there is now a gash in one of the red hot water plastic tubing. This gash is right above where the tech cut the wood to fix the first problem. I called back(again waiting for 25 mins on hold). Explained what was going on. They told me I had to contact American Home Shield again to set up a recall. ( I was not charged again). Set up another appointment. Told them exactly what the problem was. When he showed up today, he asked my wife where the closet home depot was so he could go get the parts!!! He left, then he called and said that all the tech's got called back because of the rain, and I needed to call and reschedule another appointment. Again, waited 35 mins before speaking to someone to reschedule. Now, I have to wait 3 more days before someone can come back out!! read more

I really wish I would have read reviews before I used this company. I have to completely agree with all the comments. Customer service is lacking. The tech came out to my home (very nice) and said the bottom part of my water heater was leaking so it was broken. He told me I would have running water - just cold since the hot water had to be turned off. He called me an hour later saying he forgot to turn on the water but he's 30 minutes away. He walked me through the process of turning on the water outside to not come back. An hour later I went upstairs to measure out the plywood when I heard running water. I looked up and the pipes he had connected - to avoid water going into the boiler-were leaking at the connection site. Basically he did not tighten the connection & didn't notice since he forgot to turn the water back on and double check his work. I text him a picture and video so he called and came back to fix it. No problem when he tightened with a wrench. A day later I noticed my garage has huge water damage. Probably in the hour it took for me to go upstairs & measure out things - but thank God I did go up there. When I call the company the front office employee tells me there was always a leak on top. Really?? LOL. She said she has pictures. I stated I have pictures also that I send to the tech and this is actual running water - like someone turned a faucet on - not a leak from the water heater. I asked who was going to fix the sheet rock in garage and they said they didn't cause it. Needless to say I do not want them in my home again to potentially cause more damage and not take accountability. I offered to send pictures, the texts with the tech, phone records (7pm & 8pm) of the tech calling me, etc but she said no. I also said "if" this was already there why would he leave it like that after he left? Logically this makes no sense. If this was "already leaking on the top" and it was "fixed" why is your tech calling me twice and after I send a text? Front office employee then gets upset when I say "shit" after basically being called a liar. Sigh. Let's focus on the real issues - water damage. As a customer I have never been this inconvenience. There's no communication since the tech said my warranty company would call me but the company said the contractor was supposed to call me two days prior. Honestly, it should have been a sign when they never called me initially, I had to call them hours later after it was listed as a priority. I told the secretary my heater wasn't heating so she asked for my address while laughing in the background with coworkers then asks "what's wrong with your heater?" Sigh. read more

He could not then reported that the pipe was damaged due to foundation issues. Since when does a plumber diagnosis foundation issues??? WTH!!! RUN...Shady People!!! ZERO STARS. Like many others they were sent out by AHS. I had to wait 4 days to get them to look at my leaking water heater. They came and told me I'd hear from AHS within 30 min. 3 days later I called and apparently they never sent in their diagnostics (like others have mentioned). Then they told me I'd have to pay $1000 out of pocket to get it fixed, I started asking for details. They told me we were paying for them to convert to a gas water heater. Well I don't have gas on my property. After calling AHS, who also reached out to them, I had to again ask for details of their charges. When they finally sent me the charges, they dropped them to $488 for me and what they told AHS was $533 - they sent us different detailed charges. It's been over a week, and my water heater is still leaking into the garage. These people are shady, and I will probably drop AHS since this is who they send out. Very unprofessional, bad service - I strongly don't recommend If you are planning to use them in Austin, TX. AMHS assign them as contractor to fix my hot water heater and starting from taking to their dispatcher over the phone who was extremely unfriendly to the technician they sent who left my house with a dripping pipe as he didn't have the tools or the means to fix it. They started the finger pointing game with AMHS about they haven't received PO yet, while I had AMHS confirming that they already sent the PO. Then they charged me $1,200 to fix pipes otherwise they wouldn't proceed with the water heater installation. A complete rip off! read more

***DON'T USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!*** This company was scheduled to service my hot water heater on 6/14/19 between 5pm-8pm. Well at 7:50pm, there was no call or technician so I decided to call. Was told that the tech was in an accident, but no one decided to call me. So I called AHS, as this is who recommended them. Finally SAP called and said a technician will be there. He arrives and says he need to go to Home Depot to get a part and will return. He comes back and was still not able to get the pilot light to stay on. The tech then decides that the water heater is not getting gas and I needed a part ordered. Because we were without hot water, the tech said that SAP will expedite it. I called SAP Saturday for an update, and was told the part was ordered. When I asked if they will call me w/updates so that I don't have to keep calling them, the woman, Rose, got rude and hung up. Fast forward to Monday, 6/17/19 at 4:10pm, I called SAP, AGAIN, to get an update. I was told that the part was ordered and sent via ground shipping. When I asked when will it arrive, she says...if you want it expedited, it will be $30. Well if the part was already ordered and is on the way, why would I pay to expedite it. She then said, let me check on your order and comes back to say, the part was located, but not ordered. WHAT?!?!? But you just said the part was ordered. Come to find out, the part was NEVER ordered and it will take 7-10 days to come, IF I didn't pay the $30 to expedite it. This is RIDICULOUS!!! I asked why didn't anyone contact me earlier this morning to inform me of the option to expedite it. Her response...we're open until 7pm. What does that have to do with anything?? They are, by far, have the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. And they don't care! They don't act with a sense of urgency, they don't care about the customers, they lie, they don't provide updates, unless YOU call. And with good luck, you MIGHT get the truth out of them. Seriously disappointed with the customer service provided by office representatives (Jessica and Melissa). I also left a voicemail for mgmt. (Carol) and never heard back regarding my numerous failed attempts to reschedule a water heater install. This review is not inclusive of the techs that were sent on two occasions, which were very professional. Unfortunately the techs were unable to replace my water heater upon the 2nd visit since the tech sent to diagnose the problem during the initial visit forgot to disclose the need for a platform to be built in the attic prior to replacement work. I paid to have the walkway platform built that next morning and notified the company reps above by phone and email on numerous (5+) occasions to reschedule and never heard back. I was promised a call back on various occasions and nothing. I'm shocked that the company would expose themselves to my water heater completely failing and causing damage here. I treated the company very professionally by phone and in writing and got no where. I even had to dispute the charge for the water heater with my bank, as Jessica never processed a refund as indicated to me and the supervising tech during their 2nd visit. read more

After a very grumpy technical showed up, he told me that the only way to fix the issue with my toilet was to replace the flush handle. Got a call nearly two weeks later stating that SAP "could not find a replacement handle and would need to replace the entire toilet." I bought a replacement handle for $15 off Amazon (it's a standard side-mounted handle) and replaced myself. Ridiculous suggestion from a ridiculous company. read more

I called numerous times, left numerous voice messages, but no one ever returned my call. I had to go through AHS again to request a new visit. Guess what, they didn't call either. After several attempts, I managed to get them to schedule someone to come the following week. I won't be able to stress enough in this paragraph how you should avoid this company at all costs. Starting with the Scheduler to the services/work. Absolutely unprofessional, I've had 4 dealings with this company, each time the scheduler messed up the appointment time/date, 4 times every time she messed it up, we have professional jobs, to take off work to wait for service man never to show up and call to find out what's going on, the scheduler simply denies the appointment, I have text messages of us both confirming appointment time, 4 times she did this, the serviceman came out 3 times to fix the same job, third time was a charm I guess. A simple faucet issue turned into 3 visits and over 3 weeks of delay. The part was installed, broken by the installer, ordered, they realized wrong part ordered, then finally installed. Very hard to get ahold of anyone and they wouldn't let me talk to a manager. The last visit they showed up without even scheduling with us beforehand. We had to do business with them through AHS.
