If you're looking for a standard Chinese place outside the hustle and bustle of Leicester square / Chinatown area, look no further. SanXia Renjia has lots of seats for bigger groups and is spacious enough that you don't need to worry about booking ahead. The food is a bit more pricey than Chinatown, and it doesn't necessarily reflect in the quality of the food, unfortunately. Still, if you're with good company, one cannot complain. In terms of food, it was pretty standard Chinese food. I do realise the restaurant specializes in Hubai food, but I could not differentiate the difference. The black fungus-tofu stirfry is amazing as well as the cumin lamb (although it suspiciously tasted more like pork). Some really good things on the menu that I want to try next time are the noodles. The service was pretty good. They were quite professional and didn't joke around behind the counter. They took our order promptly and even asked if we wanted forks (although everyone one of us can use chopsticks). The only bad thing that happened was one of the dishes came out just as we were nearly finished. We didn't really have room for it, and I wished they communicated that we had one dish left and asked if we still wanted it. All in all, a wonderful experience and I wouldn't mind coming back again if I'm in the area. A little bonus for Yelpers who check in on the app: £5.99 for 1/4 crispy aromatic duck.

A messy table with plenty of empty plates says it all!

Another very good meal here. As a previous reviewer mentioned, prices have gone up slightly but not by much. The prices on the website are not correct. Our crab was £16, not £26. We had a great meal. As usual p, we ordered the spicy crab. This never comes out the same, for whatever reason, but it is always good. Loads of dried chilies and Sichuan peppercorns tempered by bamboo shoots and celery. I suspect the crab was not live when prepared but it was still good. General Guan's Beef was excellent. The beef was battered and deep fried and then cooked with onions, dried chilli and sichuan Peppercorns. Absolutely delicious. We also had the traditional green beans with pork mince. Always a great standard. I also love that is restaurant always has a large Chinese clientele. For a restaurant so off the Chinese beaten path, it's a great find.

Horrific king pao chicken. Strong chemical flavor likely from the red chilies. Friendly service but unacceptable flavor from a standby.

Oh my goodness! I can't believe no-one has reviewed the epic Karaoke Epoc yet!!…read more When I was a student, I was never completely convinced that this place existed. I had vague drunken memories of stumbling into a manga shop and finding a mini-Japan style Karaoke box...I must have been here quite a few times with different groups of Japanese friends. However I could never find it again when I was sober. *blushes* Karaoke Epoc is hidden at the back of Adanami Shobo (the Japanese Manga/ book shop on Brewer street.) If you have never been there before, it can be a teeny bit tricky to find...look out for a 'De-lux Cleaning' sign to find the shop. This is one of the least posh karaoke places in London. The decor is a little old/scabby looking...but it is also brilliant! I'll tell you why: - We booked the huuuge room downstairs, and had more than enough room for all 16 of us. There was even enough room for us to dance around the table as well!! - They have teeny 4-6 people rooms upstairs if you have a smaller group. - There was a fridge in the corner, so we brought drinks and kept them cool in there. - The remote control is like a mini computer...you can search by song title or by artist. Ask for help if you can't read Japanese. - There is a decent Japanese/Korean/Chinese selection of songs as well as all the old English favorites. Oooh and a whole page of disney songs!! (^^) - It is really cheap, especially if you go early and have a large group of singing friends. Last night I paid £11 for three hours. I'm not the only on that loves this place!! Make sure you book in advance as it is nearly always booked up.

When I come to London I always like doing karaoke with my friends, this now the only place I want to do it at. P.s. If you need to get some booze when you're there, go out of the front door and go left down the street, take the first right and there's a shop just there.

The room was a bit tired and worn around the edges, but my husband and I ordered some drinks and got ready for an hour of singing. Let's start with refreshments. I can't speak for their cocktails, but their beer options were very limited; cheap Japanese beer and one or two domestics. I ordered a Diet Coke and it tasted incredibly awful, which was strange because it came in a bottle. My husband's soda (also from a bottle) also tasted weird. The song catalog is jacked. First, major artists like Beyonce, the Beatles, etc. are missing big hits from their discographies. Second, the pitch of almost all the songs we selected were modified or changed significantly from the original recordings, I presume to make them easier to sing. For someone who sings well, this is incredibly obnoxious. Everyone knows if you can't sing karaoke well you just shout it out, but that doesn't mean I want songs to be off-key or in a weird key that doesn't work. I would try to find a better place if you can. We were planning on going to the Karaoke Box in Mayfair, but got turned around and ended up here. I wish we would have skipped it and saved the money.

The Kingpin Suite provides exactly that and I had such a great night here. I hired the venue for a work event so we had sole use for the evening but on most nights it is open to the public (you will need to book ahead). The food was great and very American style with mini burgers, hot dogs, pizzas and canapes. The bowling lanes are great fun and the karaoke room is sound proof meaning that it does not disturb the live music in the main room. The karaoke system is also of a high quality and has the largest collection of songs I have ever seen! There is also a hot tub which seems like a bit of an unusual addition - I didn't try that one out! The bar staff are friendly and at around £3.50 for a glass of wine the prices are reasonable. The venue is actually very difficult to find however as is also located in the same building as the Bloomsbury Lanes so it can get quite confusing when trying to locate the place. Kelly dealt with my booking and was fantastic - she made the day run as smoothly as possible and everyone had a great time. This would make a great venue for a Christmas Party.

The venue is cute and clean, and they were pretty good about making sure everyone adheres to the booking times. The hour we booked flew by - with six people on our team, we only managed to squeeze in one game. But that's a pro and a con: it's a busy venue, so we were always checking the clock to see how much time we had left. It was actually a bit of a killjoy. It's a nice experience, but I felt that everything -- including the food and the cocktails -- were overpriced. I know that's the trade-off you make for having a central location, but I would have preferred to have a more old-school bowling alley experience, even at the cost of having to travel farther out... you know, the kind where you goof around with a few close friends while putting away onion rings and beer into the wee hours of the night while "Roxanne" plays for the fifth time over the speakers. I don't need my bowling to be glamorous, but I suppose that's a personal preference.
