    Selection of Starters
    Jalpesh T.

"A great authentic selection of Veg and Non-Veg menu with excellent service" Date of Visit: 18.01.18 Time: 12.30pm Review: Upper Street has one restaurant after another so you can easily get confused where to eat and you may not venture from one end to the other but i do recommend you plan and stick to your plan as we did else we would have not walked this far down (towards Highbury from Angle Tube) and would have walked past the small entrance no doubt and missed out on this little treasure. There are also special lunch deals which are very well grouped options and worth looking at. Menu selection is great with many options but not to the point you cant decide and also would then question the quality on offer. A good selection of starters, mains and desserts. Food all arrived promptly and hot and all well presented. I tried all the dishes and each had an authentic and different taste and enjoyed each one from the starters to the main to the dessert. Also having a selection of both veg and non-veg all great with no complaints. This is not supposed to be fine dinning or a fusion resturant but its one i would visit again as you know you and anyone you take with you will be happy and full. Dress Code: No dress code and a nice place to visit for family meal or with friends. Booking Process: You are able to book a table on-line very easy process and you get a confirmation email which all worked well. Location: 119 Upper Street, London N1 1QP Cuisine type: Thai food Parking: There is off street parking but no dedicated car park Decor & Lighting: We sat by the window but there is a rear part to the restaurant also flooded with light from a glass atrium and although the resturant starts narrow it really has considerable space further down. There is also some nice accent lighting and good comfortable seating with various seating options available to meet any size party. Heating & Cooling: I noted a few AC units which i assume also had heat pumps and we went the temperature was cold outside but comfortable inside. Ambience & Acoustics: Light background music and simple decor, i would say the walls could do with some work to add some more ambience but overall a nice place and clean. Acoustics seemed to be good but as we went when it was empty it would be unfair to really comment too much about noise levels. DB Level: I did not take a reading as we were the only people in the restaurant at the time so would not be relevant Drinks: There was a good selection of drinks with various teas and other fresh juices and a couple of cocktails on offer but no non-alcoholic selection but all you would expect and a little more available so there was no real issue. We had the following: Starters Corn fritters with sweet chilli dressing - Comes with two good sized fritters, a bit on the sticky side for the teeth but great taste and not overly spicy and a great starter with the sweet chilli dressing also a good complimentary sauce. Spicy chicken and dill soup - A great fresh and spicy tasting broth with good amount of chicken.A big bowl for a starter. Vegetable spring roll - Mini spring rolls and little on the greasy side but all forgiven for the great taste and i could have eaten so many more of these. Vegetable thom yum - A great soup with plenty of vegatibiles and spicy slightly sweet broth. A big bowl for a starter. Main Course Vegetable green curry with Thai aubergine, tofu, bamboo shoot and sweet basil - A good sized portion again a nice spicy tasting broth with good consistency of sauce and serve with rice. We asked for this without tofu. Chicken stir fry with cashew nut - Served in a large bowl with plenty of spicy crispy chicken pieces so if you love crispy spicy chicken you will love this but not served with any noddles or rice so worth maybe ordering something to accompany this dish. Phad mee, egg noodle with chicken, prawn, shiitake and beansprout - A good sized portion of egg noodles and chicken, which is similar to the stir fry but not as crispy. Very nice dish with plenty of flavour but a milder option than the others. Desert Warm raspberry and chocolate pudding with vanilla ice cream - Small but very hot raspberry and chocolate pudding but still a good size for dessert and not overly rich in taste with light raspberry taste so not overpowering. A nice vanilla ice cream that complimented the dessert well. A great end to the meal . Lemon cheesecake with strawberry ice cream - A light refreshing lemon cheesecake and fresh strawberry ice cream. Portion is not too big or too small and you can order two dishes and easily share each as i would recommend. Bill / Cost: Around £50-60 for three people which i found extremely reasonable given the portion size and quality of food. Conclusion: Menu selection and service was excellent with great friendly staff who were also very attentive. Given we went at a day and time it was empty so i cannot comment on

I didn't like the fish cakes, too pungent for my taste. Liked the noodles I had, although I'd go for another meat choice besides beef. Wasn't to my liking. Too gamey and did not enhance the overall flavor. The vegetables in the dish were great. Order the garlic chili crunch sauce to complement any dish. House made and delicious.

We were seated in the middle of the restaurant which was running at full pelt, friendly atmosphere with people clearly enjoying each others company & the food. Having seen the reviews of people queuing up at the weekends to get in,I knew we'd found a winner, & so it proved, fresh ingredients cooked well (sounds basic, but trust me so many places get them wrong). Siam Central covers the lot, great customer service, delivers on food quality texture & flavours,my son had duck mee goreng & I had the prawn red curry with chicken satay on the side with a couple of beers - magical Highly recommend & great value for money in the heart London

We sat down and ordered our food boring my wife had glutten allergies. After a king disjointed explanation on cross contamination we confirmed our choices The food came swiftly but it contained thd hot peppers we specifically told the waitress my wife did want. A restaurant doesn't score 5 stars for being perfect - no no, 5 stars are reserved for that ideal…read moremix of great food and feel within its own self-selected category. Siam Eatery has done exactly this, rising to the top of the food chain in the fast-eats Asian category in the busy Covent Garden area. First, the price point is right on with others in their category (think Wasabi and Itsu) at around 8 pounds for a solid meal. You can get away for 5.50 if you're not that hungry and don't want a drink - but then you'll miss out on their stellar Thai Iced Tea. And, might I add, this is the first quick-eats Asian place I've visited that has mastered - let alone even TRIED - Thai Iced Tea. DO IT. Second, mains are wonderful. Customisable and packed with flavour, the curries don't just peg to the meat and veg, there's enough juice in there to create that perfect coated, rich rice base that is why we REALLY love curry. Their everyday special chicken is stunning (think spicy-red curry), while their standard red and green are just as good and full of flavour. The options of red, brown and white rice, or without rice and salad instead, have reached Tortilla-level customisation without having traded options for quality (as Tortilla have done, IMHO). Third, it's crazy fast. Most everything is pre-made, as this category is good at, but they do so well to keep you from knowing it. Everything is kept hot and unpackaged (except for the fridge salads, of course), and made just for you. It really does feel like you've stumbled into a legit curry house here. The spot is busy come lunchtime, though you'll get dinner in 30 seconds flat. And unlike a lot of popular lunch spots around, they're open til 20:00 most nights, making dinner here feasible. There are about 10 seats in this place, but you don't need to eat here. Though it's nice and classy, this is undoubtedly a grab-and-go place. Seriously, though - don't forget your Thai Iced Tea. Would be a shame to miss the cherry atop the sundae at this gem of a curry palace.

The cafe is very well positioned for Covent Garden but is off the beaten track so not full of tourists. They have a selection of different warm dishes, varying in spicy-ness and meats. They also sell some lovely looking salads. The price is reasonable for Covent Garden with the veg curry costing £5 and salads £4.80. They also have a few seats inside and they don't charge you extra to eat in which is great! The staff are lovely too and will advise you on what to have if you're not a huge fan of spicy food (I only realised this after fighting my way through the red Thai curry though). I went back again today and had a delicious satay chicken sandwich which was very yummy.
