But that was the highlight I was most looking forward to. There wasn't much flavor of anything else, either. Even the chili spice sugar garnish on the rim was lackluster. Pity. Decor was okay, but it smelled kind of sour inside, as if cleaning hadn't been done properly or often. Same with the seating outdoors--dingy, sagging, unkempt. Bar area seemed a bit disorganized, and something sticky was on the outside of my drink that got on my hands right as I received it. Service was friendly but just okay--it wasn't too busy when we arrived, and we still had to wait an incommensurate amount of time for drinks. Overall, not much to impress. Recommend a pass on this place.

It's a pretty tight nit spot. Drinks are very pretty and many options to choose from. This would be a place to go to just for the experience not necessarily for the drinks.

The Old Fashioneds are some of the best I've had anywhere, and Aaron is one of the most talented mixologists in the city. In fact, Aaron is a big reason many people keep coming back. He's exceptional at what he does, and every drink reflects that level of skill. The espresso martinis are fantastic, but the "Not Espresso Martini" was an unexpected favorite that kept us coming back. One of the things I love most is that the menu changes seasonally, giving us a reason to come back and work our way through the new cocktails to find our latest favorite. The bartenders are knowledgeable, welcoming, and clearly passionate about their craft. The atmosphere is cozy, intimate, and full of character. There are actual typewriters throughout the space, which perfectly fits the literary theme and adds to the experience. As a fun touch, my friend always receives a book with her receipt and reads a random paragraph before we leave. It's those little details that make Inkwell feel like a hidden gem rather than just another bar. If you're looking for creative cocktails, talented bartenders, and a unique atmosphere, Inkwell is absolutely worth a visit. Such a vibe.

We went on a mini road trip to Des Moines from Kansas City and this was the first spot we visited! If you're looking for a cocktail bar that's a little different from the norm, Revival House is definitely worth adding to your Des Moines itinerary.

My only wish is that the lattes were as creative as the atmosphere. They have tons of flavor options, but most seem to be standard store-bought syrups. I got the dark chocolate cherry latte, which was good, but with how unique this place is, I'd love to see more fun coffee options to match the vibe--things like house-made seasonal syrups, flavored cold foams, or more creative specialty drinks. Still one of the most fun cafés to hang out at, and definitely a place I'd come back to!

We first visited PaC at a Yelp event, but now we are hooked on their popcorn! The cocktails portion of Popcorn and Cocktails is nothing to sneeze at either. They are super smooth and flavorful, and the perfect pairing with a little side of popcorn. They even have pairings on their menu that show you which popcorns go best with each cocktail (and each cocktail actually comes with a side of that popcorn). If you like your side of popcorn that came with your cocktail, you can also purchase a large bag of it to take home! Our favorite popcorns have been the French Toast, Bourbon Bacon Cheddar, and Peanut Butter. They have popcorns for every craving - savory or sweet. And the cocktail we've liked the best was the Summer Peach - which literally came with a peach candy on the rim! So easy to drink and a little sweet. Popcorn with cocktails might sound like an odd combination, but PaC does it perfectly and will convert you to a fan of this combo!!
