Huevos Aztecas
Cynde C.

This was our first stop while visiting Guanajuato - and what a great stop it was! I had the huevos aztecas and they were as good as they looked! The coffee (latte) was perfect and the atmosphere was so picturesque too! We'll be stopping her for breakfast during every visit from now on! We took a street food tour and the guide confirmed that this place is a hit with the locals too!

Our group shared the banana split, limon crepe and the crepe filled with ice cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce aNd whip cream. The last one was my favorite the first was my second and. Didn't care for the limon. Friendly service and enjoyable decor . Free wifi too. :)

Delicious breakfast

There are so many great things about this place. The breakfast dishes we had were SO good. I had huevos gusto with scrambled eggs, salsas, beans, and I added chilequiles for an additional 10 pesos (great decision). You can also get it with chorizo, soy chorizo, or other options. Everything was just so, delicious. The breakfasts came with orange juice AND coffee. For a few extra pesos I upgraded to a latte and it was very good. I haven't even mentioned the seating area. You can sit on a little bridge-type area over the street below for great people-watching. There is indoor seating, too. There is wifi, but I didn't try it. The server was nice. Delicious food, great prices, and a view. Hard to beat!

Chicken fajitas

Order the fajitas. They were good and came with a quesadilla instead of tortillas, so had to order a side of tortillas.

My view

Ine of my favorite restaurant im GTO. This picturesque cafe with outdoor sitting area by the famous bridge. You can have a wonderful view, people watching while enjoying your meal. The food is wonderful, well prepared dishes. Great for breakfast or lunch. The service is excellent, attentive and very courteous staff. And the price is definitely right. Highly recommended this place if you are in Guanajuato.

Steak Fajitas and salad

I had a milkshake and steak fajitas. They were both good. The outdoor seating, though undeniably charming over the bridge, was just a couple of padded stools. Service was fine, but not amazing. Overall the food was better than expected. Prices very reasonable. Large menu. They have wifi, though I didn't get a chance to test it.

Newton Salad

Beautiful restaurant with a bridge at good location where you may take beautiful photos. The food are of great quality, good size and at good price. Excellent. Highly recommend it.

Breathtaking view

This is the first restaurant we went to in Guanajuato. It's highly recommended by our Airbnb landlord and the Lonely Planet. The view is breathtaking if you sit outside on the bridge, also a little bit windy but it's always better to have a brunch in the sun. We ordered omelette, hot cake, coffee (of course) and chocolate milk. Everything was fantastic. The blonde girl who served us is stunning and speaks good English. It's very hard to find English-speaking people in this town. It's a pity that they only take cash like most Guanajuato restaurants.

Caesar salad - It was just okay
Elena E.

Meh, it's okay. I can see the appeal ambiance-wise if you are able to snag one of the few tables on the outdoor balcony, but there's not much that distinguishes it from inside. Service was okay, but staff wasn't the friendliest or most welcoming. The food was just okay -- My husband and I ordered nachos and two salads to share. Overall, it was a so-so experience, and given some other much better food and dining experiences we had in Guanajuato, I probably wouldn't return to Santo Cafe.

It was okay, we had the enchiladas and baguette. The staff wasn't very attentive and the food wasn't the best.

The food and the drinks are simple, but good. The service and atmosphere remind me of sitting in my best friend's kitchen having a few drinks and some basic home snacks. Personally, while in Guanajuato, I've made this place my home away from home, and the Miguel, who is running the place has made me feel like that's exactly where I am. And, what a view!!! See my photos! Give this place a try; I don't think you will regret it.

I happened upon it while I was heating myself up the mountain to see the Pipila Monument. I was kicking myself for opting to bypass the ride up the Funicular, but now that I'm here at Bésame Cafe, I know I made the right decision! It's off the beaten path definitely, but as they say, I prefer the road less travelled. This one is definitely worth the journey. It's amazing view alone makes this spot magnificent. But then paired with a lovely owner, delicious food and drinks, this spot was truly a highlight to the city. I had a nice refreshing tequila, some delightfully brewed coffee, and simple quesadillas paired with a dish of homemade puerco that is tal off the bone, perfectly spiced, heavenly goodness. This spot is barebones, certainly, without even a menu. But honestly, you might as well not come to Guanajuato if you don't come to this cafe!

Stopped by at 3:30pm and greeted at the door with a big smile. Walked up 3 floors of a completely empty restaurant and escorted to the rooftop terrace where we were sadly left at the table for more than 20 minutes without any attention. Just about to leave, the waitress is heard running up the steps to apologize to us. Their Micheladas single handedly saved this Yelp review because they were perfect. I'm very picky on about my micheladas. Alitas were absolutely delicious and nachos were great for Mexican nachos. Had to ask for serviettes. Prices were reasonable, and food was enjoyable. But the slow as molasses service left me ready to leave before I even got a drink order.

My favorite spot to grab a drink in all of Mexico. The vibes are cool, a lot of cool, local art -- you have to go upstairs and check out the crazy wood dragon sculpture! Also they have great music, each time I've come there's been awesome live music, from rad local punk bands, to chill, soothing acoustic sets. Also the staff is top notch! So kind, very patient with my limited Spanish, we ended up having awesome conversations! Jonny (the owner) gave me a crash course in the proper way to truly experience and appreciate Mezcal. Also they have great food and coffee!
