Two entrees for $12 after 5p is quite a value! With a side of fried plantains it was only $14. It was one choice each of a filling Dominican-forward Caribbean-style stewed pork or chicken, with choice of rice and beans. What makes it 5-stars when it's buffet cafeteria-style food and some textures were perfect while others a touch dry? When the cost for different menu items isn't really clear and you gotta ask? When they close early at 7p? It's not enough to say, "Well it IS two heaping portions for $12! What do you expect?!" For us the really special thing was the incredible welcome from all three staff members helping serve us and check us out to-go. They offered us to taste-sample anything that we were considering notwithstanding us arriving 20 minutes before closing. They were patient and informative. Noticing that we were new visitors, they welcomed us to Florida and chit-chatted about our Orlando-area travel with their revolving-with-the-seasons-and-ingredients menu. Santiago's is a place that feeds people wholesomely, fairly, and with friendship. This is why soul food is called soul food. This restaurant is small but packed with flavor (food and ambience). Being my lazy self I've always ordered delivery from Uber Eats multiple times and enjoyed the Authentic Latin food EVERY time. Finally ventured out to the establishment and encountered a buffet-style setup. The fresh food items aren't labeled but have no fear because they will be able to let you know. It is an unpriced unclear buffet style where you have no idea how much it will be what they serve you. They won't tell you but they are good at writing the high cost on the box. The juices are loaded with sugar and the owner screaming a customers because the unclear hassle that it is to make an order. Dominicans from New York doing tricks but will see how long it lasts. This was actually a surprise. The restaurant is located right off the main road. Drive into the shopping area and it's right on a corner lot. Food is pretty typical of a Dominican restaurant in NYC. Prices are very good for the amount of food that you get. Lots of options available and fresh. The mofongo, the chicharron, the ensalada de lambi were all great. So glad that we tried this place based on just a few reviews (i believe thatit is very new). I love authentic Puerto Rican and similar food, and when I faced the lineup of wonder at Santiago's (see pictures) I did not know what to do. It all looked delicious. Arroz con habichuela, arroz con gandules (rice and beans/pigeon peas). Maduros (sweet plantains). Chicharrones - fried pork bellies. Beef and chicken Empanadas. Various stews and soups. Avocado salad looked delicious but I was over burdened by the time I reached the salads. My favorite was the mofongo (which is primarily mashed plantain, spices, garlic, broth, pork) must try it if you've never - and get it with caldo de pollo (chicken broth). No plot twists in this review- it was all as good as it looked. I ate way too much...and no regrets. Good prices. Clean, plenty of tables. Super friendly service. Can't wait to return. read more

The food was very appealing and I was so glad that my food was also authentic in taste and spices. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted. The line to order starts immediately to the right as soon as you enter. I wish they had the prices of how much a main entree with aide would cost, but usually it is around $7-$10. My husband paid and didn't save the receipt for me -_- but I know it was around $22 with tac and tip and we had two take out entrees with drinks so not bad. The menu is on a power point television, which didn't cycle quickly, so I only had one photo. When I go back, I will take more! My picadillo (ground beef) was superb! It was so delicious and great! It felt like I was back in Miami having actual Hispanic food. It felt like my friend's Dominican grandma made it lol. The avocado salad went perfect with my entree and my husband's mofongo with shrimp. The empanadilla de queso (cheese) was authentic as per my Puerto Rican husband, but I was thinking I was getting my Cuban cheese empanada, so this place also holds of course Puerto Rican background. Oh my goodness, this place is amazing! My sister and I were getting our nails done at a salon nearby and one of the nail technicians recommended this place. They are super clean? They are located in an area with lots of things to try (a dessert shop, a churro place, Greek food, and much more). They offer lunch specials, but I believe we missed it, however, the price was still great for two plates of home cooked food. I wish this place wasn't so far from my house or I'd be there much more often. We had the fried pork and it was super tender, seasoned, and authentic. I would recommend asking for a side of sauce to put on the rice because it can be a bit dry with the fried pork. Once I got the sauce, I fell in love. read more

It was very well-lit and had very mom-and-pop vibes which I loved. I was expecting to get a Cuban sandwich based on the online menu but I did not expect to be so tempted by the food behind the glass. I am so glad I did tho, my lunch was amazing. The lady filled my container up to the brim with pulled pork, rice and beans and it cost me less than $10! My only complaint is that there should be paper menus or labels on the glass to show what each food is bc I had to ask what the options were. We ordered big buffet platters for a party for 20 people and it was only $300 (!!) we had enough food for 3 days and had to throw away leftovers because we left town. We ordered fried pork chunks, pulled pork, fried chicken, stewed chicken, two things of white rice, 1 yellow, 2 black beans, 1 pinto, 1 large tray of plaintajns, tostones, chicken and beef empanadas. Did we try Santiago's? Umm. Yes we did Yelp. Four awesome dad bods were in the area for a golf trip and losing pair had to pay for dinner. We happened to be staying at an AirBNB not too far, but they do close at 7:00 so we called and asked if they'd be ok with us showing up at 6:45 on a Saturday. I don't know if it was because they were closing, but 2 dinners for $12 was crazy. Why would anyone eat at some fast food chain is beyond me. We ended up with a mountain of food. The ceviche and roast pork were highlights, but can you really ever go wrong with stewed chicken or plantains? You can't leave without a pineapple soda and I know they were heading into an off day, but the free salad was an added bonus. Needless to say, it was the best $80 we spent on our trip. MINUS TIP. ALWAYS TIP BIG because their service, smile, and hospitality makes this a must stop if you're in the area. read more
